Saturn and the Idea of a Referee

     Preface

Note: See the short video, Referees, at youtube.com/emedetz or http://williammistele.com/videopoems.html

From the video:

What if history had referees who hand out yellow and red cards? Then there would be no Julius Caesar, no Genghis Khan, no Napoleon, no Hitler, no Stalin, no Saddam Hussein.

When shall war be no more?

“When there shall appear four or five in whom there is no fear; and whose souls are so clear that when malice, evil, or ill-will draw near, these things dissolve as if they were never there.”

…. Because no one applies for the job or else they seek glory, power, fame, and wealth, justice and peace have yet to play on the stage of history.

Preface

I sometimes define magic as a study of how to make the best choices in life.  Among other things, awareness requires an understanding of opposites and how they balance, harmonize, and join.  Awareness increases freedom of choice.

The human race has a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde separation in the collective psyche.  The “light workers” are making very serious efforts to think positive and to imagine and dream those things they wish to bring into being.  They have discovered that there are vast spiritual resources available to humanity.  And they are reaching out and embodying these sources of inspiration in themselves.

Other parts of humanity are completely oblivious to this process.  It is not that they are materialistic.  The material world has its own assigned set of spiritual purposes to fulfill.  Rather, they are obsessed by the desire to possess, control, and dominate.

They too have dreams and visions they wish to manifest.  It is pretty much a will to power thing—they wish to create a world that is under the domination of their wills.  They wish to imprint and implant in others their own desires so that other people become a reflection and extension of their own egos.

If you treat the human race as one person, you have an individual, then, who is schizophrenic.  The part that thinks of itself as being more aware is totally oblivious to what is hidden inside.  The bright, light side has a shadow which for all practical purposes it denies as being part of itself.

The dark side, on the other hand, has access to far more energy and will power. It is active all the time in shaping and changing the world in which we live.

There are some wonderful exceptions.  But the task for the light workers is to gain the flexibility, creativity, and will necessary to capture or simply comprehend its dark side.  The result would be that the part of this “individual” that is inspired would have the energy and practical capacity to be more dynamic in action.  And the dark side would acquire a conscience so that it takes into consideration the consequences of its actions on others.

In other words, it is fine to refine oneself so that there is greater access to inspiration, love, and light.  But the more dynamic choice is to unite opposites within oneself: capturing and transforming the dark and autonomous instincts and passions produces greater and more enduring results.

The Dalai Lama’s famous quote is “As long as suffering remains to sentient beings, I will remain to serve.”  He will continue to incarnate to help liberate others from suffering.  This is a perfect expression of the high ideals in the Buddhist tradition.

A slightly more dynamic approach would be to say, “I am myself and I am equally a part of everyone else on earth without exception.” This exactly what Divine Providence places in front of me and expects me to figure out how to implement.  The implication is that there is no individual enlightenment.  That is an illusion.  Consciousness can be trained to be anywhere, in any form, and everywhere all at once.

Everyone has freedom of choice.  Let us imagine and create light workers who have the creativity to find not just for themselves but for everyone on earth the inspiration to make their best choices in life.

Introduction

Here is a summary of this set of essays.  In Franz Bardon’s system, you practice concentrating on your five senses and you balance the four elements—earth, air, fire, and water—in your astral body on a personal level.

Then you work directly with these elements as they exist in nature. You also practice a method for drawing in and condensing  vitality in your body by concentrating on breathing.

Everything else in Bardon is a refinement and application of these practices.  Though there is one more thing—you learn to enter akasha and become comfortable with it.

Akasha can be experienced by imagining a dark, ultra-violet light radiating out from the pours of your body and extending through the universe penetrating through space and time.  You identify with this vast, open space of formless consciousness.

In this practice of meditation, akasha is a physical sensation you produce in and around your self.  This is a basic homework assignment.

All my comments on Saturn simply present these basic exercises in a different light and framework.   For example, you can practice the akashic exercise while you are joining your consciousness to another individual such as a leader of a nation who abuses his power.  You place your consciousness inside of the other person.  This is exercise is in chapter three of a book with ten chapters--imagining you are inside of other things.

While you are inside of someone else, you imagine your self and the other person penetrating through space and time. You and the other person are without form, absolutely free, penetrating through all of time and space.  You are enlightened, without attachment.  This state of awareness annihilates all false attachment.

It is not possible within this energy to be greedy, possessive, hateful, harmful, selfish, malicious, or controlling. There is no self present that can be selfish.  There is no power or money to seek to control or to possess.  You can not seek to harm something else because you are one with all things.  You can not feel wronged or denied because you are in a state of mind that is free to create the ecstasies of the four elements.  You see or sense the beginning and end of all things and the original purposes for which they were designed.

At this point, you have become the other individual’s conscience and guardian angel.  You enhance the other’s inspiration and power to choose the best in life.  But you do not interfere with the other’s free will by doing this.  You simply make it increasingly difficult to abuse power because now the individual’s aura is saturated with a desire for balance and a need to create harmony.

If the individual chooses to continue to harm others in a menacing and massive way, then all the elements in nature and the world turn against him.  He begins to fade from existence because all the forces that he used to be able to control and to command are now no longer on his side.

He can still choose to destroy but destroys only him self.  A judge holds a hearing. A probation officer does an evaluation.  A “referee” confronts an individual in the moment with the consequences of bad choices.

You are accelerating the individual’s learning curve—you are changing the time frame in which he assumes responsibility so his malice does not have the opportunity to cause massive suffering in our world.

This is the short summary of what a referee does.  It is a judge of Saturn operating as a human being.  If you want a world without wars, a world of peace and where justice fills the earth, then this activity is precisely the price that must be paid in order to get it.

I did not make this up.  The concept and call to play this role has been in the akasha of our planet for as long as human beings have been on earth.

Occasionally someone mentions it directly: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” Or, in my paraphrase of the above, “Blessed are those who find the divine within themselves, for they shall create peace and fill the earth with justice.”

You do not need to go out to Saturn to think these thoughts and figure out how to apply them.  The concept is in our minds right here on earth in this moment and the methods are so simply that nearly anyone can learn to practice them.

Jupiter and Saturn

Jupiter is all about prosperity which is a New Age obsession.  In a post industrial nation, if your positive thinking is stronger than the individuals around you, it is quite possible to attract and organize others and lead them and yourself to greater prosperity.

After all, five per cent of Americans possess more wealth now in 2010 than the entire world created before 1980.  These individuals who founded corporate empires and found success did so by focusing the full force of their personalities and wills toward the attainment of their goals.  After eight thousand years of political, economic, and scientific development, our modern world finally enables the laws of polarity and positive thinking to work on a practical level.

Prosperity is Jupiter in action.  For justice on earth and a judicial system that sustains the laws of society and of the universe, you have to turn to another planet—to Saturn.  But why do this?

After all, Jupiter creates situations in life where an individual finds his greatest opportunities to learn new things; and at the same time the same situation offers the individual his greatest capacity to give to and serve others.  Jupiter enables and inspires you to seize the best opportunities in life.  It enriches you so you feel fully alive. Why ask for more from a spiritual quest?

By contrast, Saturn enables you to listen to your conscience so you do not ignore those little warning signs that arise before you die or cause your “modern world” to self-destruct and your human race to become extinct in the blind of an eye.

Saturn’s attitude toward prosperity is that prosperity is a good thing as long as you use it wisely.  In other words, build your life and your society on a solid foundation. Otherwise as life unfolds time will confront you with the weaknesses and negativity buried within you, hidden from your conscious mind.  It will amplify the darkness within you increasing it power until it inevitably rises up and destroys you.

You do not see this coming because you failed to heed the basic principle of Saturn—for conscience and oversight of your life to work you must balance the four elements within yourself—love, will, intellect, and accomplishments.  If one of these is defective and left behind, your conscience is destroyed and you navigate blind.

Saturn’s vibration is easiest to discover in reflection and introspection.  You consider the deepest karmic problems you face in life and you take the time and make the effort to solve them.  In effect, you are not racing ahead on your quest to succeed and to prosper. You are slowing down so that the prosperity you attain will have both a solid foundation and an enduring harmony.

Visiting Saturn

The energy is dense, heavy, and filled with the spirit of oppression.  Just think of any time when you were held back from moving forward—when getting what you wanted ran into overwhelmingly opposition.

It is a time when you are beset by darkness and can not find a path into the light. It is a time when nothing around you seems to express or reflect the desires of your heart.  It is a time when all the opportunities for expanding your experience, for feeling alive, and getting the most out of life come crashing down--your hopes dashed to pieces, dreams shattered, and your life shipwrecked.

Saturn is rather gloomy like a nightmare. Saturn is about death and separation.  It is departing and leaving behind the life we know and have lived. To attune yourself to Saturn’s perspective, try viewing your life from the other side of the grave.

Meditating here today is very melancholy.  I find myself reliving experiences with others, both the beginning and end of the relationships.  In the movie, Meet Joe Black, the wealthy businessman says that “sixty five years go by like that” and he snaps his fingers.

There are auctions in Los Angeles for storage facilities in which the rent has not been paid.  You can bid on the contents of a storage locker but you do not get to see what is inside unless you win the bid.

Sometimes a man has left his valuables, his memorabilia, his keepsakes, etc.  And there are the pictures of his wedding, his married life, his vacations, his family, and his divorce papers.  It has gone.  It is the memories of a life time that now fall into the hands of a stranger who is no more than a scavenger.  How sad.

Would he have still married that girl in the picture if he had known the final end?  What would he have tried to do different?  Would he have found a way to forestall what became inevitable?  If “death were his guide” would he have been able to be both detached and loving enough to realize that in life the best and the worst walk side by side?

The infant’s first cry and the last breath of the one who is to die—from Saturn you see them both in the same moment before your eyes.

I am out here in Saturn in my relentless, persevering, and life long quest for world peace.  After all, before I was born, Stalin killed tens of millions in Russia but Mao holds the current record of thirty million starved to death in China due to his idiotic economic policies.  I would like to play a small part in keeping such disasters from happening in this century.

In elementary school, we used to “duck and cover” under our desks practicing in case there was a nuclear war with the Soviet Union.  And then later on they discover that a full scale nuclear war would easily bring on a nuclear winter not to mention damaging the biosphere.  The doctrine of “mutually assured destruction” promised peace but at the risk of returning the world to Stone Age culture or extinction by events unfolding within a half hour.

All that was required to end the world was a mistake, a political miscalculation, or something unforeseen going wrong.  It amazes me that we are still alive.

Physics gave mankind a few minor gifts of Uranus—fission and fusion—but at a price.  These gifts require you to stare Saturn in the face and be ready for an endgame of self-annihilation.  In other words, as a child in elementary school it was drilled into me to think globally and to consider extinction as a very real option.

Saturn Meditation

I started out today—a different day--briefly meditating in the earthzone of our planet.  For the spirits of the earthzone, our planet is a university.  The reason to be here is to learn or else to serve others.  From this perspective, the nice thing about our planet is its simplicity:

You are born.  You grow up.  You work.  You love.  You die.

Short and sweet.  Akasha sees the beginning and the end at the same time. Walk though any graveyard or mausoleum and you will see akasha at play—to everything a time and a season and then you move on.  But first there is an ending and closure.

If you go with the flow of life, there is inner peace.  As I mention elsewhere, only in the physical world are we offered such a high learning curve.

The sphere of Saturn has the usual emptiness of akasha, an awareness penetrating through space and time.  But it is far more severe--intense, relentless, insisting that there be no attachment to anything.  It is after purity of spirit.  If you want to attain to cosmic freedom, Saturn is the game.

Most people do not think of enlightenment as a primary mission.  For these, an encounter with the full force of Saturn can be an absolute nightmare, a place of horror, loss, grief, constriction, and a confrontation with all of life’s sorrow and limitations.

I have mentioned elsewhere that George Washington knew of this place. He once said that “if my enemies tasted a small portion of the despair in which I live they would have abandoned this war long ago.”

Saturn is an invisible, immaterial vibration.  But, like the magic of silence, it is also an absolute weapon of war. General Washington’s military strategy required patience, endurance, and an emphasis on survival and not glory.  The powers of England began to fade when confronted with this dark abyss of wisdom in which Washington lived.

Consider the basic components of life in terms of hermetic tradition and the point of view of Saturn:

The element of fire is will power.  But for Saturn divine purpose is essential otherwise will power will falter and become like the “fallen tower” in the Tarot.

The element of air is wisdom.  But for Saturn, your mind must be as open as the sky and as clear as a mirror. All boundaries and limitations must be left behind otherwise you are blind.

The element of water is love.  For Saturn, you must become one with another without a trace of attachment, possession, or grasping.  Fail in this endeavor and your love is like a sailor sailing on a sea of illusion and delusion.

The element of earth is consciousness.  Something to accomplish here? For Saturn, the works that are made from our consciousness must be of such value that that they endure through all ages of the world.  These things become the center piece upon which all things turn.

There is a little voice in my ear.  As you can see, Saturn is not adverse to art or poetry.

The Voice of Saturn:

It is true that I am more concerned with the past than with the future.  I do not make new things but I grant insight. And the things that I make endure.

Enter the akashic plane of my sphere.  Mediate here and you shall become the Lord of Fate annihilating fear and hate and drawing to a close the abuse of power on earth.

You shall hold the keys and open the gate to those who seek freedom.

My beauty inspires the universe to unfold.

My love is the compassion of the enlightened mind that nothing can bind.

Find me in the open empty expanse, the vastness of space that allows the light of the stars and galaxies to shine and life to rise, flourish, and to ascend in the fullness of time.

The Idea of a Referee

For a thousand years, Israel had prophets in every generation and then for five hundred years—nothing until John the Baptist and Christ appeared.  I consider that first thousand years a teaching module.  It established a tradition.  But instead of checks and balances as in a constitution invented by free men, the divine appointed prophets as a checks and balance system on power.

Unlike almost every other nation on earth, these prophets had authority over the king.  Now, you will not find that in India, China, ancient Rome, Greece, Germany, or almost anywhere else.  The Catholic Church of course tried to exercise some “moral conscience” over Europe.  But it was ecclesiastical authority and in absolutely no way an actual divine power in play.

Well, except maybe a few times as when Pope Leo persuaded single-handedly Attila the Hun to turn back his armies from sacking Rome.  But even Pope Leo had to resort to bribes when he tried to pull that stunt a second time.  A prophet operates purely through the force of spirit.  No bribes necessary.

Examine the prophets carefully and I notice they did not so much tell people what do with their futures.  Rather, they pointed out when and where kings and people were violating the basic rules.  You still get to chose your own future, determine your destiny, but you can not mess around when it comes to the basics like fair play, right action, and justice.

A prophetic religion is where a society exists to fulfill a divine mission.  Israel, named after Jacob who wrestled with an angel for a blessing, existed in my mind to do precisely that: wrestle with the divine for a blessing.  It is not a one time event. Each person and generation gets to do it again and again.  It is obviously both a curse and a blessing.

But the Jews were not the only prophetic religion. The two horn priest among the Hopi Indians were every bit as demanding and commanding as the prophets of Israel.  They acted as fate for their people when the people no longer served the vision.

Scary stuff.  Makes no sense unless survival is the issue.  I figure the Jews operate that way.  The calamities you see happening to the Jews are prophetic warnings.

A holocaust?  Someone denying the holocaust?  Once in concentration camps and now they control Gaza and the West Bank and are accused of being monsters themselves.

The lives of Jews are a virtual warning system alerting the rest of the world as to what might be in the near future: what happens to Jews can happen to everyone else in a short period of time.  We could all be in concentration camps or controlling populations that want our destruction if history makes a slight turn in the wrong direction.

Consider: Some national leader or someone else for that matter who abuses his power to a massive degree either causing great suffering or planning the same either directly or indirectly as the result of his actions.  And such actions subtract rather than adding to the opportunities of the human race to advance its chances for survival, and its ability to learn, to grow, and to evolve.

Now, take away the religion and keep the idea of a prophet who keeps tabs on those in power.  That is a referee.

Imagine that the National Football League had no referees for a year on the playing field.  And imagine that millions in bonuses were awarded at the end of the year to the winners.  Before the year was out, the players would be killing each other.

This is exactly what has happened in human history—big rewards for the winners with no referees to cry foul. You get to change all of that by simply aligning your will with the purpose of one of the great centers of spiritual awareness in our solar system—Saturn.

Thus the 1975 movie, Rollerball, with James Cann. At the end of the season, the higher ups decided to have playoffs with no rules. The goal of the game then became the destruction of the opposing players.

Add it up: no referees and we get exactly what we have: human history with its wars, injustice, and famines.

In soccer, the referee hands out a yellow card or a red card.  The yellow card is a warning.  Get a red card and you are out of the game.  I saw the international playoffs one year.  Both going for the ball, one player spun around and smashed the other player in the face with his elbow.  Not even with great imagination could that move have been construed as an accident.

The referee handed him a red card instantly.  The player was out of the game, out of the series, and out of a career.

Now even with a bad referee the players play differently.  They still know they are being watched.  And for the really big stuff, like killing another player, intentionally and maliciously putting another player in the hospital, well even a lousy referee hands out a red card.

In the political sphere, a referee picks his own areas of interest: think genocide, think threatening others with nuclear missiles in order to further a play for power, think weapons of mass destruction, think starving millions, or whatever appeals to you.

Each referee has his or her own criteria.  There are no required group consults, no second opinions, no warm, fuzzy hugs of self-congratulating, self-righteous do-gooders.  There is nothing glamorous about this job.

No, a referee has a fiduciary responsibility for every leader and, for those he focuses on, he considers them his students.  Like a great teacher, he offers opportunities.  But with any student, there is the possibility of flunking or being expelled for bad behavior.

A referee is a direct agent of Saturn.  He is an apprentice to the forty-nine Judges of Saturn.  He has an absolute commitment to becoming enlightened and to leading the world to enlightenment.  When he acts as a referee, he acts not as a human but as a spiritual being.

A referee never interferes with another’s freedom of choice.  He only brings the future into the present by taking the karma of the individual and accelerating it so that it is the individual and not entire nations of people who suffer as a consequence of the bad decisions of that leader.

This is exactly what Saturn does.  It offers immense opportunities for learning from limitations giving an individual the chance to master those limitations and in so doing to become free of them.  To do this, Saturn is big on enlightenment—being free of all attachment.

Want to blow up the world, put humanity back into the Stone Age because your religion is so much better than others?  Imagine being in a state of awareness where there is no religion, no ideology, no doctrines, nothing you can cling to, no concept that offers clarity because in your mind is the perfection of enlightenment if you are willing to see with that light.

Want to take over the world, make nations bow to your will?  Imagine a vibration in your mind in which human identity, your own name and biography, no longer have any meaning.  You have become perfect freedom if you can endure that degree of illumination.

Like I say, referees embody the akashic plane of Saturn—its full vibration and intensity.  Handing out a red card is simply saying, “Come meditate with me.  Let us discuss fate and destiny.  We shall review human history and the part you have to play.  Here are your choices.  Here are your obstacles and opportunities.  Here are the results and consequences of your actions.

“Choose wisely.  I am a magic mirror and what you choose shall appear not in the far future but in what is near.  Ignore me if you will.  I am only the still, quiet voice speaking to you from the core your being.  But the authority granted to me is to preside over the things that shall be.  In me, you encounter not a human being but the full, exact, accurate, and unmitigated vibration of Saturn.”

Or, in an image, think the ghost of Christmas future who, without speaking, silently points to the end result of an individual’s actions.  Time no longer matters—a referee can suspend time at anytime.

The method is so simple almost anyone can practice it.  But the commitment is to a life time of training.  You are always seeking to upgrade your abilities. You work through the four elements and the vibration of all planetary spheres until you get to Saturn.

Franz Bardon does not like the sphere of Saturn.  He says the spirits there only tell him things that are very depressing.  For example, the nasty things they have done to black magicians.

But for me it is not about what a spirit says or knows.  It is about what you become yourself if you had that spirit’s powers and qualities internalized within you--Not “what the spirit says” but “what I am with the power of the spirit embodied in me.”

With Saturn, I am led to become a referee, a probation officer, a cosmic Zen master.  Like Saturn, the idea is to simply accelerate evolution, offer the highest learning curve.

The good things in life do not ask you to change.  The difficulties in life force you to change.  Thus the physical world offers the highest learning curve than any of the inner worlds or spiritual realms—its crammed full of obstacles and difficulties.

If I check a spirit’s vibration at two points of time thirty years apart, the spirit invariable has exactly the same vibration and energy.  If I check a human beings aura after three years, it is sometimes like a completely different person.  The individual has progressed or regressed or simply changed.  Here in the physical world we are subjected to astonishing forces that we must cope with and even learn to master.

Saturn reflects this in its accounting: “Here is what you are doing right--keep it up.  Here is what you are doing wrong—improve upon it.”  But without the divine accountant telling you about your assets and liabilities, your balance sheet of life’s failures and opportunities, well, you simply do not learn much.  You risk ending up bankrupt.  Saturn tries to prevent bankruptcies from occurring.

The prophets of Israel did not act on their own initiative.  They were appointed.  Appointed?  Try a burning bush, a threat of being swallowed by a big fish, a voice appearing over and over in a dream, a vision blinding them, or an angel with a sword in one’s path ready to kill them—like I say, not much personal initiative there.  The impetus is coming from outside.  God is almost beating them over the head with a bat until they get off the bench and onto the field of divine play.

Thus, the energy and the inspiration came from the divine world.  Well, with a few exceptions. Daniel’s vision came when he, through his own initiative, went and fasted demanding answers to his questions.  He persisted, like Jacob, until the vision was granted.  Well done.

A referee, by contrast to Old Testament prophets, acts on his own initiative.  He trains and can create his own energy.  He observes, seeks, and acquires his own sources of inspiration.  Name a spirit, any spirit anywhere, and a highly trained magician can interact with that spirit within minutes.  No where in the Old Testament will you get that except with the prophet Isaiah who could go one better—he could channel God’s voice in an instant.

A referee’s actions are the result of his commitment to justice and to fair play.  (See my summation for Rule 2 under Ten Rule for Spiritual Seekers—“In a nutshell, listen so well that the divine world considers you part of itself.”  A referee holds himself accountable to act in harmony with the laws of the universe.  Those laws become part of his soul.

The referee seeks to enrich the world on all planes to whatever extent he can, realizing that to further the whole you have to focus also on the weakest elements—namely, intervening to solve those problems for which magic offers the only solution.

Unlike the actual Judges of Saturn or spirits of the planetary spheres, a referee is a human being in incarnation.  He has far greater discretion as to what can be done and as to how to participate than does any spirit.  This is because he is present, a player, an actor, a participant, on the field of life and not observing from a distance.

Saturn will allow an entire civilization to be destroyed and then it takes another ten thousand years for the same opportunities to appear on earth.  That is Saturn’s way.  It acts slowly with the expectation that human beings will eventually learn by dealing with the negative consequences of their own actions.

A referee, by contrast, does not sit on a throne in the akashic plane watching the consequences of the four elements play out on the three lower planes.  He is present.  He is an advocate.  He can accelerate the learning curve by just being himself, doing his meditations, at the right time, in the right place, and in the right way.

Gurus claim to do this sort of thing—they do a lot of mediation. They beam good energy around the world.  What they do not do is take full responsibility for producing real world results in specific time frames.  Gurus do not draw a line in the sand and say, “This far you may go but no further.  Attempt to harm others as you intend and I shall stand on the line.  To cross over you will have to pass through my heart and mind.”

With human history, justice simply does not happen unless someone fights for it.  And they will never “beat their swords into plow shears” and eliminate war until there are men and women who bring their full spiritual powers to bear upon these issues.

The great disadvantage of working with Divine Providence is that you have to upgrade and change your self many times as if you are living three or four life times in one life.  You do not have the luxury of clinging to one identity.  Your personality is under constant assault because you are developing both as a spirit and as a human being.  The spirit part of your self carries no possessions and seeks no pleasure or fame.

On the other hand, the advantage of working with Divine Providence is that get to feel and perceive in ways that are outside of human history.  For example, you get to wander around a hundred years, a thousand years, or ten thousand years into the future.  You can bring back whatever treasures you find to offer them to mankind to the extent you yourself become a vehicle, a vessel, a gate big enough and pure enough for these treasures to pass through.  There are simply no limitations placed upon you, other than one by one mastering every limitation or lesson life places in front of you.  And this can be quite a few.

You have to weigh carefully the needs of the self—both the personality and the spirit whose focus is on all that you can be—against the cost of undertaking this journey.  Or, as a lawyer I know once said which I think applies to genuine magical training,
“The first ten years are the worst.  It is incredibly hard work.  In the second ten years, things get better: you get the hang of it.

“But in the third ten years you have to be careful not to become lazy.  The judges all know who you are and are willing to offer you favors.”  In magic, it is not the judges but spirits you get to know who offer you favors.  And though this example refers to a career in law, the magical path is slightly more difficult to say the least.

What remedies does Saturn offer in regard to those who abuse power?  Sitting here in the sphere of Saturn it comes to me again as it has come many times before--

To deal with a rogue nation(s) rattling its nuclear saber and already threatening the destruction of other nations, simply check with Saturn.  It says—

Join your self to the sphere of Saturn so you are like unto one of the Judges of Saturn who has come down to earth.  And then mediate on the issues of justice and karma and the visions of what shall be from the point of view of Saturn and eternity.

Become literally the Spirit of Christmas Future who takes a world leader into the future and shows him his own death and the final end of all his works on earth.  Those who return from brief encounters with death or who have survived cancer often see life through new eyes.  They see the life that remains to them as a gift rather than as an opportunity to see how much they can exploit.

Give the experience of undergoing death while still alive.  Perhaps there is still time for a man to change his ways before he shall die.  “He that rules over men must be just .... and he shall be as the light of the morning, even a morning without clouds, after rain, with tender grass springing out of the earth.”(the last words of King David).

Judgment day is akasha.  It is in every moment.  Millions can die or a man can make a better choice so that suffering is avoided and life and light are preserved on earth.

That was what I was looking for when I sent my mind into the sphere of Saturn—a little reassurance and wisdom about how to deal a difficult karmic situation involving the nations of the earth.

The Ghost of Christmas Future/the Magic Mirror of Peacemakers (from The Cosmic Letter U)

I am the Ghost of Christmas Future

A mermaid in disguise--

I see what is hidden from others’ eyes.

For by the choices you make

You shape your fate

There are living who are dead

And dead who are still alive

For those who love

The heart still beats

The soul does not sleep

Choose love over hate

Choose peace

I am the Ghost of Christmas Future--

Without center, I am everywhere

Without form, I am free

In me past, present, and future

Are clearly seen.

And if I come to you

I will take from you

Until nothing remains

But your best dreams.

On the akashic level of my essay on the cosmic letter U, I tell the story of a Tibetan priest who overcomes the malice of a black magician.

A story.  An evil magician in Tibet has the power to kill others with his magic.  And now he has stated that he is going to kill a Tibetan priest. The Tibetan priest meditates on Prajnaparamita—a state of emptiness called the mother of those who attain enlightenment.  This state of mind and akasha are virtually the same thing.

The priest meditates: there is no separation.  There is no enemy.  There is no attack from an enemy.  And there is no one here to attack.  There is no identity—only emptiness and oneness without separation.  In other words, the priest joins his consciousness to akasha.

And now the evil magician unleashes the full power of his magic against the priest.  It is the power to destroy, annihilate, and obliterate.  But this massive will and energy can not find anything to attack.  It looks and looks, but there is no priest anywhere to be found.

Like a torpedo launched from a submarine with its own sonar, it goes looking for its target.  But if it can not find its target the torpedo returns to its source—the only thing around that is available to attack.  The black magician dies, a victim of the magic sent by his own will.

The Prajnaparamita ritual and/or akasha dissolve evil and malicious intentions.  But individuals still have the freedom to choose and to learn from the consequences of their actions.  You can never take that away without causing new karma or simply posting the karma to another place and time.  In this example, when the magician desired to destroy he ended up only destroying only himself.

The repertoire of a world class peacemaker would certainly contain such a practice.  It would be one of many methods at his disposal and to be used at his discretion.  And when he uses it, he does so as a servant and agent of Divine Providence.  It is about acting, as the beatitude states, as “the children of God.”

Consider A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.  Ebenezer Scrooge is taken on a tour through time by the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future.  The three ghosts show him the love he lost, the needs and love of those in the present, and his future.  The ghost of Christmas future shows him his final end, where he will be when he dies and how no one any longer cares about him.

The ghost of Christmas future is silent.  He does not speak.  But he has the power to reveal the fate of a person.  This is like being a magic mirror that embodies akasha.  Gaze into the mirror and you see your fate and also how to change that fate.  Well done
Charles Dickens.

Imagine that you have power over anyone on earth.  Imagine further that you can not interfere with an individual’s freedom of choice.  And you can also not interfere if an individual decides he wishes to learn from the consequences of his own actions—by seeing what he can get away with even as he harms many others in the process.

This is the attitude of akasha. It can easily determine another’s fate and how he or she has strayed from his or her original purpose.  It can not interfere with freedom of choice because each person has akasha inside.  Each person can determine his own fate.

But if an individual’s choices create great harm to others, then more than this one individual is involved.  In this case, the extent of the harm can be altered.  It can be reduced.

Individuals collectively learn from bad examples.  But if the injury is too great, the collective learning curve falls dramatically.  An asteroid can crash down and hit the earth killing millions.  Or it can illuminate the entire sky as it burns up glancing off the atmosphere from at angle.  In this case, in which the world economy is not thrown into recession from the devastation, human beings might get the idea that perhaps a little prevention is in order.

When suffering is too great, people are numb.  They go into survival mode.  Figuring out what happened is left to future generations who may not appreciate the lesson because they did not witness the events.

With akasha, you can not only show people their fate as did the ghost of Christmas future.  You can determine when that fate will happen.  You can suspend time, bringing closer to the present the karmic consequence that would otherwise take years or decades before it arrives.  You do not change what is to occur to an individual.  You just change the time frame.

In this case, an individual still has his freedom of choice.  But if he wishes to destroy, as much as is possible, you are free to allow his destruction to be limited to himself and not to many others he would take down with him. This is the Prajnaparamita ritual: you let the malice return to the one who sends it.

This is also Krishna in the Mahabarata. He talked to everyone involved in a coming war.  He sees all sides.  He did everything that can be done to prevent the war.  In a sense, just by being present with his transcendental awareness, Krishna determined the outcome.

This also Psalm 90: “You turn men to destruction and say, ‘Return you children of men.’”  Karma is the law that brings about destruction as individuals allow the negative side of the four elements to work within them.  But there is an akashic voice that says, “Return”—your dwelling place is with the divine.  If the silent ghost of Christmas future were to speak, he would say one word, “Return,” that is, return to your original purposes and not the ones that result from your twisted ways.

What I am suggesting is that a few individuals, when you are ready, assume oversight for human evolution.  We are due for a great deal of suffering in the future no doubt.  But much of this suffering can be prevented or reduced, especially that part that derives from abuses of power.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” To be a peacemaker, you have to find akasha in yourself.  This is not a casual study.  It is not an act of devotion or religion. They do not teach this in seminaries.  No evangelist or preacher has a clue as to its existence.  No monk in any monastery places it at the forefront of his consciousness.  All the same, it takes a lot of work and commitment.

The idea is to practice working with akasha until it becomes a part of you.  Then using them is a natural action like a river flowing to the sea.

The Mermaid Project

My study of women who have the auras of mermaids or who are actual mermaids incarnating as women comes from two sources.  While editing my book on Undines, I noticed that the undine queens promised me I would meet women who are actual mermaids so that I could better understand their race of beings.  To facilitate this end, I put out a global casting call for women who can portray through modeling, singing, dance, or the performing arts what a mermaid in human form would be like.  I describe some of these women who responded in my two books—Undines, Lessons from the Realm of the Water Spirits and the forthcoming book, Mermaid Women.

But there was a second agenda.  From studying mermaid empathy and love, it became very clear that the human race is astonishingly defective in terms of the love these beings embody in every moment.  As magicians, an individual works toward balancing earth, air, fire, and water in his astral body.  But if you look at the astral equilibrium of the human race, the water element is missing.

In my essay, Traits of Mermaid Women, I am not presenting superhuman abilities that belong to exotic creatures of a far away magical realm.  I am presenting what should be normal for human beings right now.  We are behind in our homework on the element of water, psychic empathy, and love.

This is especially important because to be a ghost of Christmas future is not just to use magic to bring about justice. Built into it is the mermaids’ capacity to appear within and to interact directly with others from within their dreams.  This is an activity of the astral plane.  Love not only connects to others.  Love interacts acts with others on a soul to soul and heart to heart level.

A referee needs to be a more complete human being, as much a part of nature as he is a part of the divine world.  This alignment with nature is necessary because mermaids for example have no ego.  When they relax, they are pure contentment, happiness, peace, and serenity in part because they are united to nature—the seas, the rivers, and the lakes from inside of themselves.

This inner peace is important because a referee can often focus immense energies and powers though himself.  Doing so, it is easy to become aggressive or biased due to the level of confrontation and struggle that occurs. Being united to nature from within helps the individual avoid the inflation of ego and the confusion and conflicts that go with having to define and to defend personal boundaries.

Mermaid women have no political ambitions.  They do not pursue abstractions or relate to ideals.  They embody love; they do not empathize with others. They are empathy.  Mermaids as far as I can tell do not wish to become referees.  Justice is a problem for human beings to solve.  It is not their problem.  Human conflicts do not exist within their realm.

Though a number of times I have gotten referrals from the mermaid queens in which they want me to meditate some situation where a mermaid has fallen under the control of a magician or another race of beings.  For the mermaid queens, it is okay if a mermaid acquires a human soul.  It is definitely not okay for someone else to compromise a mermaid’s ability to love.

A magician who can work with akasha also needs to embody mermaid love and empathy.  In which case, you then have an individual who can pursue the abstract idea of justice and the spiritual ideal of peace and who is also able to love and to feel with the same degree of skill.

An Evocation of the Chief Judge of Saturn

Method

I simply use my clair-feeling/clairsentient abilities to immediately evoke the vibration of Saturn into my self.  Then I study the vibration with the feelings, intuitions, perceptions, and imagery it generates.  Sometimes I “hear” its voice speak.  Is that literal?  Do spirits have tongues?  Do I listen with my ears? Does the voice vibrate in the air?

When mankind looks up at the sky and imagines that he might one day be able to fly and it then manifests after a hundred thousand years of time, was what he imagined at the beginning real or not?  A spirit’s value is in the way its wisdom can transform our world.  I am practical in my outlook.  My only interest in Saturn is in using its wisdom to establish justice on earth.

Akashic Plane

Saturn’s vibration destroys false attachment, eliminates waste, removes inefficiency, and dissolves inertia.  It says basically, Do not get stuck.  Stay focused on task.

It is an awareness of each planetary sphere, its limitations, its opportunities and realizations.  It tracks how experience develops from the novice beginning stage right up through the highest attainments.

Again, Saturn is oversight: it wants and demands that experience be used to learn and not to fall back.  Begin at the beginning.  Proceed though all stages of experience.  Achieve the highest attainments.

“I am your control; I am here to insure that you achieve in the end cosmic wisdom.  I am conscience.  And I am a warning system that is always there at the edge of your awareness reminding you that there always remains the chance that what you have can disappear in a moment.

“So make the best of what you have while you have it.  Take nothing for granted.  I am the voice of emptiness, the void, and the abyss asking you to create something of wonder from out of nothingness.”

Mental Plane

The mental plane is like the astral also. Because you have no attachment to the contents of this plane, namely, ideas, concepts, theories, theologies, doctrines, philosophies, etc. you are able then to see through all ideas.  The astral, by contrast, enables you to see through time.  The mental enables you to see through the limitations of the mind.

This is an earthzone spirit level of thinking.  You see the mental plane of an entire planet clearly.  Perhaps here or there or on occasion a Buddhist monastery or tantric practice attains to this level of pure perception.  This energy here is so casual, so completely available, so open and free to grasp, there are no years of training in some monastic tradition or with severe and rigorous repetition to free of the mind of its historical limitations.  The vibration of the enlightened mind from a Saturn perspective is vibrating right here for anyone who comes out here to meditate and to feel it inside.

There are stories about this kind of thing.  (see the 2004 movie, Warriors of Heaven and Earth for a rough example). The emperor of China needs some problem solved that threatens the entire empire.  He offers his seal to one man who then has the emperor’s authority and power in regard to all matters of the kingdom.

But you just don’t give this power to anyone.  You need an individual who is absolutely discrete, able to move incognito, able to search out the truth, able to command armies in a moment if that is required, able to move quietly and convincingly among the dregs of society if that is required also.  You need a covert agent who can think and act and be the emperor’s emissary—an individual who is never distracted by ego or the little things.

This is precisely what akasha itself is always looking for—someone to whom it can hand its immense powers of creation to fulfill a mission without ever being distracted by the desires and illusions that come with being incarnated.  It is looking for someone who has this Saturn vibration in his mental body: who sees clearly the entire mental plane of the planet, who sees through all ideas and ideologies, and who stays focused on thinking precisely those thoughts one needs to think in order to fulfill a divine purpose.

The enlightened mind is not found in a monastery.  It is found in a man of action who sees though time and locks in on what needs to be accomplished.

Astral Plane

This is like the cosmic letter E on the astral: you have no form attachment or identification though you feel, you appreciate, you are responsive, and sensitive and empathic.  It means the past, present, and future form one space time continuum.  You see through time the things that shall be and what has been.

This is a fantastic energy if you are interested in seeing the future.  It is an absolute nightmare if there are things inside your self you are not facing or things in the future you fear such as having to overcome your limitations, face your karmic weak areas and take responsibility for them, etc.  It is the three of swords and nine of swords in the Tarot—heartbreak and anguish.

It is the insight and enlightenment hiding deep beneath a broken heart.  Saturn has this idea that everyone at some point should be able to learn how to create love when no love is there.  So for Saturn it is natural to discover at some point in life’s journey that there is no love being given to you.  Rather, the task is not to moan or complain but for you yourself to become the master who teaches and inspires others to love so that they taste the divine blessings that love alone offers.

It is an astonishing, incredible, and utterly transcendent perspective, kind of like dying in a near death experience.  As some have told me personally you are given the option of remaining in the after life where you feel bliss or else going back into the world of suffering and offering others this incredible gift of tasting the love that they shall receive only through your presence in their lives.

Like I say in the story section of the spirit Emedetz, the world teachers enter the world with the divine fully active within them.  They do not receive love.  No one understands their purposes.  But they give love and light to others who otherwise would continue their lives in darkness.

It is a Saturn thing: to be so wise and perceptive that you wish to benefit others purely out of compassion, to assist them in their experience of life so that it is richer and moves forward toward absolute freedom.  Not an easy thing to do.  There can be no selfishness in you.  But it is a Saturn perspective: to see the limitations of life and the darkness and to find a way to break through those limitations.

It is not really about detachment. It is about attaining freedom, the freedom to create, as Saturn demands, from out of nothing—love, peace, kindness, compassion, wisdom, wealth, purpose, etc.

The voice of Saturn: “Everything that exists celebrates the mystery of love.  Love is everywhere and in everything.  It is in every thought, every experience, every sensation and sensory perception.  All power in the universe falls under its jurisdiction.

“If you call me to the astral plane, you will be at peace with the universe.  Nothing will be able to interfere with you.  Astral immortality is one of my gifts and the freedom to choose where you will incarnate.  You will be able to read the most obscure influences of the past, present, and future.

“On the astral plane, I am the light you enter when you die so that you see your entire life flash before your eyes. I am the insight that points out to you your best course of action.  I am pure inspiration lifting you up so that you rise to the level of a creator.

“The down side to this is that to hear what I say when I speak though your conscience you will have to feel at peace with the universe and be fully alert to what each moment of time offers.  Without these qualities there is a tendency to fall into despair when I am near.  I am not the voice of despair or its cause.  I am simply the dream of what you are meant to be flowing freely through you in each moment of time.”

Etheric Plane

Saturn here reveals the truth about what things shall endure and what things shall not endure.  It strengthens the enduring and destroys the fleeting.

To say the least this approach or attitude or psychic perception can also be incredibly depressing and oppressive.  Imagine getting into the college of your dreams and there you are as a freshman but you look around and see the final end of everyone you meet—where they end up in life, what they shall accomplish, and the vast number of opportunities they shall fail to take advantage of and the many failures that will befall them.

In other words, for every enthusiasm you experience within that excitement you see the waste and the value that accrues, not the dream but the result.

You want to fall in love but what you see is “she is not capable of love” but only of either being controlled or submitted to.  You find another lover and the same: she can give of her heart and soul but only if you embody the illusions within her dreams of riding on a magic carpet of social fads and glamour.

On the other hand, the etheric Saturn vibration gives you this sense of invulnerability: you are not attached.  You have an entire lineage with twenty monasteries inside your self.  You are calm, peaceful, outside space and time, transcendent, and incredibly perceptive as to what shall last.

This is the vitality and energy you need to establish justice and order in the world.  It is the Texas Ranger and the Imperial Censor of akasha operating with full power. In the domain and in regard to all issues of justice human and divine, it operates from a position of absolute sovereignty.  It is the entire justice system of the solar system and all appeal processes rolled into one.

Once again, it is the referee handing out a red card—it reminds everyone to play by the rules and to get back to the game as good sportsman and not as cheats.  There are rewards enough in life, treasures of limitless value to find, without having to steal or take from others for your self.

If there is something threatening your planet, your civilization, or your society, you can stand directly in the presence of this spirit and argue your case.

Negotiate, debate, meditate.  The spirit exists to facilitate justice as a balancing and operating principle. With this spirit here you can not complain that your race did not have an opportunity to take command of and to change its fate.  She is happy to alter the fate for anyone if the right price is paid—a degree of enlightenment, a willingness to act with compassion combined with wisdom, an understanding of her responsibilities so that you take charge and change things as her duly appointed representative.

There is nothing at all here of “it is in God’s hands.” This is all about God willing to sit right down with you and work with you in a reasonable and satisfying way to fulfill his and your plans.

Physical Plane

This is an awareness of all the limitations of the body and its mortality.  Conditions of birth, growth, development, and decline.  Everything supporting the body’s strength and stability, bones, functioning systems, birth, life, and death.

There is the reality that we have one foot in the grave our entire life but also the awareness of the immense power and strength that we can be built into this body we possess.  From Saturn’s point of view, there is as much power and energy and life available to you according to any purpose or mission you wish to accomplish.  Mars gives superhuman will and power.  Saturn gives superhuman endurance and perseverance so that you can defy the limitations of time when you need to do so.

The voice of Saturn “My physical presence is a cosmic emanation.  It is the concentration needed to shape time, space, and history so that what is brought into manifestation remains for countless ages.  If you open your heart, as mine is open, you can feel the presence beside you of all those in the history of the world who were motivated by true nobility and the highest spiritual ideals.

“For the weak and the unprepared, my presence is destruction.  But for those whose commitment is absolute and who are willing to embrace the truth of the universe, my aura is a divine fragrance.  I gather the nectar of love and beauty from the hearts of those who have accomplished the work of eternity which fades not away and which nothing can destroy.  In my eyes you behold the mirror dissolving the forms of time so eternity can appear.

“I weep not for what is lost even when it is by my hand that a world is destroyed.  Matter, form, space, time, and life have been created so that you might learn to open the gates of spirit and attain complete freedom.  Many ignore my voice when I speak.  They refuse my gifts and my invitations.

But there will a come a time when I will take away all that you have.  Then you will be left with the void where no sun shines and no stars guide.  In that place, there is no sweet rose, no waves or scent of ocean breeze, no wondrous and glorious trees.  Even the mountains leave no trace, no horizon, no paths to walk, no form to embrace.

“I will ask of each of you one day to become someone who delights in creating from nothing new worlds more magnificent and sacred than have ever been known.  You see, I have been designated to remind you of your destiny.  Each of you shall one day be greater than I.  If I destroy a culture, a civilization, a race, or a planet you will provide another in its place where love is honored and celebrated with greater beauty and grace.

“I am emptiness, darkness, the void and the abyss--the places of spirit where matter can not exist.  But you shall fill up my nights with works as dazzling and bright as the stars.

Learn as me not to weep when death and fate take away.  Renounce regret, sorrow, and loss.  Every ending, separation, farewell, and goodbye is a sacred rite in my eyes.  It contains my blessing and my voice.  It is a gift reminding you of who you are--that one day you will be without form or limitation.  The beauty of the universe will shine in your hearts and omnipresence will be part of everyone's art.

“If by your will and your might you call me to the physical world and survive the annihilation of form, matter, and time I emanate, then that very night you will discover that separation is banished forever.  I am the gateway leading to cosmic wisdom, a guardian of the worlds, and a member of the community which serves the One Light.”

Rules Governing Warnings

When an individual intentionally destroys his own conscience, no further warnings are given. He is free to live his life, to make choices and accomplish whatever he desires. But his astral body is frozen—without a conscience, he is incapable of learning anything new.  Everything experienced will only be a repetition of what has gone before.

The only remedy for this person, the only way to make amends, is for him to repair the damage himself.  He will do this only after things become so bad that finally, after all excuses, rationalizing, denial, and blame fail to bear results, he asks himself, What did I do that brought this about?

At that point, he is ready to begin a long journey of suffering until his conscience is once again fully operational.

In regard to an entire planetary civilization, when it no longer listens to its own conscience, Saturn will still send perfect and undeniably clear warnings.  But these can only be seen by those who look for them.

For a text book case study of a world civilization about to end, consider the one now existing on earth.  Three religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have already decided that prophets are no longer permitted.  But we, the forty-nine Judges of Saturn, are the final arbitrators of doom, judgment, and end.  If they are unwilling to accept them, then we shall not send them.

But rules are rules, so instead we send warnings in other forms.  Consider the mermaids who have now incarnated as human beings.  One of them is the Keeper of the Mermaid Archives.

Being more advanced than human beings in recording life experience, she has been sent in so that there might be an accurate and true account of what it was once like to be a human being. This is done not for human beings but for the benefit of other races that shall later appear on earth.

[Author’s Note: You know you have a little trouble brewing when the mermaids in human form talk to those of us who are living in the exact same way that they talk to the dead.  For the mermaids that are from the Other Side and who feel and see the past, present, and future, we—the human race—we are here alive now but we are equally already dead and gone.

But hey, everything is negotiable. You just have to pay the right price.  Right?

It was too bad about Atlantis.  Saturn’s game they were not willing to play. They did not pay.  And they do not play baseball on Saturn.  It is two strikes and you are out.  Atlantis was the first strike. We are at bat. Miss the ball the second time round and you lose your home town.

You want to talk about spiritual safety nets and spiritual benevolence? You can ask the Dalai Lama what it feels like to lose entire country—and this after a thousand years of highly skilled individuals seeking enlightenment.  A lot of good it did them in warning about future events.  Just like us, they did not feel that the spiritual had anything to do with the political.

Fools like Dmitry Medvedev, Hugo Chavez, and Ahmadinejad are about to cause you to lose your entire planet. Have you no conscience? What did you expect would result?]

Excerpt added into the records of Saturn--the mermaid’s statement of purpose before incarnating in human form.

These questions shall I answer: What it feels like as a human being to awake in the morning and to go to sleep at night, to be hungry and also to taste with delight, to cry tears of joy and tears of sorrow, to be born—to take that first breath--to crawl, to walk, and to fly. And without hope to lie down in the dust and die watching the last breath goes by.

What is like to dream, to seek and to find, to build, to invent, to scheme, to create, to ascend with honor and fame and to fall again into despair and shame.

What is the essence of a human being?  What was it for them to be alive? What purposes did they fulfill and what hopes were denied?  And above all else, what was love to them? Did they ever wonder to explore its depths? Did they ever once taste the love that holds this entire planet in its embrace? What inspiration came to them?  And when things were at their worst what decisions did they make that shaped their fate?

In regard to the human race and in accordance with our prime directive of Saturn—If the opportunities they have been given are not used or if they are abused, then what has been given shall be taken away.

What do you do with billions of souls if their race becomes extinct in the physical world? What is the most compassionate thing that can be done? That would be to offer them a planet in another solar system, one with far less natural resources since they were not wise with what they were given.  They can be relocated.  In the fullness of time, they shall have a chance of attaining again what they once had.

The timeframe is irrelevant.  The only thing that matters is that they learn: Do not take risks that threaten your own existence.

Rules Governing World Teachers.

If you would fulfill your mission, first teach another to feel what you feel and share your innermost dreams so that the two of you become one, for the perfection of love is not achieved until you create in another the essence of your own being.

Second, demonstrate that your love is free of attachment. To shine like the sun on earth you must first master and then transcend human need.
You may originate a world religion, but fail this test and the gift you offer mankind—the essence of your being--shall remain unseen.

An Open Letter to the Dalai Lama

With all due respect,
You want Tibet back?
As a temporary agent of the 49 Judges of Saturn
I’ll tell you the bottom line,
You do not deserve Tibet back at this time.
If you really want it, you can have it
But here is the karmic bind:
What you seek for yourselves
You will not find
For justice and peace first
Must be applied
To all human beings across the earth
Short and sweet—between the nations make peace
I personally will hand you Tibet in three years guaranteed
If my words you have the courage to heed:
Take thirty of your best disciples on earth
And for an hour a day
Do the Kalachakra, wrathful compassion,
Inside of dictators who cause pain and suffering
The Chief Judge of Saturn herself--right from her lips--
Offers you this tip:
A religion of kindness will never succeed
Until you and your disciples go one on one
With the malicious
Not until your hearts are more powerful than theirs
As in getting them to stop arming and harming.
It counts for nothing your large, solemn gatherings
Puga mantra-ing, robes, and Bodhisattva vows
When you are asked by akasha to fulfill this task:
Tear down the concrete and barbwire walls
Of North Korea, stop Iran from arming Hezbollah,
And other comparables
Specific time frames for real world tasks is what I ask
Fail in this endeavor
And Tibet you will have never,
What you seek for yourselves
You must first give to others
No one said life was fair
But like stone soup
You have to put in your fair share.

A Practice for Specific Nations in Conflict

Consider a crisis occurring between two nations.  The working out of karma individually and on a global level is a rich and complicated topic.  In this instance, I am trying to avert a nuclear confrontation between two nations. The karma can be worked on later.
The basic meditation I suggest goes like this. Focus on each of the heads of state of these two nations. The reason to work with these individuals is that they are the focal points for political and national decisions.  They do not need to respond to telepathic suggestions or energy/inspiration sent to them.  The energy/thought form goes to whoever is receptive to it but these two individuals serve as transmitters for that energy.  They are like the major pressure points for their nations.
To begin, visualize these two individuals in front of you. You introduce some akasha: the sense of penetrating through space and time so you have a real psychic contact with them in this moment.
And then, to put it in its simplest terms, you imagine you see these two men before you or you can also imagine you are these two men projecting inside of them.  The thought is:  "We are
reducing the tension of our conflict. We are de-escalating.  We get along perfectly with each other."
You visualize what this would be like as if it is true right now in
this moment.  You get a feel for it and imagine it concretely as an
overpowering reality.  As you do this, you sense that all tension and conflict is vanishing into thin air.
The problem is that there is an immense amount of pressure on these two individuals right now.  They are being bombarded by all kinds of thoughts and emotions from others.  There are all sorts of unresolved hostilities and hatreds extending back into history, all of which are attempting to become active and to be the deciding factor influencing these men's decisions right now.
To overcome the "tension in the air" or the psychological, psychic, and karmic pressure being exerted on these men and their nations as well, we create a counterbalancing set of thoughts.  The thoughts or "volts" we create, like lightning rods, serve to dissolve and banish the tension, hostilities, and negative energies.

Response:  Saturn is kind of an archetype. The reason in part why I hooked up with Saturn is that spirit after spirit kept telling me that humans have to learn through experience. As Bardon described one, they can assist mankind but only within the framework of our intellectual and spiritual development.  In other words, huge man made disasters are still on the table. Saturn, however, is more like "the court is now in session." Or, "are there those among you who are willing to take direct responsibility for political evolution?"

In which case, it is rather simple. Arrest and stop the bad guys from harming so many others.  Soccer and the NFL have referees—these men are representatives of Saturn on the playing field. Human beings have no such referees. In a pinch, human beings tend to screw up big.

Master the first three chapters in IIH and you have the ability to heal or to destroy--same energy work, different application.  But the inspiration and motivation of referees are altogether different. You have to get into the frame of mind that you are channeling an archetype--you are an agent of divine justice or of Saturn on earth. To pull that off an individual has to work with the idea of enlightenment, detachment, and identifying with akasha so they are as much a part of you as anything else is a part of you.

Email Question: Where is this Manual of Saturn you quote from?  I want to understand better how to work out karma.

Response: The Manual of Saturn is a work in progress. Akasha which is in each planetary sphere acts to oversee development of individuals and societies. Karma is in a way making the weak elements strong and the negative ones positive.  By confronting difficulties in life the nature of the elements reveal themselves inside of us and in the world around us.  We are all in the process of learning.

There is a strong relation between the aura of our planet—the earthzone with its akasha--and Saturn. But the earth is more interested in individuals learning from experience. Saturn is more like a judge and a probation officer who gets involved and intervenes after reviewing individual case studies and histories.

The earthzone has the attitude of “let's learn everything we can here folks.” Saturn is more like “let's arrest and stop the bad guys from harming so many people.”

The earthzone will create prophets. Saturn will create referees who hand out yellow and red cards like a referee in international soccer games. Get a red card and you are out of the game.

To be such a referee requires an absolute commitment not just to becoming enlightened for your self--a minor activity actually and rather narcissistic to boot-- but rather committing to the entire world attaining enlightenment.  This happens when a planetary civilization ascends and is no longer dependent on physical existence in order to learn or to serve.  Ascending is another kind of beginning and a basic benchmark in a civilizations progress toward attaining to cosmic wisdom.

Question: I am working hard on balancing the elements in my astral body.  Review for me again how this process works on a collective level in terms of the danger that is there if balance is not attained.

Response:  Human beings are incredibly self destructive.  They take risks that threaten their own existence.  Here is the problem.  There is a geometrical acceleration in the development of technology.  Even without wars, human beings will figure out some other way to destroy themselves.

I heard a conversation today: "Look at that--what they put into the Windows program! They never really used it but now it is there and you can't remove it but it doesn't seem to be doing anything."

That could be a conversation not by a computer programmer but by a genetic engineer discussing nanotechnology and how some minor nano structure ignored and forgotten comes alive and turns all life on earth "into mush."

I think we will be around another thousand years. I am just trying to buy the human race a period of stability over the next twenty years. Iran with a bomb will set the human race back fifteen years at least in its political and economic development.  It is bad enough with the security measures now but imagine with threats not of cartridges in luggage filled with explosives but having terrorist with bombs trying to nuke a major city.

From a karmic view point my view is that if you help humans survive their catastrophic incidents you assume a responsibility to fill in for or teach them what they are lacking.

You have to appreciate my perspective--the global, collective astral equilibrium is terrible deficient in water--they don't know how to love, feel, use empathy, or sense directly what is going on inside of each other. If they did, they would still have a choice to use this psychic empathy in a destructive way. But, without enhanced love which entails direct psychic awareness of how to circulate energy in and through others, human beings end up taking greater and greater risks which threaten their own existence.

Magicians who work on personal astral equilibrium have to become at some point the "conscience" for others to help them sense danger and pursue balance when their own conscience is lacking.  Now that is a judge of Saturn on earth operating in human form so as to accelerate the working out of karma on a collective level in the most beneficial and non destructive way.

But with emergencies and dangers it is wise to consider always worst case scenarios. Failure to worry about survival is a sure way to end up extinct.

So, in other words, I am asking for individuals who play their part as the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future for others. Work with their astral bodies, their emotions and souls and intuition.

The pace of technology is just too great to have people saying things like, "Gee, I really never thought about that problem. I thought everything was running okay."  With horses or trains or even jets you can do that and get away with it.

But with new technologies in bioengineering and other things appearing and advancing in a few years there has to be a much higher sense of protecting and nurturing .  The attitude now is still “Let's play our knowledge for all it is worth and see how much power it will give us.  Oh yes, and let us continue to give our new technology to our dictators as soon as something new is invented.”

Still, ask any mermaid woman if she thinks human beings will be around long and she will say straight out, "No." But for mermaids a thousand years is nothing at all.  Their astral bodies are virtually immortal.

Human beings on earth, even the best, take three times more energy out of the biosphere than they give back. If you give the human race cheaper and more efficient energy they will use it to increase their power and not to reduce conflict and live peacefully.

Rogue nations like Iran and N. Korea are a test of the political evolution of the rest of the world. Can democracies do what is necessary to insure their own survival and watch over the economic development of the world?

It is a test of evolution--to answer what is fair, what is just, what leads toward peace, and how to deal with the destructive energies that exist.  Should the democracies fail we will end up with a global police state.

Question:  You present the concept of a referee in terms of the vibration of Saturn.  It is hard enough working through the elemental realms and contacting spirits of the earthzone. To get all the way through the planetary spheres out to Saturn seems something only a very few will ever achieve.  To what extent can an individual learn to work as a referee without actually projecting his mind into the sphere of Saturn to study its vibration directly?

Response:  If the U.N. Security Council would do its job you would not need referees at least in the political sphere.

If they fail to do their job, the entire planet turns into Texas in the early nineteenth century. And then some guy comes along and says, "Hey Scott. I am what is called a Texas ranger. We go out and arrest the bad guys and bring them in. If you have a better idea of how to do this I would like to know. But Texas at this time is a wilderness with rogue outlaws operating using their power as bullies to harm others. All I need is a man with a fast gun, a horse, and a willingness to say to the bad guys, 'Surrender peacefully or else draw your gun.'"

That is the world in which I live. I have a N. Korea which Divine Providence is furious that the human race allows to exist.  I have Iran giving thousands of missiles to Hezbollah and if they get the bomb they are going to want to use it to extort, threaten, and even use it in some way or another.

It is not even a Saturn thing.  This is about setting up a neighborhood watch--how do we organize so as to keep an eye on protecting our neighborhood? At some point, society requires lawful authorization of individuals to use deadly force to enforce the law. If the human race fails in this endeavor, then it is up to magicians to come through. We are part of the human race. We need a stable global environment to do our thirty or forty years of practice.

Method is simple. The first three chapters of Bardon contain everything else he teaches in some form or another. You get good at the basics. As I said on my facebook page in a footnote, just imagine you are doing your breathing exercise but transfer you consciousness into some extreme malicious dictator. Use empathy so you imagine you are him reliving his entire biography. And then you simply breathe out vitality in this body without replacing it when you breathe in. Bullies are supercharged with energy. Reduce their energy and they lose their effectiveness in a dramatic way.

Life force is sacred. But you have to guard it and protect it if you are going to treat it as sacred. Some disease you have to surgically remove because its very presence annihilates what is healthy around it.

Many will object to my position.  But this is not rocket science.  One, two, or a few individuals in every century (think Churchill, Hitler, Roosevelt, Stalin, and Mao) make decisions which determine the fate of the world.  If no one assumes the responsibility of a referee to watch over the conscience of these individuals, you end up with wars; and these days you risk the extinction of your species.

Question: We are on a very beautiful planet.  What would we lose if we become extinct and end up being relocated to a different planet?

Response: I may be wrong but I draw the conclusion that the mermaid queens on earth are almost unique in this galaxy. A mermaid queen inside of a woman's body would be the most perceptive creature in this galaxy. Some of the mermaid women I do know in human form are astonishingly receptive, empathic, and intuitive. Like in an instant they can literally place their astral body inside of anyone else on earth.

Now a Bardon magician can do that through an act of concentration and will but these women can do this without effort because the water in their aura on an astral level is linked to all other water on earth. Having written fifteen stories about mermaid women, I am trying to present this concept of heightened empathy, love, and feeling to the general public. None of the world religions grasp it or teach it.

Ultimately, the universe is a very destructive and violent, but also beautiful beyond understanding. It doesn't matter where you are. The universe itself is beauty, wonder, awe, joy, and love. But it is a great journey to grasp this.

On the other hand, we are on a planet where we can stand outside and see the stars without being killed instantly in the process from a hostile environment--thus human beings are astonishingly gifted when it comes to astronomy. We are way ahead of most other intelligent species in the galaxy in this science.

It would be beyond comprehension of the human to become extinct, but it is as easy to do as it was for the Dalai Lama to lose Tibet to the communists.  Nothing in his training or in nine hundred years of seeking enlightenment prepared them for a confrontation with the modern world.

Lose this planet and you lose one of the most beautiful and spiritual enchanting planets in the galaxy.  This will not happen on my watch if I can help it.

Question: When I start thinking about the concept of a referee, I get very involved in wanting to quickly deal with malicious dictators on earth.  How would you approach this topic if you had it to do over?

Response: If I had it to do over I would have worked more with the water element and the related cosmic letters like M, CH, and W.

Water as in freezing cold can slow down and ever paralyze individuals when concentrating on them.  And water is an expression of love so you are never far from inspiration.

From the beginning I was working with akasha similar to the cosmic letter U.  This cosmic letter U is an empty void like a very big space with nothing in it and nothing that can appear of substance, energy, form, sensation, light, sound, etc. It is like Saturn in also being a mirror that is perfectly empty which is also a pure reflection of whatever it gazes upon revealing the original nature and essence of anything.
In that frame of mind or stance there is no ego involved in the process of interacting with bad guys. There is no me present.  It is just pure concentration.
Looking at chapter three of IIH you can sit inside of some leader practicing your breathing exercise but in this case you are simply breathing out the energy from their body as vitality or the energy of all the levels within them. It is just an ordinary kind of relaxed "Oh, here I am again practicing my breathing exercises and let's see oh yes now I'll sit inside of this individual and breath his vitality out of his body for the next fifteen minutes.
You can get so you actually sense his vitality and can move it around.  This is handing out a red card.  To fight a war, someone has to feel like fighting a war.  If you take away their energy, limiting them as Saturn does over a longer time frame, they no longer feel like fighting a war.  A referee is directly responsible for the conscience in others—like a judge, he limits others in various ways so that hopefully they can learn to live productive lives rather than pursuing destruction.

But ultimately there is no I versus them. It is you being the other’s best friend. Jesus ranted against the Pharisees but Krishna really got into the role of destroying the destroyers but first very much like the ghost of Christmas past, present, and future he would very calmly talk to everyone involved in a conflict knowing their secrets in advance and ask point blank: Is there anything you are willing to do to prevent the coming war?  And he really tried to mediate and make peace and resolve conflict but he also understood people have their choices to make and that for everyone it is a learning experience.

So he could turn to one of the brothers involved in the conflict who was fighting on the wrong side and as the guy was about to die he said, “After a long journey we will meet again.” It is kind of like that.

Even the malicious dictators are going to be around perhaps in the future somewhere and at that time they may be on the side of the light willing to fight with courage when no one else can.  Enemies have a way of turning into friends.  Great teachers never give up on anyone.  But then the guy turns to you and asks, "Why did you shoot me dead or turn me in to the police?" And the response is “it was the best thing anyone could have done for you at the time.”  It saved you from doing things you would later on regret for many life times.
Again, it is the Texas ranger—“I am here to arrest you. This is my job. Now if you are not going to surrender peacefully then draw.”  It is nothing personal. It is best seen in a surgeon who operates on patients on Wednesday mornings.  He wields his scalpel and saves lives.  The rest of the week he is either doing consultations and exams or else he is out playing golf. He is very professional and very relaxed because he has the Scorpio vibration of not being in a pit but rather soaring like an eagle whose eyes see what needs to be done and his claws get the job done when a serpent must be grasped.
So put simply it is nice to meditate and contemplate the object of peace work, imagining you are the other’s biography and looking at him from all sides and aspects and points of view before connecting.  That way you have a better hold and grasp on the other and are more connected and so it is much easier to work with the other’s energy because it is like working with your own.
The research I am doing with the mermaids allows for this instant inner empathic and contact with others.  The mermaids would make perfect ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future which is purely an astral plane action, but they are all one hundred per cent love and there is no awareness of justice or ideals or missions in them other than to be here as observers and to love.  One mermaid woman is on a divine mission but only if you can comprehend mermaid psychology which is “Oh, let’s help out humanity. There may be no trace of them one day so we’ll send you into record what their lives were once like for future races.”

She is wonderful.  She is my mermaid mythology in living form.
Long ago, when I was in the mode of “blasting” various individuals I think it set up some really awkward vibrations around me which made it difficult for others in my personal life.  It is hard enough communicating or relating to others when I spend time literally each day in the inner planes.

But if I spend time in the inner planes and it is destroying things in a big way as in, “I will destroy you” (because you--the bad guys--are not afraid of death, terror, or pain but I have a little something that even you will try to escape) that does carry over to a vibe which others simply have no idea of how to relate to.  Thus the mirror cosmic letter U emptiness stuff and the feeling of being in and a part of nature especially as water as a positive, life affirming vibration.

Question: What is the rationale again and current agenda for a referee?

Response: Saturn is relevant because it relates to ways of working out karma. All the spirits of the spheres exist as teachers and eventually we are meant to take over their influences and responsibilities even as a child eventually learns the roles of the adult.
I got an indication that there would be a problem with Jordan at some point over the next ten or so years. The king there needs some insight and the capacity to deal with the destructive intentions of small groups. That is along the lines of inspiration.
I had the Tibetan nuns work for me on doing the Prajnaparamita ritual which basically dissolves negativity. You concentrate in on a leader of a nation and his aura acquires the ability to dissolve negativity and hostility as he performs his duties.
Put simply, you take a leader, whether he is positive or negative, and you imagine that he is a perfect leader for building enduring institutions of great value that last through time--hospitals, education, infrastructure, the economy, the judicial system, diplomacy, civil rights, etc. If he responds to the imagery and energy, it furthers his influence and effectiveness. If he chooses to pursue instead power and corruption and war, then the positive energy focused on his aura undermines his authority and people around him sense he is wrong and no longer trust him.
That is one version of healing and inspiration.
However, it is possible to temporarily get even the most malicious individuals to briefly see the light and act positive. It is just not who they wish to be and at some point you have to allow them to exercise their free choice. In which case like Saturn but more actively you bring about the results of their own karma which is self-destruction.  With the right people in the right neighborhood, there is no need for a cop to come around. But human beings are incredibly self destructive and so without a cop authorized to use deadly force it would not be too long before someone entered a house and killed the family simply because they can do it and get away with it.
Similarly, for justice to fill the earth there must be spiritual police, agents of Saturn--combining cop, prosecutor, defense attorney, jury, and system of appeals. Here is the trick. If we form an organization with individuals acting together you get very rapid and effective results. But in forming an organization karma is created.  The original inspiration is easily lost.  The group gains its own momentum and no matter how long it lasts it eventually tears itself apart or loses any effectiveness.
So the work I envision requires individuals to make their own contact with Divine Providence. You do not need to actually evoke or talk to spirits. How much clearer can it be said than blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God? or, “wars shall be no more?”

It is a practical matter--how do you set up a neighborhood watch to insure crime does not occur in a neighborhood? How do you train and authorize police to work a beat? Or, how do you train individuals to commit to the ideal of justice and peace on earth and have the actual power to accomplish this and to effectively without failure to intervene in a crisis to insure that power is not abused on a massive scale and in a harmful manner all over the earth?
The Bardon system, just the first chapters carefully mastered, is all the training that is required-chapter 3 allows you transfer your consciousness anywhere and increase or decrease vitality or any of the five elements.  But the commitment and ideal takes more--it takes a body of literature and art and reflective self awareness that genuinely inspires people to come through as in “Blessed are those who find the divine within themselves, for they shall create peace and justice shall fill the earth” and “Blessed are those who unite opposites within themselves, for they shall lay the foundation for a new world.”
There is a sense of connection that occurs, not so much in an outer organization but in an inner connection to each other on the astral plane and also to the spiritual world. It manifests in dreams and visions and feeling inspired. Or as one law enforcement officer wrote me--he closed his eyes and opened the Bible at random and picked a verse, opened his eyes and it read: “They shall beat their swords into plow shears ....” from Isaiah which I often quote. Even the Bible gets in on the act of inspiring.
Right now for a great many reasons I am seeking to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons.  It is not an ideological, political, or American perspective. I am just trying to buy the human race another fifteen years of economic growth and technological development which it desperately needs to deal with future problems.

Iran with a bomb would set the entire world back fifteen years at least.  If they can give ten thousand rockets to Hezbollah in Lebanon they can give away a bomb just as easily to Peru or to anyone they want.  This would insure a global police state.

Without strong economic ties to each other, nations turn into bullies just like the guy in the neighborhood who knows if he an get away with something then he feels he is free to do it.
Some individuals have already destroyed their conscience from my point of view. No further inspiration is possible.  You can force them externally through economic and political pressure to cooperate and work for peace but at present they would rather die as I mentioned than give up their nuclear programs for weapons.  Of course, corruption is all over the earth like BP. But to have the time and energy to go after and inspire corporate giants first requires a stable world free of countries and their leaders seeking to pull out the cornerstones that support an already fragile international system.
The world is constantly changing. Divine Providence says things to me like “We are furious at the human race for nations like North Korea to exist.” The injustice is that great.

This concept of a "referee" as in my video on referees is implied in the Bible especially with Jonah and Balaam. But little is actually done with it other than Pope Leo who by himself went out and stopped Attila the Hun from sacking Rome. But it has always been there in the divine world.
There are countless ways to resolve problems through all sorts of magical and non magical means. The human race will again and again in many different ways, sometimes through boredom, sometimes through over enthusiasm for its scientific experiments, walk right up to the edge of a precipice and think about jumping in.  The magician needs to act as a conscience for others, a warning system, to assist them to not engage in actions which threaten their own existence.
It is as much art as magic. It takes a feel for what motivates others and an awareness of worst case scenarios and risk benefits analysis.  The wrong people with great power are very dangerous and need to be carefully monitored and then if necessary either inspired or simply stopped.

Question: Can you talk about placing causes in akasha and also at what point an individual can begin working with the cosmic language?

Response: Bardon is kind of like a Ph. D program or the navy seals of the military.  Do you need to be a navy seal to pick up a gun and shoot it? Do you need to have a Ph. D in psychology to understand yourself? No. Having the rigorous practice gives you an immense advantage but not every one needs calculus to understand the math on the grocery bill.

The cosmic letters are also poetry and drama and surround us in every moment. The blue sky is the cosmic letter A as is the night sky and art and breathing.  We are already practicing all the cosmic letters in a sense just by being alive.  They should teach the cosmic language in poetry class and in high school. Anyone can sense it if they have the imagination to look for it.

Though if you are sent on a covert operation behind enemy lines you will appreciate having the training of a navy seal.

Placing causes in akasha is tricky. Bardon mentions you are responsible for the energy and effects. In other words, it is a good idea to limit it to yourself unless you have a good reason to do otherwise.

A wish in akasha is an intense concentration of exactly the result you want as if it is real right now. But the energy gets pulled out of your life and aura in some way to make this manifest.  So it is even better to put the energy into the wish right from the beginning.

For example, you make a big ball of vitality and visualize the wish in it and place it or imagine it from the beginning in akasha. You can also use some other color or a cosmic letter that is related or an element, etc.

It is even better to place several energy thought forms on different planes. The akasha for the purpose, the mental plane for the idea, the astral plane for the feeling or emotions that goes into it, etc.

But that gets complicated. An electro magnetic volt is also powerful with electrical energy inside of a magnetic ball and the wish placed in the volt.  But those set off lots of side effects since they accelerate the results.

So, for example, imagine that nice cute girl you see at the library who, without you knowing it, has been thinking how much she would like to meet you.  So, go introduce your self.

But if there is some immense obstacle, then you might resort to the use of magic.  You could place a wish in akasha and you get around to meeting her next month or year. You place a ball of energy in akasha and she walks up to you and introduces her self next time you are in the library together. Not much effort required in either case.

But what if she is a lesbian or bisexual and has a girlfriend already.  Now using magic to meet her and get a relationship going is going to take some effort.  The magic has to overcome the obstacles so the amount of concentration and energy in a volt or thought form is proportional to the level of difficulty involved in manifesting what you want.

I want Iran to not get nuclear weapons.  If I were the only one with that interest it would take a lot of energy but I could still accomplish it if I were younger.  If I put a thought in akasha, however, and work on it so it is very powerful others who have my interests would start to think my thoughts and pursue my goals.

If I put the energy into the thought form and connect it to the mental and astral planes, others begin to have exactly the same ideas I am thinking and my same feelings.

But the leaders of Iran would rather die than give up getting nuclear weapons. You don't exist for eight thousand years with constant wars going on and then give up on acquiring a final weapon that is all powerful.  There are eight thousand years of history to overcome to get to peace.

You have to work at a thought form until you get what you want.  The learning in the process may require that you reinvent your magic or strategy or find another way to accomplish your goal.  The divine may interfere and tell you that you have to change your goal or proceed in a different manner or compensate for some side effect. The divine or life may tell you that you have to become a different person to get what you want. The end goal is fine but it is only given to you when you are the person you are meant to be. It is a creative venture.

Question: There have been examples of radio shows in which the host has gotten millions of listeners to meditate for a few minutes on some problem like a forest fire in some state.  And then he gets great results as if magic make the problem disappear.  But there are also side effects in other cases which led the radio show host to avoid this practice.  Is working with masses of individuals in this way a good idea?

Response:  Working with masses of individuals in meditation will certainly catch on eventually as a cultural phenomenon. People learn from experience in dealing with side effects. But then imagine some country like N. Korea having a million soldiers all concentrate on some objective because they learned it from a radio show.  Imagine a hundred million individuals in some religion concentrating on destroying their enemies and then another group discovering that there are ways for only several hundred individuals to do the same thing more effectively by utilizing more advanced magical techniques.  Then you have psychic wars.

The spiritual world is ready to solve the energy crisis by revealing new technologies but how can you give this to a race that will immediately use cheaper energy to run centrifuges to enrich uranium?  Similarly, give humans better means to solve problems through meditation and some groups of humans will instantly apply that knowledge to destructive or selfish ends.

A malicious or black magician can certainly work with Saturn. But place a good magician and an evil magician in the sphere of Saturn and have them both meditate on akasha there—for the bad guy it is kind of like going into a police stations and yelling, “This is a stick up. Hand over your money.”  It is not going to go over very well.

I got in trouble just having three people concentrate together--not that I didn't like the result, but the results were definitely not politically correct as something to teach publicly.

So I am kind of cautious about groups of individuals working together because groups always generate karma--if you hand people power through a structure like a group then inevitably there is a power play to take over that group; or else by depending on a charismatic individual the group risks loss of inspiration when that individual is no longer available or functioning well.

I like the Jupiter idea of a spiritual community--which is a spiritual connection among a number of people.  It is okay to consult, interact, and even set up a circulation of energy and exchange of gifts with each other, but once you set up a leader or an authority there is the struggle to take over the leader's “position.”

In the Old Testament idea of a prophet, you could have one or more prophets at the same time but each is directly responsible to God and not to each other. I like that a whole lot.

I can however imagine in a pinch that if I had a really mature relationship with one or more psychics who happened to possess something like telekinetic powers as a few I know have I could then unite souls with them and place their abilities under my conscious direction to solve a problem or crisis. As the general said in movie, Wargames, “I'd pee on a spark plug if it would solve the problem.”  The rules operating in emergencies are different.

Question: What are some of the other spirits closer to earth that deal with political evolution?

Response:  There are lots of spirits that specialize in political evolution.  One is the spirit of one degree of Virgo in the earthzone, “Peresch.” Bardon says he “controls all political events in our world.” He follows the orders of Divine Providence and takes into consideration the intellectual development of mankind in regard to assisting in political evolution.

Another is sixteen degrees of Pisces, “Fermetu.” Bardon calls him the “great creator of peace.”

In the lunar zone, Bardon say of the eighth spirit of that sphere, Eneye: “He is a lover of peace …and is able to assist people who follow the high ideals of peace, truth, and justice.”

Achaiah is the seventh spirit of the sphere of Mercury. I have an essay written about him on my website.  His commission is testify to the glory of God by resolving any conflict that blocks an individual’s path to perfection.  He is very talented in working with all situations of conflict.

Question: You mentioned about the threat of nuclear war when you were young.  What actually brought about your focus on the idea of a referee?

Response: In 1979, I place an electro-magnetic volt in a small horseshoe magnet according to Bardon’s instructions in IIH.  The vibration I put into that volt was of the spirit referred to as “Cigila” in Pisces in the earthzone.  My intent was to gain some inspiration regarding a divine mission I could concentrate on.

Cigila teaches methods which enhance an individual’s spiritual and magical development in order to fulfill such mission.  You want the training and inspiration? Then commit to a spiritual purpose.  The cliché—a purpose driven life--takes on a real meaning in this case.

Cigila is a wonderful spirit. He embodies a cosmic inner stillness and a love that is pure compassion. He has the kind of heart I think most people would love to meet in the form of a human being.  His commission is to reduce suffering on earth when that is possible. But this requires individuals on earth to be receptive to his inspiration.

What happened almost immediately is that I had a “special” dream in which I was shown one possible future in which the U.S. had placed a missile base underneath the ocean. This angered the Soviet Union which felt threatened by that military base location.  In the vision, there was a nuclear confrontation and escalation leading to nuclear war.

Within a few days of having this vision, I met two other people who had the exact same dream.  This was when I was in Tucson, Arizona.

I had been practicing Bardon’s books for four years and had already acquired an unusual spiritual gift—I could instantly feel the aura of any person or spirit I focused on. I then used this ability to ask a number of spirits in the Bardon system about how to prevent nuclear war.

The problem involved karma—what are the various ways to resolve problems in the political arena without simply postponing them to a later date in time. You can through force of magic stop someone from doing something, but you can not take away their free will if they wish to destroy themselves. You have to give them the opportunity to learn form experience.

I could find no spirits who were in a position to rewrite human evolution and fate.  You can postpone disasters, but only for so long. If you play in a reckless way with (nuclear) fire, you eventually get burnt.

The vision I received, inspired by Cigila, was a referral to two other spirits.  One was an extra-planetary spirit embodying the cosmic letter U.  Its approach was that if you simply join the minds of all the leaders of nations with nuclear weapons they inevitably end up working for each other’s interest.

This is kind of like giving mermaid empathy to enemies so that they can sense each other’s deepest needs and feel them as if they are their own.  Again, individuals can choose not to use this inspiration, but then the energy of the inspiration begins to work against them.

The other spirit was a higher spirit of the earthzone, not one of Bardon’s, who focused on how each national leader could embody an attitude of working to produce those results which were the most enduring and of the greatest value for their nations.  It took both spirits in combination to change fate.

But then the oddest thing happened.  If it is possible to prevent nuclear war through magic, human beings will still figure out how to destroy themselves and become extinct.  The mermaids kept pointing this out.

Without the ability to feel and to love in a way that is “normal” rather than the level of love what we now possess which is horribly defective, human beings lose their survival instinct.  They blindly pursue every possible scientific and technological experiment until they self-destruct.

The remedy for a race that now possesses cosmic powers in its weapons and technologies is to possess an equal level of cosmic wisdom or enlightenment.  If you are going to assume power over matter and energy, in your consciousness you also need to assume responsibility for fate and destiny.

This is the role of Saturn which says, “Do not become obsessed with the power to create and destroy in the external world; first become free in your spirit.  If you are going to take cosmic powers into your hands, you must also embody cosmic justice.

“The laws of the universe are perfectly clear on this point: if you expose yourself to the powers of creation while one or more of the four elements remain negative or weak in your aura, you create a fate. You will then inevitably experience the destruction that results from your elemental imbalance.”

And so my mermaid project is also an attempt at cultural engineering or divine enchantment. How do you get human beings to take an interest in learning the one thing our civilization is the least interested in learning—how to feel what others’ feel?

You do this by enchantment—you write stories and do art with and based on some of the most beautiful women on earth. You present in great detail the pleasure, bliss, ecstasy, and rapture these women experience.  You describe what it is to feel endless love in every moment of time.

The mermaids already walk among us but until this time they have always been in disguise.  You merely give them voice and opportunity to form a community among human beings so they can appear in movies and have their biographies published and read. You get them to teach healing, give seminars, and explain how they feel and perceive.

Then the human race has another chance—it can absorb into itself the mysteries of love and empathy that are embodied in these beautiful beings who are from the realm of water that exists within nature.

Four Horsemen

Four men riding horses
Halt by my gate
The rider of the pale horse dismounts
Offering me the reins saying,
Child of Saturn
Wrath of compassion
Annihilation of attachment
Tonight you ride in my name
Work must be done
Before the rising sun
If you wish peace established on earth.

A Song for the Forty-Nine Judges of Saturn

I was Balaam

I spoke to God face to face

I never sought to taste His grace

I sold my abilities to the highest bidder

I opened my mouth to curse Israel

But only a blessing came forth:

Now spoken in Hebrew morning prayers

Around the earth,

“How goodly are your tents, Oh Jacob,

Your dwelling places, Oh Israel.”

Though the divine I did betray

I am here to say,

There still remains a way.

I was the Prophet Isaiah

I wandered naked for three years beneath the desert sun

To proclaim the destruction that was to come

I was the object of ridicule and scorn

But what I saw came to be

I also spoke of peace

That war shall be no more:

There will come a day

When men discover their divinity

The darkness in the human heart shall pass away

I am here to say,

There is a way

I was Saint Columba

I lay down in the dust to die

With despair did I cry

I searched for God’s face

I tasted God’s grace

And I, I’m here to say,

That in spite of all the pain

There is a way

I was a Magi, a man most wise,

In the sky, I followed a star

I saw the Messiah both near and far,

The angel Gabriel interpreted my dreams

He told me

Life is not what it seems

The beginning and the end

Are either an enemy or a friend

It depends on what you intend

And I am here to say

There will come a day

When all suffering shall pass away

Love shall take birth in everyone

And in the end we shall all ascend

I was Saint John of the Cross

I turned away from the sun

I made darkness my friend

Because love I did intend

The outer world lost its grasp

My heart it could not clasp

Its hold over me did not last

I was set free

I crossed all boundaries

And in spite of the endless pain

The wandering in a dark void of agony

I am here to say

I both died and was reborn

In the arms of love.

I was William Blake

The voice of the Bard spoke through me

On my lips

The taste of eternity

Though I wished for a voice of thunder

And a heartbeat forged from lightning

To speak with that brilliance

And with that fire

I was content

Because God did impress in my flesh

The ecstasy of two who melt together

In bliss and rapture

And so I am here to say

This wonder shall never pass away

Hidden in the breath of every man and woman

Lies a voice of thunder

And a heartbeat forged from lightning

With that brilliance

With that fire

Words wait to express

The beauty of the universe

An Angel Appears to Jacob

An angel appears to Jacob

And with that angel Jacob does wrestle

For a blessing

That his children might be

As the sands of the sea

Thirty eight hundred years later

An angel appears to General Ehud

Of the Israeli Defense Forces

As he down shifts his jeep,

Rolling to a stop,

With a cloud of dust and the jeep’s exhaust

Washing over his face

On the outskirts of Tel Aviv

And Ehud says to the angel

Without pause, hesitation, or wonder

As if speaking to his intelligence advisor:

I have this problem with Iran

Can you give me a solution,

Resolve the conflict,

Make peace instead war?

Because we only have a hundred bombers

And this will be no six day war.

The angel replies,

You are a general.

You know how to command--

You say to this man,

Do this, and to another man, Do that,

And they obey

So your will is fulfilled

And your orders accomplished.

And though you know how to order a preemptive strike

To prevent an attack

Your arsenal is defective to a critical degree

For from your lips I do not hear

The consonants and vowels

That commanded the stars to shine

And set billions of galaxies in motion

In the fullness of time.

What! General Ehud exclaims,

You are offering me a weapon of absolute power

That can destroy any enemy?

I must have this weapon

That my will might be fulfilled

And that what I plan might become real

So that one day I can touch it with my hands.

Very well, says the angel,

Repeat after me,

And so saying the angel spoke

The sound of “U”

Which the general then spoke too.

Where is this place?

Asks the general,

There are no signposts, no landmarks,

No roads, no mountains,

No cities, and no seas?

You must understand, General Ehud,

The power in God’s voice

Can fulfill any desire

And make real any dream

But there is a small price—

You must step outside of time with your mind

To before the mountains and seas

Were called into being.

What are you asking of me?

And angel replies,

You see, it is the destiny of your race

To enter a place

Beyond all separation

Where only oneness exists,

Because the heart desires to taste

The Joy and share in the Celebration

That called the universe into being.

How can this be? Asks the general,

You ask too much of me—

I give orders; I am a man,

I have boundaries to defend,

Realistic objectives, detailed plans,

And a limit on the time and energy I can spend.

The angel replies,

Look into my eyes,

In this moment,

My heart is joined to the heart

Of every being that loves throughout the universe.

I am everywhere and within everything

But far, far more—

I can restore the original nature

To any creature or created thing--

Untwist it, unbend it, remake it,

Renew it, purifying and empowering it to boot--

This is my power

And with these wings I fly

Between the stars.

(And I tell you,

That then and there

On that dirt road outside Tel Aviv

When the general heard those words

He grasped their meaning

And joined with their creative energy,

The general pulled a Jacob—

One worthy as his descendant,

With a will slightly greater

Than Alexander, Genghis Khan, or Julius Caesar--

He seized the treasure before him:

He entered the angel’s mind

And saw through the angel’s eyes

The mystery of space and time,

That we are not separate, not you or I,

But are one through the power

Of the words we speak

And the way our hearts seek.)

And taking this weapon into his hands

The general entered the mind of his enemy,

Into a place of heart so deep, so great

Nothing can oppose it or overthrow it:

Two men became friends

The stars shown above

The running waves of the sounding sea

The mountains and the trees

They spoke of peace

As the two agreed

To fulfill each others’ needs,

To dream each others’ dreams,

And to share as brothers might share

An inheritance of will, power, and love

That with care can transform the world.

Thirty years later as Ehud is about to die

The angel again appears to him

And Ehud asks,

Did I do well or did I sell short the gift you gave?

The angel replies,

One of the original purposes

Behind creation is to learn the art of peace making.

Because in this universe

Things are not always as they seem--

No limitations have been placed

Upon the dreams you may dream

Or the visions you may seek.

But there is a price:

You must learn to see through God’s eyes

To love with His heart

To envision with His mind,

So that in the fullness of time

You shall master His Art:

To make all things new.

This is, to say the very least,

Expected of each and every one of you.

A Short Version of Bardon’s System

There are endless ways to teach magic. 1. For five or ten minutes each day recall, reconstruct, and imagine something you have experienced.  Eat breakfast again in your mind; listen to the song again--play it back. Watch a scene from a movie or repeat a conversation.  Work through everything you experience on a daily basis. During each session of practice, stop and focus for a minute on just one perception--sight, sound, taste, smell, or touch.  There are for example at least thirty different ways you use your lungs to breathe--when you eat compared to when you talk; when you read compared to when you walk.  Be aware of and recreate each through imagination. Pursue equally all other physical bodily sensations. Learn to perceive without thoughts intervening.

  2. And feeling--learn to feel without judgments or beliefs intervening.  Track and learn to playback, enhance every feeling, observing its opposite and redesigning it so it flows like a stream in a dream so there is no cork in a bottle locking it up.

3.And thoughts too--hold one thought in your mind like a sentence you slowly repeat again and again observing how it affects your body and feelings and jogs your memory.  Treat thoughts like light—make them laser sharp or something to use when you wish to illuminate the dark.  Turn confusion and conflict into harmony as a test of your skill.

  4. And anything of the "spirit"--any deeper intuition or realization: replay it, recreate it.

Magic appears when you can look around and imagine you are seeing the world for the first time and feel wonder: that at the edge of each sensory perception are infinite possibilities and that your life--what you perceive, feel, and think--is an artistic creation; that in each moment you are an artist writing, editing, and rewriting your own script.  Life and magic are both performing art. You must fully internalize the part you choose to play if you wish to project who you are.

The difference between magic and New Age thinking is that you are not switching software, from negative to positive thinking. You are upgrading your hardware so you can run programs this age of humanity knows nothing about.

Saturn—Job Positions Available

The Forty-Nine Judges of Saturn—take your pick

Job Title: Referee or clerk to one of the forty-nine Judges of Saturn, guardian of political evolution on earth

               (see also article: http://williammistele.com/referee.htm

And for Saturn, “Finding Saturn in Your Self” see:

                        http://williammistele.com/saturn2.html

Requirements: Work through all training and spheres up to Saturn

Method: It could not be simpler.  Simply meditate with one or more judges here or just with the akashic vibration of this sphere.  And then share your meditation with the dictators of earth or with anyone who attempts to interfere with the development human evolution in a significant manner.

Advantages: learn to operate as a law clerk to one of the forty-nine Judges of Saturn.  It is like being a clerk to a Justice of the Supreme Court of for example the U.S.  You get to experience first hand the work of fate and karma and how the positive and negative principles work to lead mankind in the end to attain to cosmic enlightenment.

My web site is dedicated to the enlightenment of the world.  The planet on which we dwell has a divine design.  Whether or not mankind shall attain to that vision is another question.

All the same, one day there shall arise a race upon our planet earth that attains to this vision: of being one with the universe and perfectly enlightened to boot.  I have seen it.  I have tasted it.  I have been inside of it.  It has been shown to me.  I know how to bring it into being.  But the price is very great.  Then again, it is a price I am willing to pay: for I am madly in love with the beauty of the universe and there is a part of me, no matter how small it may be, that knows without a doubt that you and I and everyone on earth are one.

Now back to Saturn: Like a clerk, you get to research case law, review past cases, write summaries, suggest questions for judges to ask during oral arguments, write up drafts for findings and judgments, cases to be accepted or rejected, appeals, etc.

In other words, you get to do the work of Saturn on earth.  There is also a rumor afloat that a position is available for someone to sit upon one of the thrones of the Judges of Saturn.  Being a clerk would look nice on your resume.

Disadvantages: it is rumored that a premature evocation of a Saturn spirit results in immediate death.  So, go slowly.  The vibration of Saturn does not tolerate fools.

Also, the Saturn vibration hovers over one’s aura at all times.  You will need to compensate by doing extra homework in the spheres of the sun and Jupiter so you shine very bright and offer opportunities instead of gloom and doom.

Some also say that it is very depressing to talk to these spirits since what they do is to severely restrict individuals and entire evolutions.  But it is no different really than being a probation officer, a warden, a case worker, bailiff, or an officer of the court in any number of capacities.  Without a strong and effective judicial system, injustice reigns in a society.  Without law and order, evolution is severely compromised.

Some may consider therefore, as I have mentioned, that the price is too great.  That argument is exactly what led to the fall of Atlantis.  The Chief Judge of Saturn came personally down to the earth to seek a clerk to prevent the fall of Atlantis. But since no one was willing to apply for the position the continent and civilization were destroyed.

It only takes one.  Without even one then there is none and fate determines by default the outcome.

The Cosmic Letters U and E

Introduction

Bardon describes akasha in a way similar to the cosmic letter E in Initiation into Hermetics.  The letters E, U, OE, and UE have the fifth element of akasha as part of their components.  Other letters like CH, H, and B have a relation to akasha through the color.

Almost every day I am inside of the cosmic letter U not so much as a three sense concentration.  I just get into that frame mind—vast open, empty space that penetrates through space and time and which reveals and restores the original nature of anything that exists.  It is a resource I find useful to draw upon for inspiration, especially since I work with the Saturn vibration.

And so I present a few essays, one on the cosmic letter U and another on the letter E.

                                             The Cosmic Letter U

      Introduction

Among the 27 cosmic letters, the letters E, U, UE, and OE specifically refer to the akashic principle.  Letters such as CH and H, by virtue of their violet color, have some analogy to akasha.  Akasha, as the source of the four elements, is also the source from which the entire physical universe manifests.  For some, these akasha based letters may present a higher level of difficulty.  Let’s take a look.

Franz Bardon attributes the color black as in shiny or ivory black as the color for this letter of U.  The sensation is akasha as in penetrating through space and time.  What is the color black doing among these cosmic letters?

Bardon refers to akasha as actually being colorless.  It is outside of the visible spectrum of light.  He uses dark ultraviolet as in the cosmic letter E or black with U as a way to approach the vibration of akasha.

The color black has many cultural and spiritual associations, some good and some not so good.  While on Iona, Scotland, I entered a Christian hermit’s cave by the ocean.  The energy in the cave was remarkable.  The early Christian saint who lived there had a sense of a great war between light and darkness.  Christ has sometimes been referred to as the light of the world.  Darkness must then be bad, huh?

The Hawaiians have a saying, “When the sun appears, everything falls into place.”  But we also have the song, What a Wonderful World:

I see skies of blue, clouds of grey, the bright blessed day, the dark, sacred night, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

And of course,

          Silent night, Holy night

Of course, we could say God is the creator equally of light and darkness.  I mentioned to someone one time that given the rate at which black holes form from exploding stars, our galaxy probably has around ten million black holes in it.  I then asked, “What does that tell you about God?” The person replied, “God likes darkness.”

And ninety-five per cent of the matter in the universe is dark matter.  It does not emit any radiation detectable by science.  In other words, no light shines from most of the universe—it neither radiates nor reflects light.

Human beings are said to be a microcosm of the greater macrocosm.  We are described as being in the image of God.  In Quabbalah, we reflect in ourselves the wonder and powers of creation.  If we assume this, then any genuine system of initiation or spiritual transformation will have to come to grips with the side of life and spirit that is dark—the part of life that is unseen, not easily known, and completely outside of the normal range of our perceptions.

We have been working with the sense of sight and the perception of color.  We could also relate the color black to a kinesthetic sense of touch.  Instead of black, we could say empty as in nothing to touch.  Space is empty and obviously has no color.  Is empty space bad?  Nothing can appear, no light, no form, no objects without space to contain it.

Various religions have attempted to work with akasha along similar lines.  In Buddhism, Prajnaparamita is described as being the Mother of the BuddhasPrajnaparamita is emptiness.

In Taoism, Wugi is like the Tao: it is formless, undifferentiated without opposites existing within it.  Everything derives from Wugi

In fact, there is a movement and form involving Wugi in Tai Chi Chuan.  One master refers to “raise hands,” the first movement in the longer form as starting from a state of Wugi in which masculine and feminine or yang and yin are undifferentiated.  As you begin to raise your hands, you move from Wugi into the feminine.  As you raise your hands to where they are fully extended, you move to maximum yang.  Then as you lower your hands you return to yin or feminine.

Raise hands contains the entire longer form within it.  Some masters have students practice raise hands for six months before learning any other moves.  That was the old way.  Taoists like Wugi.  They might even say at times, “No one can push me over because there is nothing here to push against.”

Imagine the incredible difficulty prophets of the Old Testament had in trying to present a religion, unlike the surrounding pagan religions, that emphasized akasha exclusively as being the primary attribute of God.  How do you teach that God has no form or image?  He is not a bull, cow, or calf.  He is not a reptile, dog, or cat.  And he is not in human form hurling lightning bolts at his enemies to retain his power and authority.

But like akasha, he wishes to assert his presence and perspective when it comes to establishing harmony on the three lower planes—in clarity of thought and plans on the mental plane; in inspiration and purity of motive on the astral plane, and through justice and prosperity in the physical world.  We might easily conclude that the prophets of such a religion had an impossible task and were doomed to failure from the beginning.

In Psalm 90, however, the writer makes exactly that commitment.  He says, “Oh Lord, You have been our dwelling place through all generations.  Before the mountains were brought forth or ever You did form the heavens and the earth, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God.”  The writer of this psalm says our dwelling place is with a being who predates the creation of the universe.  To make a statement like that you have to be in love with akasha.

Of the 27cosmic letters, the letter M is called the mother letter.  All that is feminine and yin arises from it.  CH with its ties to the moon is another of the most feminine letters.  But if there is a third, it would be this letter U.  Though within it there are no opposites, it is still fantastically feminine.  And, as I mention on the astral and physical levels, it is quite romantic in practice—when separation is overcome, two become one.

In a group discussion one time I described a woman as being empty, meaning she has a marvelous receptivity.  Another woman who was present took immediate offense at that description.  But I meant it as a compliment.  The womb has the quality of being empty as in Lao Tzu’s saying,

One who has the wings of a man and also the wings of a woman is in himself/herself a womb of the world and being a womb of the world continuously, endlessly gives birth.

Akashic Plane

Three Sense Concentrations

The cosmic letters are energies created by three sense concentrations.  For color, shiny black or ivory black.  As I practice this, I get a sense of the color as being completely receptive, almost tactile.  It takes you back to the origin of something before any form appears.  As black, it can receive impressions of anything or of any nature.

For the sensation, this is not the sense of penetrating through space and time typical of what Bardon attributes to the dark, ultraviolet color.  This sensation is like the Taoist Wugi—it is undifferentiated without the presence of any form, mass, or energy of any kind.  This is not penetrating because there is nothing to penetrate.  It is a state of being without separation or differentiation.

The sound is the note of “B.” In this case, it is like the “sound of silence.”  It synchronizes with the color and sensation as if it is vanishing into or merging with them.  As with this sound on the three lower planes, it dissolves anything that distinguishes or differentiates one thing from another.

Basically then the letter U on the akashic plane is underneath all opposites.  It is the source from which they arise.  The four elements are spun out of it.  There is no Aries or Libra, no Leo or Aquarius.  It is the source of the entire Zodiac.  There is no earth, air, water, or fire.  It sings each of these into being through its voice.

The Buddhist Heart Sutra discusses the issue directly by taking the point of view of akasha in regard to human experience:

Sariputra, form does not differ from emptiness: Emptiness does not differ from form. Form then is emptiness. Emptiness then is form. Sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness, are also like this.

Sariputra, all Dharmas are marked with emptiness.... there is no form, no sensation, perception, volition or consciousness. No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body or mind; nor form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or Dharmas.... No wisdom, and no attainment, with nothing to attain.

Because the Bodhisattva is the Perfect Wisdom of emptiness, his mind has no hindrance. Having no hindrance, there is no fear….

In feudal societies, most people have their role in life assigned to them.  They have very few options or choices when it comes to making plans for the future.  Consequently, it is beneficial to retreat into akasha.  It makes sense to just let go of your frustrations and passions and become nothing as you mediate in the temple.  Done meditating, return to your assigned place in life refreshed.  Your worries and anxieties have dissolved.

The Heart Sutra above is a superb example of viewing life from akasha.  Of course there is no fear—if you have no identity, no ego, and nothing you need worry about then you have no hindrances confronting you.  It may sound very strange our ears, but someone way back when really understand the cosmic letter U at least in terms of the akashic plane.

I am from a different society.  Freedom of choice, of expression, and determining one’s own direction in life are absolutely essential and part of the foundation of good government.  I am from a pluralistic, post-industrial, and democratic society.  How on earth does akasha, as in the cosmic letter U, find a way to enter my consciousness without undermining the need for individual choice and action? If you have within you an awareness of being nothing, how do you act and take responsibility for the world?

The image that comes to my mind as I mediate on the U in akasha is sitting in a theater after a play has been performed.  Perhaps you acted in this play. Perhaps you wrote it or directed it.  Your friends were in audience and among the actors.  You even know critics who will review it.  You had dinner with one last night.  You know the two individuals who financed the play.  You know the janitor who cleans up.  And you know the custodian who will lock up the theater tonight after everyone has left.

Now everyone has gone except you.  The lights are out.  The theater is empty.  But you have decided to sit in front of a large mirror which you have dragged to the center of the stage.  A few beams of moonlight from a high overhead window dimly reflect your image.  The moon soon sets.  You watch as your reflection disappears into darkness.  No more your handsome face.  Not even the mirror is seen.

Now there is nothing.  No applauding audience.  No bowing actors.  No play.  No images, no form, and no action.

And you reflect--the mirror is not gone.  It has not lost its reflective power.  There are just no images appearing within it.

And you reflect—this could be the original Globe Theatre in London late in the night after the first performance of King Lear.  It could be a theater in ancient Greece after the performance of Antigone.  It could equally be after a performance of Hamlet in a theater in a Mars’ colony a hundred years in the future.

Briefly, you slip inside the mind of Sophocles.  You see the play through his eyes and why he wrote it to reflect the issues of his age. “Bitter is the price of wisdom,” Sophocles’ thinks and your face briefly takes on his expression.

You slip inside the mind of Shakespeare.  His thoughts become your thoughts.  You laugh to yourself the way he laughed when he wrote one of his jokes into the script.

You ask yourself, why has art appeared among human beings?  What part does it play from the cave paintings in 35,000 B.C. to all the variety and forms it takes today?  What is its origin in human consciousness and why do we seek reflections of ourselves?  Why all this passion for action?  Why drama?  Why desire and pleasure?  Why pain and the quest for gratification?

Consciousness is like the mirror.  In the darkness, the mirror is unseen.  When the light is on, we use the mirror in so many ways.  Endless is the array of images and motions.  And you reflect—we are the mirror.  We are the origin and within us rests original being.

In the movie 2001, in one moment apes acquired tools and advance.  In another moment, we stepped onto another celestial body.  And in a third moment we made the transition from material being to pure spiritual being.  Time and history separate these moments of transformation.

But in the mirror, in the awareness that underlies all consciousness, there is no separation of these moments—no ancient Greece, no modern world, no future colonies.  All action arises from the same origin: the power to shape and to create has always been within us.  Like the mirror in the darkness, we know it is there but only ask about its nature at the moment when everything is about to disappear.

Yet this source is closer to us than our breath.  Our five senses are spun from out of it.  Every fiber of our being is a part of it.

Art reminds us of this truth—how easy it is to identify with characters who are not us.  How familiar the conflicts and passions of those from other ages.  And whether past or present, how incredibly easy it is to become trapped in our self-image, the images, roles, and routines assigned to us or that we have invented, fabricated, and made up.  How strange that we identify ourselves with the brief images that appear in the mirror and forget that the creative power of the mirror is also who we are.

This creative power?  It is to understand anything and to discover the original purpose underlying anything.

From the point of view of U akasha, when we wake up in the morning from dreaming we could be the mind, soul, and body of anyone on earth.      U akasha is this awareness of everything—time, history, every individual thing and identity—there is no separation.

I am sure you imagine how easy it would be for someone who suddenly sees life from the point of view of U akasha to feel overwhelmed.  All the everyday things they used to take for granted as being important are suddenly called into question.

But as the Mahabrata might say, “Original being is never without action.  It remains decisive and strong when all others’ wills fail them.”  Let us move then to the mental plane to see how this mystery plays out.

It is too bad that Christianity has no practice involving akasha.  It is counterproductive to say the least to talk about compassion and love if you have no actual method for feeling empathy with others—with establishing a connection to them on some level.  And if you stir into the pot the spice of seeing others as sinners and evil, well, you write off the opportunity to love right from the start.  I suspect if Christianity has such methods at its disposal they are sealed off and locked away in first century manuscripts hidden down in the forgotten corridors of the Vatican library.

Tibetan and Mahayana Buddhism do have such methods.  I used to hire Buddhist monasteries for five years to visualize specific world leaders and practice the Prajnaparamita ritual while meditating on them.  Part of the Prajnaparamita ritual is reading aloud the Heart Sutra.

A story.  An evil magician in Tibet has the power to kill others with his magic.  And now he has stated that he is going to kill a Tibetan priest. The Tibetan priest meditates on Prajnaparamita, a lot like the letter U.  In fact, the cosmic letter U on the akashic plane would be virtually the same thing.

The priest meditates: there is no separation.  There is no enemy.  There is no attack from an the enemy.  And there is no one here to attack.  There is no identity—only emptiness and oneness without separation.

And now the evil magician unleashes the full power of his magic against the priest.  It is the power to destroy, annihilate, and obliterate.  But gee, this massive will and energy can’t find anything to attack.  It looks and looks, but there is no priest anywhere to be found.

Like a torpedo launched from a submarine with its own sonar, it goes looking for its target.  But if it can not find its target the torpedo returns to its source—the only thing around that is available to attack.  The black magician falls dead victim of the magic sent by his own will.

The Prajnaparamita ritual/cosmic letter U akasha dissolves evil and malicious intentions.  But individuals still have the freedom to choose and to learn from the consequences of their actions.  You can never take that away without causing new karma.  So in some cases, if individuals desire to destroy they end up only destroying themselves.

If I might be so bold, the repertoire of any genuine world class peacemaker would certainly contain such a practice.  It would be one of many methods at his disposal and to be used at his discretion.  And when he used it, he would not be acting as a human being but as a servant and agent of Divine Providence.  It is about acting, as the beatitude states, as “the children of God.”

Mental Plane

The shiny, ivory black color on the mental plane says “I am the source from which all the specific opposing forces and polarities you are considering arise.  They take their birth from me; they are a part of me, and yet they do not express all of me.”

Is capitalism opposed to communism? What is the source from which they both arise?  Or, what do all systems of economics share in common?  What basic problems must they resolve regardless of the ideology?

Are you in conflict with another person? What is the source from which you both arise?

Like the akashic plane, the sound dissolves into the color and sensation.  Here it heightens your vision in the process—it dissolves your illusions and limited concepts allowing you to perceive more clearly from the whole rather than from a specific perspective.

The sensation also is like the akashic in that it is undifferentiated but here it is more specific.  Take the opposites and various components of whatever you are considering and unite them as one energy so they are no longer separate.

Fire and water?  Try gasoline, a liquid but with a high potential to ignite.  Or how about alcohol or liquor? A liquid with “spirits” in it.  You can drink it.

It depends on the situation confronting you.  Put them together, unite them, and find their common source.

How about will and love?  Their common source?  Compassion.  Or altruism, justice, idealism—it depends on the situation you are considering.

What is in common source between a writer and the big publishing houses? Their common source is a reader enjoying what has been written.  This is what unites and draws the writer and the publishing houses together.

How does the akashic plane differ from the mental plane with the letter U? I site the example often as mentioned in Wikipedia:  At the age of fifteen in 1950, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as the head of Tibet.  This was one month after China invaded Tibet.  In 1954, the Dalai Lama met with Mao Zedong in Beijing.  In 1959, the Dalai Lama fled Tibet.

However, in 1954 at the meeting with Mao Zedong, Mao told the Dalai Lama that religion is the opiate of the people quoting Marx.  China had been treated terribly by England.  The East India Company during the 1830’s, acting for and within the national interest of England, shipped tons of opium to Canton, China.  It traded the opium for manufactured good and for tea.  The trade wrecked havoc on China producing vast numbers of opium addicts.

So when Mao said that religion is the opium of the people he was saying that religion is a means to enslave and repress a population.  Religion is an economic disaster that destroys industrial development due to its close alliance with imperialism.

Tibetan Buddhism has a truly magnificent understanding of akasha on the akashic plane.  But when it comes to how akasha asserts its harmony by balancing the four elements on the mental plane, well, Tibetan Buddhism is a disaster waiting to happen.

If the Dalai Lama had wise counselors, they would have kept their minds attuned to mental plane questions like what is the situation and what are our options and choices. And what resources are available to us to solve these problems?

But the young Dalai Lama did not have access to such wisdom.  Entranced by akasha and entangled in the routines of a feudal society, Tibet failed utterly to establish embassies and alliances with other nations to guarantee its survival as a nation.  It had no cultural exchange.  Entranced by akasha, it failed utterly to acquire even the most rudimentary understanding of how it was a nation among other nations.

If the Dalai Lama had wise counselors, he could have handed Mao a copy of John Nash’s 1949 thesis which explained that there is no class warfare.  There is instead a nonviolent point of harmony between any two opposing parties.  Furthermore, for any economic system to succeed you must factor in individual motivation in order to reach the highest level of productivity.

In other words, Chinese Communism will somehow have to allow for the people to be represented in the government if it is to succeed.  The Dalai Lama could have said simply, “The karma is that if China represses religion and individual freedom it will inevitably change into its opposite—before you know what has happened your communism will become capitalism regardless of what you call it.”

The Dalai Lama could have applied akasha to the mental plane by saying “Obviously you are about to invade Tibet.  Nonetheless, here is the situation and here are your options and choices.  If you continue to blindly follow an aging ideology, you will end up killing thirty million of your own people through your economic mistakes and seriously delay your inevitable rise to power among the nations.”

[On the other hand, if the Dalai Lama’s counselors were intelligent enough to have read and understood obscure papers on economic theory and conflict resolution, Mao probably would have seen them as a resource to be put to work rather than as an obstacle to be overcome.  He would have placed them in charge of running his economy.

Trust me on this—any dictator or other on a quest for absolute power for good or for evil design will, without doubt, always and forever be on the lookout for wise and trustworthy counselors he can rely upon.  They ease his burden and make life more satisfying.]

The conflicts, the components of conflicts, and the entire set of variable and options we confront as we think about the future are derived from the akashic plane.  Akasha is their source.  You can bet that there will always be a path of harmony somewhere to be found on the mental plane.  You just have to attuned your mind to akasha to understand the specific shape that path takes.

Franz Bardon says “The ‘U’ oscillation evokes the highest form of intuition and inspiration in the mental body….”  I imagine that intuition here would indicate what the right thing to do is from the point of view of akasha.  Again, it would indicate the path of harmony between the opposites and conflicts we confront with our minds.

In the movie 300, the wife of the king of Sparta says to her husband, “Forget about religion.  Forget that you are king.  Just ask yourself as a man, “What is the right thing to do?” To say what she said was actually a greater act of courage than the king who was moved to action by her question. The right answer to this question will lead you to akasha as it moves through the mental plane.

The poet Gary Snyder’s Zen master said to him at the end of his studies, “The perfect path is always easy; strive hard! (to attain it).”  The path between opposites is always there.  The world is created from a oneness that knows no separation.  The obstacles and opposition and conflicts can be incredible.  But a path is there to be found.

In Homer’s Odyssey, the Greek gods looked down with favor upon Odysseus.  This was because he was clever.  When there were problems no one else could solve, he could find solutions.  He did not limit himself to one point of view or perspective.  Over and over, he takes everyone’s point of view into consideration and then he acts.

As for inspiration, I imagine that it is to move through life without feeling that anything is opposing me.  As in, “I am not in opposition to anything.”  We have heard the command, “Love your enemies.”  From the perspective of U, our enemies are not our enemies.  They are a part of a greater mystery unfolding.

The Dalai Lama was asked, “How can you feel compassion for the Chinese when they have murdered a million Tibetan monks?”  His reply was in effect to say that “like all of us they are struggling to find their way through life, to have their basic needs fulfilled.  How can I not feel compassion for them?”

The cosmic letter U is rather insistent when it comes to the things that oppose us.  It says, “Use your intuition and inspiration to figure out what you have in common with your opponents.  Discover the awareness that underlies both of your lives.”

Imagine two American Indian tribes in the seventeenth century.  It is true that some tribes were known as peacemakers such as the Menominee in Wisconsin.  But we are considering two warring tribes as a simple substitute for warring nations.  Akasha says to them, “Do I not provide the same sunlight to fall on both of you, the same rain, and the same moonlight?  Do I not provide the same fruit and crops and animals to hunt?

“Is the breath in one of you more valuable to me than the breath in another of you? Is the blood in the veins of one of you more valuable to me than that in the veins of another?  When you meet your enemy, you should treat that person as if his soul is part of your own.

“I have created both of you—I am the same electricity beating in your hearts. If you know me you would also feel and understand this.
“You can go on striving against each other and carrying on your wars.  You can go on doing this for a very long time.  But in the end if you wish to survive you will learn to work together.  And if you wish to ascend—to create with my power—you must learn that you are one with each other.”

Franz Bardon also says that that the U oscillation “renders it possible for the Quabbalist to explore and master his own karma and its modification.”  In other words, you can step out of the role you are playing on the stage of life.  You can leave the stage stepping out of your assigned role and go out and sit in the darkness of the theater among the audience.  From there you can observe the drama of your life being played out.

You do not have to play the role assigned to you. You do not even have to act in a particular play.  There will always be drama and choices to be made.  But amid the drama and choices you can shine like the sun and the moon or you can be a candle that has burnt out.  By your choice you determine your fate.  And your choice is shaped by the light within your heart.

And so we return to Shakespeare’s drama of a prince.  Hamlet confronts one of the most difficult decisions found in world literature.  Hamlet is commissioned by a ghost to establish justice in a kingdom when there is no real evidence of a crime having even been committed—just the emotional utterances of a ghost, now a lost soul or worse, maybe a demon in disguise, claiming to be his father and that he was murdered by Hamlet’s uncle and mother who are now the king and queen.

Review the mental plane questions: What is the situation?  What is the bottom line when it comes to options and decisions?  What resources are available for arriving at the right solution? And as always, What is the right thing to do?

At first it appears Hamlet rises to the occasion.  He must conduct an investigation without anyone knowing he is doing so, otherwise if the ghost is right and any suspicion arises as to Hamlet intentions, Hamlet will be dead in the night.  And so Hamlet trusts no one.  He pretends that he has mental problems.

His investigation is brilliant.  One of the resources available to him? A troupe of players are to perform a play in the court.  Hamlet rewrites the play (you have some privileges if you are a prince) performed for the royal court that gets the king to betray himself by revealing his remorse.  And later Hamlet obtains on the sly an actual confession from the king as the king prays to God of the great wrong he has committed.  There it is: proof way beyond all reasonable doubt.

At that very moment, Hamlet has the power to strike.  By his own hand, justice he can met out—kill the king and no more haunting by the ghost and justice is done after a fashion.  After all, Hamlet is prince.  The kingdom by all that is right now belongs to him.  A king establishes justice in accordance to the options available to him—winners get to write the history books and in doing so set up the lighting for the foreground and the background—so readers have a “clear” perspective in viewing a chain of events.

Hamlet hesitates.  Because the king has confessed, he will not go to hell if he is killed this night.  And Hamlet feels that such a crime this man has committed in killing a king out of greed and lust for the king’s wife does not merit heaven as a reward.  Better that justice is done after the king has sinned.

But this is all pure, unmitigated rationalization.  Hamlet’s hesitation in no way moves toward answering the question, What is the right thing to do?

Options?  Back to our resource—actors are also capable of improvisation.  After all, Shakespeare wrote this play so that people like me a long way away could sort out Hamlet’s options.  These questions face anyone and not just an imaginary prince—the Dalai Lama, Gandhi, Mao, Hitler, Nixon, Mandela, Yeltsin, Putin, Napoleon, George Washington, Bhutto, etc.  What are my options as in what is the best way to revolve conflicts amid opposing forces?

Hamlet could have sequestered the actor’s troupe in a barn somewhere.  Offered gold now and a theater later when Hamlet is king.  Grant them royal patronage.  And mention that if they betrayed his secret he would know because they would be dead before Hamlet—to kill a prince you must use caution; killing actors can be done by whispering one sentence to a few hencemen.

And so Hamlet his actors in a barn.  He explains to them the inciting incident about the ghost appearing to a prince and so forth. And now Hamlet commands, “I want to see some spontaneity and truth as you act out five scenarios about what this prince can do.”

Our actors rise to the occasion.  I mean, who has ever asked them to really act, to perform art, so as to decide the fate of a kingdom.  They throw themselves into their parts.

In the first scenario, the actor playing Hamlet pretends that nothing is wrong.  If the prince acts like nothing is wrong, then there is no problem. The prince publicly proclaims his loyalty to the new king.

And one night when having a night cap with the king in private, the prince says he feels awkward saying this, but his mother looks so much happier married to the new king.  She is so radiant.  Her previous husband was a real drag and Hamlet never did like him.  And then the prince stumbles off as if, since he is drunk, he has already forgotten what he said.

The actor/prince then says in an aside to the audience, “The king and queen actually trust me.  They come to rely on me.  And now I wait for the king and queen to slip up.  It may be soon or it may take years, but I will have my revenge and it shall be sweet.”

Hamlet says, “And now for your second scenario.”

The actor playing Hamlet pretends his has mental problems and disguises his investigation in search of solid evidence of the king’s wrong doing.  But as the actors play out this arc of the plot, Hamlet gets killed.  It is all just too obvious.  The king and queen are suspicious right from the start.

Hamlet says, “I have seen enough.  And to think that I thought I could get away with doing precisely that.”

I think you get the idea.  Consider your options.  Discover and use your resources.  Learn to ask the right questions of the right people at the right time.  Is Hamlet done? Not by a long shot:

Hamlet: “I understand the wisdom of the first scenario.  I call it survival.  But I find it very distasteful.  Can you explain how you as an actor could possibly remain silent knowing that such injustice has been done and appearing to do nothing about it?”

Actor playing Hamlet: “That is quite simple, my lord.”  And taking another actor and whispering in his ear, the actor sits upon the throne and says, “In this brief scene, the prince has now been king for ten and five years.   And, having married his sweetheart, who has not committed suicide, they have a son.  And the son asks his father, “Tell me father, how could you have managed to remain silent all those years knowing that the king had actually murdered your father the true king?”

“My reply?” says the actor speaking rhetorically.  “I tell my son this: I did what was right--I waited for the right moment to strike.  Rather than risk a civil war with so many innocent killed to make a point, I found a way to establish justice without having to build on a foundation of destruction.”

And Hamlet walks up to the actor, puts his hands on his shoulder and says, “I see your point.  I just do not know if silence such as you portray does so deep through my soul flow.  If patience be a virtue, will my soul not rot under its tutelage? Will I awake in the dead of night with a ghostly fright and think to myself, ‘I would rather be dead than to live one more day having to pretend that the king and queen are righteous knowing in truth that they are malicious.’”

I would like to introduce into the play Krishna and the Bhagavad-Gita.  Remember Krishna, he is the one said, “I am never without action.” Krishna spoke to Arjuna amid two great armies about to engage in war.  And Arjuna’s heart failed him for he look across the field and saw his life long friends and teachers among the enemy.

But Krishna spoke to Arjuna saying, “I have become your friend that light might be preserved on earth.”  And then Krishna guided Arjuna through the deepest fibers of his being.  He said,

I am the infinite, eternal, and the immortal Self--no fire can burn, no water dissolve, no air dry, and no sword pierce…. Before such gory space melts away into nothingness, time vanishes into non-existence, and causation dwindles into emptiness.  Ranging beyond names and forms, passing free into woods and forests, mountains and rivers, into day and night, clouds and stars, passing free into men and women, animals and angels, as the Self of each and all am I. Truth flows from me just as light radiates from the sun and fragrance emanates from a flower...I am the transcendental bliss, the absolute intelligence, the supreme synthesis of consciousness that shines in the shrine of every heart.

Krishna is a nice stand in for akasha.  You can write characters and dialogue like that into the Mahabarata.  But this is impossible for Shakespeare in Elizabethan England.  Instead, we might imagine our little troupe of actors suddenly having an inspiration.

An actor says in an aside, “I take you to King David’s bed as he dies and speaks now his last words.  And these are his very words spoken not to his son Solomon but rather to our prince when he awakes at night in a fright.  Let the prince recall this scene we are about to play out:

King David: “The spirit of God spoke to me these words—He that rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.  And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun rises, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.”

“Think about it,” the actor goes on, “if he shall be as the light of the morning, there must first be a night.  I mean you have to listen carefully and analyze the verb’s tense.  I know that you already like comparisons involving predicates--“to be” and “not to be.” But consider carefully he “shall be” but he is “not yet.”

“Hamlet, it is the way of nature—if you want to be the dawning light, you will have to find your way through the night.  You recall that saying, ‘You have to die if you want to bring forth new life. Power, if it is to be just, requires sacrifice.  Hamlet, with all due respect, distaste is a small price to pay.  Patience and waiting performed in silence are more deadly than any sword.”

What does the cosmic letter U say about all of this on the mental plane?  What underlies Hamlet and the king and his mother the queen?  What is their common source in regard to this conflict?

      I have said it before,

Power exists in order to be of service to others.  If you use power with love, wisdom, and divine purpose, then its accomplishments endure through all ages of the world.  Or, put simply: discover your resources.  And find the path of harmony between opposing forces.  Otherwise, fate (that is karma under the laws of akasha) rolls the dice to determine the time and place where you face the consequences of your actions.

Astral Plane

The color takes us to the source of any feeling or astral situation, vibration or polarity.

The sensation is being malleable.  It has an extreme flexibility.  It is capable of being anything similar to the way touch can express any emotion—you can grab to save or to enslave; you can touch as lust or as purest love.  The sensation says in effect “I will be anything you wish.” It is rich.  It is thick, and can take on the life within anything.

The sound dissolves any astral polarity revealing the source that underlies it.

Bardon mentions that practicing letter U on the astral plane enables you to transfer you consciousness anywhere and so learn to master it.  And it enables you to evoke any state of trance.

Put simply, you learn to assume any astral vibration within your consciousness.  You can experience opposites: you can be A or B that opposes A or you can be both A and B at the same time in a state of unity or the source from which they arise—this is speaking in terms of feeling, motivation, and emotional force.

Robert McKee, perhaps the foremost teacher of how to write screenplays, is skeptical about romantic movies.  Studios want to pay him a million dollars to write a modern romance but he says he can’t do it.  For a modern romantic movie, you have to have a great obstacle that keeps lovers apart and so the movie is about them overcoming the obstacle.

Then McKee tells you about the real problem: he says, “Feminism is a good thing.  But it has killed romance.”  I think what he means is that if you have the same capability in women as in men that feminism proclaims, then there is no longer enough polarity between the two genders to produce genuine romance.  You can always pretend and act like there is romance.  There is still a lot of fun to be had.  But this is no more than playing a part in a romantic comedy.  Genuine romantic feelings are nowhere to be found.

His point—the knight in shining armor, the navy seal coming out of the water, the captain of the nuclear submarine, and the space shuttle commander could just as easily be a woman as a man.  It was not that way in the old days and so what went before is now gone.

Bruce Willis might star in another Die Hard movie but as a matter of fact Catherine Zeta-Jones is probably in far better physical shape than Bruce Willis ever was.  I asked two people about this and they both replied, “Die Hard is a man’s role.”  But in fact a woman could play the role these days just as easily as a man.

Be that as it may, from the cosmic letter U’s point of view, romance is still alive and well.  It is very simple: it is two people sharing with tenderness their two bodies in common or, put another way, it one consciousness sharing two bodies—you share every perception, thought, sensual and emotional experience.

You may have very different histories, ways of thinking, feeling, and perceiving.  You may have very different ways of growing and goals you are hoping to fulfill.  But you share so the other’s goals are also your own and the other’s needs are yours equally.

If you have the letter U developed on the astral plane, it is extremely easy to get inside of another person and share that person’s deepest experiences.  Even the other’s nervous system is open for you to experience.  I give a simple example of how to do this under Four Planes at the end of this essay—see One Minute Seminar

A story.  Imagine a city in ancient Greece.  The king has magical powers.  He sits on his thrown but he is master of cosmic letter U on the astral plane.  Without need of advice or counselor, he can quite easily see through the eyes or hear the words spoken by anyone anywhere in his kingdom.  And he does this without security cameras on every corner or a video camera mounted on the hood of police cars.

Actually, the CIA with its remote viewing program attempted to accomplish something like this.  They wanted to view the enemies’ military installations, locate their submarines, and find kidnapped individuals.   Pretty strange, huh?

As a spiritual anthropologist, over the years I have come across one or two individuals who are gifted in this way.  When she dreams, one woman I know can see and hear what others are doing and saying in remote locations.  She even perceives events about to happen to them.  She does not have the mental plane awareness of how to work out karma or find solutions, but she does quite nicely on the astral.

I read an individual’s palm once and told him, “In this life time, you will only experience deep love from one woman.  But what have you done that she is so incredibly angry at you?  I can feel her wrath right now as she sends it to destroy your aura.”

We talked and I have him a meditation to do in which he pictured the two of them lovingly caring for their child.  The next day she called him and wanted to get together again.  This was an astral meditation.  You make a direct and inner emotional connection to another as if there is no separation between the two of you.  You feel one with each other.

The problem that I did not work on with him was that he did not have a sense of inner contentment.  As one of the foremost investors in the world, Warren Buffet, points out you have to be content in yourself in order to do well with success.  Otherwise, you reach too soon for you goal or overreach and fall when you are on top.

The individual in this example was gifted at succeeding, but he used other people’s energy to get where he was.  And most people will only put up with that for so long.

I should have had him do the mental plane exercise of imagining that you are in the audience watching your own performance on the stage.  And then you ask, “What would be different about that character if he were successful in life?”

If he had been perceptive, he would have said, “Is that really me? Do I really exploit people in that way? What can I do about it?”

Answer? “Simple, always give back as much as you take.  Now get up on the stage and let me see you act in a few scenes where you first give back before walking away.”

As for Hamlet, Hamlet too would have needed to role play a few scenes in order to explore his emotional reactions.  It is not enough to think.  You have to feel the part as well.

I once had a class enact a role playing session in which the goal was to get the keys away from a friend at a party so he does not drive home drunk behind the wheel.  We broke into three groups and had three presentations.  The first group ended up wrestling the guy to the floor to get his keys from him.  They were very emotionally involved with their parts even though it was role playing.

The second group simply had someone go out to the car and pull a wire so it wouldn’t start.  But the third group won the competition.  They had a girl go up to the guy at the party who was drunk and talk sweet to him.  He ended up giving her his keys and agreeing to have someone else drive him home.

When you are dealing with emotions, it is not necessarily about reason or options.  It is about the right emotional interaction that takes you to where you want to go.  Astral energies are what make you feel alive.  When they are bad, everything else, like an electrical system, can short out.  When they are good, you feel like you are right where you are supposed to be.

My mother had something of this U awareness on an astral level when it comes to conflict resolution—as in identifying with the underlying common ground of the relationship.  She had a sorority sister in college who picked on her and gave her a hard time.  My mother could have reacted by being passive, a victim.  She could have reacted by getting even, by attacking.

Instead, she started doing little things for the other person.  Helping her out in any she could.  In effect, my mother became the other person’s best friend.  Presto, no more conflict.  You could say that my mother was being submissive to this person.  But that is not the case.  My mother knew exactly what she was doing.  She acted in a way so as to destroy the other person’s opposition.  I have seen her do this many times.

Physical Plane

The color is the state of awareness that underlies physical matter whether animate and inanimate.

The sensation is an awareness like delta brain waves.  It is intensely awake and aware when normally deep sleep doe not allow for perceptional activity.  This energy or power underlies any set of polarities or components making up physical matter.

The sound dissolves opposites taking you into the state of underlying unity.

In other words, U is an awareness that senses the dense vibrations of the physical world.  It puts itself easily within these vibrations.  Bardon says the U on this level reveals the mysteries of akasha as it influences physical matter.  And it reveals all aspects of the four pole magnet.

Bardon is referring to the electric and magnetic fluid in its active and passive aspects and the way this force is the matrix from which all matter arises.  A very simple illustration of the four pole magnet is seen in male and female attraction.  The man has electric energy around his genitals and magnetic around his head and the woman is the reverse with the magnetic around her genitals and electric around her head.

As sometimes occurs, a man wants sex to express love.  Don’t tell me you have never seen this.  Whatever sex is for the woman, it is not the same as for the man.  She gets pregnant.  She delivers and nurses a baby.  She may or may not appreciate any of this but she does in fact have a chance to experience a level of bonding before and after delivery that a man will never know.  Still, she may then feel stuck in the home wanting to get out and have a life, a career. He still wants sex and the role sex plays for a man most women will never understand.

Typically, in the old days, he had a career.  He is out and about and active in the world.  His electric sexual/instinctual energy makes him active.  Her magnetic/instinctual energy gives her easier access to nurturing and bonding.

For him, he has to develop the magnetic energy around his head if he is to grow.  Sex grants him straightforward, direct, and easy access to magnetic energy which is embodied in this case in the lower part of a woman’s body.  There is a learning curve but it is indirect and round about.  He becomes a father and provides for a home.  He learns to nurture and care but only in an indirect way.  In no way or very rarely will he learn contentment and inner peace from experiencing a woman’s sexuality.

Similarly, a career represents for a woman a straightforward, direct, and easy access to electrical energy which is so prevalent in our society.  A career grants her a chance to make decisions in concert with others, to be productive out of the house and in society, and to learn how to take charge of herself.  There is a learning curve but it too is indirect and around about.  In no way or very rarely will she learn self-mastery and putting all her being on the line to accomplish a mission through work or through a career.

If the man masters the magnetism around his head, he becomes nurturing, caring, empathic, and loving.  And he attains inner peace.  If the woman masters the electric energy around her head, she becomes dynamic, a leader, and fearless.  Her independence and autonomy are then not derived from something else but part of her own being.

The letter U is the awareness of the electric and magnetic in both active and passive aspects all together and throughout the entire process of development.  If the man masters the U awareness, he realizes sex is a sacrament.  Easy to say the words in a marriage ceremony.  But to perform a transformation is required.  You have to attain to an inner union with the woman.

Similarly, if a woman masters the U awareness, she realizes that a career is a sacrament.  It is a form of service to the world.  One sacrament is inner. The other is outer.  If you have watched this kind of U awareness in action, you may come to agree that the inner is as powerful as the outer in shaping the unfolding of the world.

To summarize this simple illustration for what it is worth:

The male:

Fire/electric sexuality: makes him aggressive.  He is forced to learn to take charge of himself and to act.  Through contact with the world, he becomes dynamic, decisive, and strong.

Water/magnetic head: poorly developed emotions, insensitive, sentimental.

When developed, he becomes caring and empathic.  He learns to understand with clarity and impartiality.

The female:

Water/magnetic sexuality: makes her receptive.  She is forced to learn to bond and nurture.  Through contact with children and family, she becomes sensitive, connected, and maternal.

Fire/electric head: dependent, poorly developed decision making abilities, opinionated and/or prone to adopting other’s ideas, beliefs, or ideologies without thinking.

When developed, she can accomplish what men rarely comprehend—how to be organized, in charge, decisive, and yet completely empathic and sensitive at the same time.

This is the four pole magnetic on the physical plane in terms of social relationships.  It is a simple illustration. You can make up your own illustration in terms of your experience and background. The point is that the U awareness easily comprehends both male and female experiences in all aspects during the entire process of development.  It is not limited to just Homo sapiens.  It encompasses anything that takes physical form.

Four Planes

In summary,

On the akashic plane, the U is a consciousness that exists before anything manifests in separate forms.  It reveals the original purposes behind anything.

On the mental plane, it is the source that underlies all the components and forces giving birth to any situation in which you will make a decision.  It enables you to change karma and grants the highest intuition and inspiration.

On the astral plane, it is the ability to assume any astral vibration or feeling without limitation.

On the physical level, it is the awareness/energy underlying anything that manifests in the physical world.

A One Minute Seminar

In the following brief, humorous scene, the U manifests through the skill of active listening, projecting your mind into another person, getting a body sensation, and then mentioning what you feel.  This leads to a deep level of connection underlying two people.

Here we are folks at a world famous Yacht Club.  I have standing next me to my right the most eligible bachelor in the state.  Let’s call him Brad.  Next to him is his current stock broker (James—all these names are fictitious).  And to my left is an actual group of self-proclaimed cheerleaders both rooting for Brad and carrying on a discussion of Bard’s current girlfriend.

Me: “Excuse me ladies.  Can you tell me why you consider yourselves a group of cheerleaders for Brad?”

Susan: “I think we feel we are out of the running or never qualified for the running.  But we still feel we have a vested interest in the outcome.”

Me: “Ah yes.  I think I kind of understand.  But why this bachelor?  What makes him so special?”

Linda:  “He’s handsome, successful, wealthy, a great sailor, has a beautiful sailboat, great to crew for, and has hundreds of friends. It makes a woman feel good just to be around him.”

Me: “Really?  So what’s the cheerleader squad discussing tonight?”

Jennifer: “We’re questioning Brad’s attitude toward women.  He says he is not really serious when he dates but come on.  I think he is naïve about women if he thinks those he is dating aren’t really serious about him.”

Susan: “Look. I run my own bar and I have seen a lot of dating going on.  And unless a guy is intimate with a woman he owes her exactly nothing.”

Me: “So you are saying on the one hand that Brad is misleading women and yet technically it’s the women who are misleading themselves.  Is that a fair summary?”

Jennifer: “Yah.  Judging from his track record, he usually takes about seven years to decide to marry a woman ….because he doesn’t want to go through the trauma of breaking up.  Not being serious is his way of being cautious.  I mean, look at the way he hangs out with a woman--his arm around the girl he is dating and how he kisses her.  When I see that there is no way the woman isn’t going to get involved.”

Me: “So has this been a problem with his latest date?”

Susan: “He’s a man.  He thinks of a woman in terms of whether 1. She has ‘excess baggage,’ 2. She is ‘damaged goods,’ and 3. Whether or not she is ‘high maintenance.’”

Me: “So he is kind of picky.”

Linda: “His real problem is not the women he will finally marry.  The problem is that after two years the woman will finally catch on to what Brad is really about.”

   Me: “And what is that?”

Linda: “For Brad, the first thing in his life is business.  The second is his social life.  The third thing is his sailing and hanging out down here at the Yacht Club.  At best, his wife will only be fourth on his list of priorities.”

Me: “That could be a problem, huh?  But why should we speculate? Let’s ask Brad for an opinion.”

Me: “Say Brad. I have been talking to your cheerleaders here and they are questioning your interpersonal skills. They suspect they may not be sufficient to keep a woman happy once you marry here.”

Brad: “Its true.  In my past marriages, my wives left me.  Got any ideas?”

Me: “Ladies?  No thoughts?  We’ll, have you heard about the three day seminar on relationships taught in one minute?”

Brad: “Well, I have a minute.  Let’s do it.”

Me: “There are three components.  First, once a week sit down and listen to a woman for fifteen minutes.  During this time, utilize only active listening.  That is, on occasion paraphrase what she is saying and also suggest what you sense she is feeling as she talks.  For example, Susan here says flat out that a woman has no claim on you unless you are intimate with her.  And I suspect she feels that the only important thing you should be concerned about in dating is finding the right woman.  Susan is concerned about what is best for you. This is active listening: capture both thoughts and feelings.”

   Susan: “You got that right.”

Me: “The second component is that after fifteen minutes you place your mind inside of the other person.  Just to make it challenging, I will pick James here since I know nothing about him and have never heard him say anything.  To do this, just image you are the other person—you have the other person’s body, feelings, mind, gestures, body posture, vocal intonations, word choices, etc.  Get right inside the other so you are one.

“Ok, here I am imagining I am inside of James.  And this brings us to the third component—wait inside the other until you get a distinct body sensation.  This sensation is a gut level connection to the other person.

“With James the sensation I now have is that he is a very relaxed person, ready to let go and let his life completely unfold in any way it wants.  But if you look at James sitting here on that bar stool, his posture and facial expression suggest he is tense, uptight, and worrying about something.  How am I doing, James?”

James: “You are absolutely right.  People keep thinking I am an uptight kind of guy.  But I have all the clients I need and I am actually cutting back in my business.  I am looking forward to retiring and I completely happy with my life.”

Me:  “Do you feel we know each James?”

James: “You seem to know me better than my best friends.”

Linda:  “What if Brad doesn’t do this once a week once he marries a woman?”

Me: “Then his wife can actually do it on Brad.  Intimacy that is magical like this can be established unilaterally.  And as a matter of fact lovers in this life rarely worry about how their inner connection came to be.  They just know when it is there and when it is not.  If they have it, all the other difficulties and worries that accompany the relationship remain secondary.”

In summary, the U awareness allows you freedom of movement so your consciousness can move back and forth between yourself and another.  In so doing, you discover the one energy and connection that underlies and joins both of you.

The Voice of the Cosmic Letter U

Below is my own version of Prajnaparamita, the Bhagavad-Gita, the 90th Psalm, and Lao Tzu.  It is

The voice of the cosmic letter U:

There is no vice I can not twist or bend

And make again into its opposite virtue

There is no compulsion or obsession I can not

So fill with light it becomes kind and bright

There is no ill will or malice I can not

Convert into chivalry or true nobility

There is no crunch or karmic bind, no evil intent or design

I can not refine within my mind

Into contentment and absolute satisfaction

There is no suffering

I can not so enfold within my palms

Spit on, blow upon

And recreate as beauty hidden in the heart of life

Such is my power and might

Such are the depths and the heights

Where my wings fly

But there is a difference you see

Between you and me

When you breathe in

You nourish your body

And expel your doubts

But in one breath

I consume entire lifetimes:

Grasping the horns of sorrow

I flex my will

Gather my strength

And sing songs of joy.

                       The Cosmic Letter "E"

In Franz Bardon's third book, The Key to the True Quabbalah, he describes
twenty-seven cosmic letters.  These letters are the building blocks from
which nature, man, and spirit have been created.  They are the link
between matter, energy, history, consciousness, and spirit.  Bardon
explains a very specific way of training with cosmic letters and says one
lifetime may not be enough to master them.
A letter is not a function of or derived from any cultural image or
even any human thought, symbol, or conception.  It is simply an energy
field which is extremely malleable and susceptible to being shaped by
consciousness and will.  At the same time, these letters amplify energy.
The stronger your concentration the more energy you create.
A cosmic letter can easily express the qualities and powers various
spirits possess.  The letter is always more than the way any specific
being or spirit expresses it.  It is as if Divine Providence has said,
"The letter E expresses an aspect of omnipresence.  Each spirit with the
letter E in its name embodies a small part of that omnipresence."
The Letter E is practiced in a dark violet color, with the note of
"D," and with a sensation of penetrating through space and time.  In
Bardon's cosmic language, there are a number of letters which use the
violet color in a light or dark shade.  Letters "CH," "H," and "B" are
examples of these.  There are also three other letters which use the
sensation of penetrating through space and time.  The letter "U" I mention
in my evocation of the Venus spirit called Guru.  The letters "UE" and
"OE" also use the penetrating sensation but combine it with a sensation of
density as well.
The violet color Bardon attributes to the sign of Aquarius in the
earthzone.  It is also the color used in mentally projecting into the
sphere of Saturn.  And it has a certain analogy to the sphere of the Moon.
The majority of the lunar spirits' names begin with the letter E and also
have more than one E in their names.
On the other hand, when I initially began meditating with the letter
E, it was easy for me to feel disoriented and weakened from working with
it.  The work required that I develop a stronger magnetic field in my
aura.  Also, none of the thirty-six spirits of Mars have a letter E in
their names.  Mars is the mastery of self correlated with the will and
power which overcome obstacles and accomplishes missions.  The individual
who accepts the greatest problem as a personal challenge usually does not
take mystical breaks to feel the oneness of the universe.
In summary, the letter E embodies a vast range of mystical, spiritual,
and cosmic states of awareness and magical abilities.  It is generated by
using the three sense concentration to create an energy field.  If you
practice with the letter E for many years, it becomes very natural and
familiar.  Yet there is always more to discover about it.
The letter E involves states of awareness which are much more
familiar to Buddhists than to Western magicians or sages.  Often magicians
talk about mastering the akasha, but it is only in the use of their
clairvoyant abilities that they utilize this energy.  Placing their entire
consciousness within a vast, formless state of awareness is not something
they specialize in.  More often, it is through sheer force of psychic will
that they accomplish their evocations.  The tantric feeling of
omnipresence and being one with a spirit or, for that matter, another
human being is not part of their art.
In Bardon's first book, "Initiation into Hermetics, he refers to
akasha a number of times.  In the magic psychic training (VI), he says,
"Imagine you happen to be in the center of an unlimited space.  Here is no
above nor below nor any sideways.  This unlimited space is filled with the
finest energetic matter, the universal ether.  Ether is colorless, but to
our senses it appears to be of an ultra-violet, near black-violet color
and this is the color in which we do imagine the etheric matter."  He then
goes on to describe a visualization you can do within this akashic state
in regard to mastering the four elements.
In the magic psychic training (VII), Bardon mentions that a magician by
this point in his basic training should be able to hold with his mind any
sense or imagination concentration for fifteen minutes without the
slightest disturbance.  This is Raja Yoga, the training of the mind.
Bardon goes on to mention the outlook of one working with akasha.  You are
focused in the present moment.  You observe the world as it is and engage
it with the power of your spirit in the here and now.
This act of being fully present leads to feelings of kindness,
compassion, and gentleness.  It is hard to judge others because you can
see how they have suffered in this life or in past lives.  And it is easy
to recall how you have caused suffering to others in past lives as well.
You are aware how transitory society and culture are because it is easy
for you  recall civilizations which have come and gone vanishing from the
face of history.  In fact, it  seems there are past lives you can recall
so clearly it seems like you were there only yesterday or even a few
moments ago.
And you realize how fragile an individual's astral body and
personality are.  The elements animating and giving them life will begin
to dissolve at death.  And so you cherish others' ability to taste and
experience life for themselves with what they have been given in the here
and now.  You see the opportunity and the purpose underlying the other's
life.
This alertness and openness is so important to you because akasha is
both the complete acceptance of what is and unlimited possibilities.  But
few discover this.  Cynicism, arrogance, revenge, depression, sorrow, and
regret have a way of settling in and grabbing hold of the human soul.  It
is hard to let them go because the void that is left in their place is too
unsettling and too great to embrace.  The isolation and strangeness of
this void dissolves as we discover that akasha is full of wonder, freedom,
and new life.

AKASHIC PLANE

Practicing a cosmic letter on the akashic plane is a way of uniting our
awareness with the light of Divine Providence.  Bardon states that the
letter E on this level represents a state of omnipresence.  Bardon
mentions this state is referred to as Nirvi-Kalpa-Samadhi in oriental
wisdom.
An individual who has developed an awareness on this level has a
profound mystical feeling of being connected to the universe.  The mother
has contained the fetus within her body and seeks to protect and enhance
its life once it is born.  There are spirits whose aura and awareness
encompasses entire planets, solar systems, galaxies, and the universe
also.  There seek to care for and nourish as the mother does her child.
And so feeling connected to the universe has many qualities and levels of
awareness within it.
This realization is not like the light of the sun which shows itself
openly and dramatizes its presence for all to see.  This consciousness is
more hidden though nothing is hidden from it.  It is a part of both the
light and the dark and everything is within its heart.
Some individuals love only the bright, the good, and the righteous.
Motivated by their devotion, they shun what is dark, unclean, and unholy.
But all-embracing love encompasses everything.  It knows every secret and
fear is not within it.  It does not get hysterical when something unknown
appears which does not confirm and validate its own philosophy.  Instead,
it glances deeper into the fabric of space and time until it understands
the law and the pattern of life governing what seems to serve no purpose
and is not ruled by familiar and well-known ideals.
The question arises for those who practice here, How do you share
this experience with others?  What is left unshared in life tends to
create a feeling of isolation and disorientation.   The answer is that you
can celebrate it through music, poetry, stories, etc. and then it can be
shared.
Or you can turn it into a ritual of adoration to the beauty of the
universe as a way of celebrating your inner connection to the divine
world.  All the akashic levels of the cosmic letters are a celebration of
being one with Divine Providence.  You practice the akashic levels of
realization as a form of greeting, as a homecoming, as the joy of being
where you belong.   But this is not an escape.  It is the source you draw
upon and the well from which you drink so that as you move through life
your inspiration is inexhaustible and complete.
Occasionally, I will meet an individual who has had a spontaneous
experience with the akashic level of the letter E.  Ray Brown, the
naturopath, was featured on In Search Of when it covered the topic of
Atlantis.  He has a crystal ball with four pyramids within it. He says
while he was diving with some friends he  found it in the Bermuda Triangle
after a storm shifted the sand of the ocean bottom and reveal a number of
pyramids.
Ray Brown also mentions how he as once struck by a boat while coming up
from a dive. He drifted in the water for several hours unconscious before
he was revived.  During that time, he says his consciousness slowly
expanded into the ocean around him.  He felt he was becoming a part of the
consciousness of every fish within the sea.
As with others who have experienced something similar, I ask them, "Do
you ever try to enter into this state of awareness again?"  But they look
at me and say it would never occur to them to do so.  Western
consciousness is focused on identity, action, choice, and responsibility.
We are so involved with mastering the dynamic elements shaping history
that we rarely have time to enter and celebrate the oneness of life.
Let me briefly mention a Buddhist practice which draws directly on the
letter E on the akashic plane.  In the end of the book, Heart of Wisdom
(Tharpa Publications), by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the author mentions a very
well-known Buddhist ritual based on the Heart Sutra, Prajnaparamita, and
the Buddhist concept of emptiness.
In the Heart Sutra, Avalokitesvara tells Sariputra, "Form does not
differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form."  The sutra
also goes on to say that perception, conception, volition and
consciousness are also like this.
Often at the center of all Buddhist practice, regardless of the
tradition, is this probing and attempt to master the akasha, a formless,
timeless state of awareness.  I have had long discussions with some
Buddhists and mentioned that, for me, they are deficient in developing
their volition.  They throw this back at me by saying,  "Volition is
emptiness and void of any inherent meaning."   Of course, I do the same
thing for them.  I pick their favorite attachment and tell them, "Then
lineage and the authority of a guru are also emptiness and void of any
inherent meaning."
When we think of volition, we often think about controlling things,
accomplishing a purpose or a mission, and manifesting our will. Volition
involves gathering power and focusing it.  It is the ability to act
effectively.  In fact, Bardon calls power a divine virtue.
Bardon calls Malchjdael, the spirit governing Aries in Jupiter,
perhaps the most powerful spirit in this solar system.  When I began
working with Malchjdeal, the first think he asked me to do was to imagine
I was a state of akashic openness the size of a planet and bigger still.
Jupiter does things on a big scale.  The red spot on Jupiter is larger
than the earth.  For Malchjdael, you can take that state of openness, of a
vast expanses, and attune it to one thought, one image, one feeling, or
whatever you will.  For Malchjdael, volition is emptiness and emptiness is
volition.   It is the place where energy is created.  It is the womb where
spirit is born and fulfill its purposes.
I used to meditate with a Vietnamese Zen master.  This man is generous,
open-minded, hard working, and dedicated.  You can feel those qualities in
his aura and they are reflected in his actions.  But when he meditates his
aura vanishes.  If you could see only auras and you walked into a room
where he was meditating, you would not notice his presence.  He has become pure emptiness.  There is no form or color within his aura.  He is
completely clear.  It is as if he has disappeared.
And so Geshe Kelsang Gyatso tells the story of a black magician who
tried to cross swords with a Buddhist master.  This magician was
terrorizing a region in Tibet with his ability to use magic to kill
whomever he wished.  And so one day he declared the Buddhist priest would also die by the power of his magic.
But the priest simply practiced the Heart Sutra and the empty state of
awareness within  it which was in effect the letter E.  The letter E
embodies the realization that all things are one with each other.   As
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso puts it, "We can think that we, all that harms us and
the harm itself are all empty of inherent existence."
For an individual who has mastered the Letter E, there is no one there
whom a black magician can attack.  There is no attachment which negative
energy, thought, or will can lock in on and try to manipulate.  The mind
of malice, then, can not utilize the separation between itself and another
to bring about destruction.  There is no separation.  The destruction the
black magician sought consequently fell upon himself.
I used to ask a number of Tibetan lamas about this ritual.  They were
all familiar with it.  Invariably, after discussing its applications,
they would say, "If you want to use this ritual for political purposes, to
bring about peace, then you should simply hire a monastery to do it
according to your instructions."
And so I took their advice and hired a monastery to perform this ritual
on a weekly basis.  Initially, the head of the monastery did not believe
that akasha can be used to dissolve negative energy in political conflicts
on the other side of the earth.  But over the years this individual has
complimented me on how appropriate its political use has been.

MENTAL PLANE

In his first book, Bardon has a mental plane exercise in which you project
your mind into the center of a rock, a tree, a bird, a mountain, a person,
a spiritual being, etc. and observe all the influences which effect it and
which have made it what it is from the perspective of akasha.  Bardic
magicians are particularly skilled in this art.  Without conscious
thought, they fall into the center of another's heart.  There in a moment
of time they experience the entire life of that individual, the other's
inspiration, soul, destiny, deepest dreams and longings.  Returning to our
familiar world, they then express in their art a small part of the beauty
they have seen.
Lovers sometimes experience through each other a passion greater than
they are able to bare.  The passion overwhelms them and takes them into
places where they are haunted by terror and loss of identity.  They do not
claim this emptiness and place of desolation as part of a sacred path
leading to their destiny.  They do not realize that attraction, in seeking
to make you one with another, also takes you into the unexplored
wilderness inside you.
In the akasha, there is nothing to hold on to.  There is no form you
can cling to.  If you enter the mystery of love and demand security,
akasha will present you with unknown possibilities.  And if you want to
claim a specific treasure of bliss or pleasure you have never experienced,
akasha will ask you also to respect the past by paying your dues.  It
says,   "Overcome the weaknesses within yourself and then you can have
what you want."  Akasha is balance and harmony between all things.  The
past, present, and future are one continuity, one harmony in which
everything is already interconnected and linked.
Akasha on the mental level is the ability to meet and interact with
any being that exists anywhere in the universe.   No matter how limited
your physical circumstances are, this is like being hooked up to a
spiritual internet.  Swami Satchitananda called this in the local
newsletter last week--the Inner Net.  You are in contact with the whole
world.

ASTRAL PLANE

On the astral plane, you learn to distinguish each nuance of thought and
feeling in others.  It is a form of empathy.  It is also easy to project
your awareness into situations of the past or future.  In particular, it
is possible to follow the threads of deep longings and desires and visit
the future situations in which they are fulfilled.
Being in a profound state of akashic awareness on the astral plane
enables you to look down upon the actions of the four elements.  You can
see the causes imprinted into the fabric of the elements and how these
exert influences which lead toward particular results.  At the same time,
this is not only a vision of what will be.  In this state of trance, you
can weigh, measure, and evaluate the will and the skill required to bring
about specific situations.
In contrast to the great illusions which the astral plane embodies
through the attractions generated by opposite forces and images, the
letter E penetrates into and is one with every single influence in any
situation.  Androgyny, which is the joining of masculine and feminine,  is
not an adequate word to express this feeling of completeness and wholeness
the E permits.  Rather, the letter E is the practice of omnipresence in
one aspect.  It is being one with whatever exists without any distortion
or blurring of vision.
Practicing the letter E on the astral plane has the feeling of being
in a vast room of violet light.  If you listen very carefully you can hear
the sounds occurring in the future.  You can then walk toward those sounds
and step out of the darkness and back into the light, that is, into the
concrete situation that will occur. In effect, the letter E is a state of
being completely receptive, open, and free of any distraction as you learn
to perceive on the astral plane.
Another way to state this is to say our vision is so pure and our
hearts so expansive and all-embracing it is natural to be able to perceive
likely situations which will occur in the future.  You develop a prophetic
clairvoyance because you are able to suspend the veils of space and time
to look to the essential, the manifesting of what is most important in
life.  Every prophet has this ability to some degree--to focus on the work
of Divine Providence, to track and contemplate divine activity--to see
what akasha is seeking to accomplish on earth.
In summary, the letter E on the astral plane is a deep stillness and
receptivity.  The elements quiet down.  And then you can see where your
needs will be fulfilled and where dreams can find the gates that open to
reality.

PHYSICAL PLANE

The letter E on the physical plane always evokes for me that heroic and
magical sense of the martial arts as portrayed by the mages in the movie
Star Wars.  There is a feeling of mastering mind over matter and a having
a will which shapes the fate of the physical world.
And this will is heroic because it does not wander off to mystical realms
seeking fulfillment.  It is more present, alert, and knowledgeable about
the events and hidden influences shaping life than any materialist or
world leader or entrepreneur understands.  It judges accurately which
factors are most significant as far as advancing human and societal
well-being and it knows which treasures of spirit are appropriate to
reveal within any age.
In ancient times, there were sages and prophets who could decipher any
dream, sign, or omen.  A king would defer to them seeking their guidance
when he had a problem which no one else could solve.  These sages saw the
future clearly and they read the minds of any king anywhere on earth as
easily as if it was their own thoughts they were thinking.
It is, of course, easy for those attached to their egos to take the
tiny bit of spiritual power they acquire and misuse it.  We see this all
the time.  Throughout history as well, great martial artists defeated all
their competitors and then simply stopped growing.  They did not proceed
to explore the next twenty levels of self-mastery.
But the greatest warriors and the most noble champions are not content
with only a small taste of the divine.  They seek to master completely
their own spirit.  For men and women such as this, nothing is hidden.  And
the force of the universe, majestic and incomprehensible,  threads its way
through their wills.  Once you taste the joy which originates the act of
creation, it becomes your muse and your guide.  Such is the degree of
satisfaction which is at the heart of the letter E.
The letter E is also extremely helpful with working with all the
elemental beings.  I often engage the different elementals in long and
detailed conversations about their understanding of the akasha from the
point of view of their element.  Since the most powerful elemental beings
are true magicians in their own right, they naturally draw on the creative
power of akasha.
But they are not as free as a human being to penetrate into the
akasha and become pure, formless awareness which can penetrate any element as well as stand completely independent of nature.  The elemental beings, furthermore, are unable to project beyond the sphere of the earth as can a human magician who can set aside his astral body and proceed solely
through the power of his mind.  And the earthzone with its spirits who
represent the degrees of the zodiac are also beyond the reach of the great
elemental kings and queens.
In summary, I have shared with you some of my experiences with the
letter E in its human and cosmic dimensions.  Franz Bardon calls the
letter E one of the letters in the cosmic language, the language used by
divine beings in fulfilling their purposes.  For me, the mysteries of life
and the universe are full of wonder and immense power.  The cosmic
language, however, appears to be adequate to the task of enabling us to
participate in these mysteries.

     The Planetary Spheres

Introduction

The sphere of Saturn I have already described at the beginning of this series of essays.  This section outlines the planes and spheres one normally passes through in order to get to Saturn.

It is not necessary for a referee to become a spheric magician or even to work with the earthzone.  A referee position can be pursued simply by imagining with a trained imagination that various nations embody peace, justice, and wisdom in the way they allocate their resources, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.  You imagine it as if it is real right now. But for practical purposes, you imagine this energy/thought as being embodied in the onsciousness of the nation’s leader.

In what follows, I explore the akasha—the realm of light--surrounding nine different planetary spheres.  This is slightly different for me in that I usually first and foremost work with a spirit.  In this case, however, I am seeking a more personal understanding of the qualities of the different planets.  It is a getting acquainted exercise.

Note: This essay is similar to my series on the Presence of God.  I imagine if the Apostle Paul was right, God is someone “in whom we live, move, and have our being,” then each planet’s aura is a kind of outer reflection of God’s aura.  Simply meditating in the akasha of different planets, then, not only clarifies and defines the nature of the spiritual beings that dwell there.  Studying a planet’s akasha also tells you something about the mind and soul of the Creator--the way studying in a class taught by a world level economist, philosopher, or general tells you something about the individual’s mind and outlook on life.

In this brief essay, I spent about two hours meditating in each of the different planetary spheres, so about four to six hours a day over five different days.  What motivated this little venture was I needed some clarification as to what method and perspective I should use to solve two sets of problems.  One solution was more personal in nature—I decided to spend some time working with Nith-Haiah of the Mercury sphere, “the Guardian angel” of all magicians on earth according to Bardon.

The second question deals with karma and political evolution.  I wanted to double check my perspective and a get a little reassurance before proceeding.  In other words, I wanted a stamp of approval from Divine Providence before exercising my magical will.  Self-validation is always a highly questionable activity; then again, when using cosmic power you do not seek a second opinion from other people.  You are required to go directly to the source and with every ounce of intelligence your brain possesses you have to weigh and measure, draw your own conclusions, and then take full responsibility for your actions.

The Four Elements in Physical Body

Earth

This is the place where we begin and to which we return.  The body is both the temple of God and the magic mirror that reflects the universe.  Working with other planes of awareness, not to mention spirits, takes energy and the body is the source of that energy.  In fact, there is nothing to be encountered “out there” in the highways and byways of the four elemental realms that is not already present in latent form within each of us.

Having done some preliminary stretching/yoga I focus on the four elements within my body.  The bones of the skeleton and physical mass of the body is like the earth element.  I sense the obvious: the solidity, stability, and enduring presence.  The body is framed upon the bones and tendons.

Part of my physical being is silent and solid and enduring—a perfect embodiment of the mystery and initiation of silence and all the spiritual qualities of earth.  So it is natural for me to sense how the vibration in my body is almost identical to the vibration within that five thousand year old stone circle I wrote about that is in Scotland.  The pyramids of Egypt, ancient and forgotten temples, mountains and minerals, geologic strata—the presence of what endures down through the ages—all of these sensations and qualities of the earth element are right here.

There is a little crater near my house—Koko Crater.  It is no more than a few thousand years old.  This crater will still be around long after I am dead.  This island is no more than five million years old.  But the solidity I sense within my body—the weight and mass—is an awareness that goes back to the Vishnu schist at the bottom of the Grand Canyon—a billion years old.  It goes further—it goes back four billion years to when the planet first formed.

The body is ancient and beyond the knowledge of all religions on earth. In every glass of water we drink, in every breath of air we take in hydrogen atoms that were formed soon after the Big Bang thirteen billion years ago.  The elements in our bodies, for example oxygen and carbon, we formed in the nuclear furnaces and through the explosions of stars.

If we were to proceed into the astral/etheric realm of the earth element wherein gnomes dwell, we would certainly want to feel comfortable in advance with doing what gnomes do—they place their minds directly within physical matter to sense its qualities and influence its vibrations.  The vibration of zinc, tin, gold, silver, lead, precious jewels, trees, and plants—gnomes can spend hours on end immersed within the vibrations of matter the way dolphins can swim in the waves or eagles can ride the winds.

Each day our consciousness passes through alpha, beta, theta, and delta states of awareness as when our minds are open, problem solving, falling asleep, and in a state of deep, dreamless sleep.  Penetrating and encompassing physical matter with our awareness is very similar to being fully alert and awake in a state of deep dreamless sleep.  Our bodies contain such knowledge.  We just need to learn to sense it.

When dealing with the unknown it is wise to move slowly, systematically, and from the familiar to the unfamiliar, from what you can fully control to what is new and what challenges you with forces that are outside your grasp.  It is a gradual process.

Some people want quick results in magic.  Why can I not control my thoughts?  Why can I not evoke spirits?  Many of the higher spirits are quite capable of materializing and dematerializing matter.  For these spirits it is nothing to penetrate physical matter with their consciousness, take hold of it, and transmute it at will.

Physical matter contains great energy.  Matter is dynamic, powerful, and intense.  But all of this is wrapped about in a quiet grace, a silence, and an immense stillness.  When God says, “Be still and know that I am God,” he is not referring to water, air, or fire.  He is pointing to the gate hidden within the element of earth with its quiet, silent stillness.

Meditating on physical being, the personal fades.  You remain aware of the physical and yet in a place of great stillness you move beyond time and space and pass through the gate that leads into akasha and the Divine Presence.  Like I say---the body is a temple.  Herein are taught the divine arts of creation.

Water

The sensation of water I can pick up from the flow of blood through my body.  A doctor told me that some people can feel when there heart skips a beat.  With experience, you can feel blood flow into part of your body when you relax it.  The blood vessels dilate with the result that there is more blood flow into the area and it becomes warmer.

Some people can sense the pulse of their blood as it surges through the body.  It is the liquid, flowing quality of the blood that is emphatically the water element.  Water is in tears, sweat, salvia, urine, moisture in the lungs, the eyes, and various body fluids.

As I concentrate on the flow of blood, immersing myself in this sensation and awareness, there are also feelings that arise: a sense of peace, of flowing and letting go.  It is purifying, renewing, nurturing, and reviving.

Within water is also a more subtle presence called the magnetic fluid.  It is like the flow of blood produces a magnetic field in and around the body.  If you can sense or feel auras, you can probably pick this up as well.

Well, here is what I sense of the magnetic fluid in and around my body.  It is cool, soothing, and healing. It is nearly incomprehensible receptive—though completely nurturing and life giving, it is also utterly open and empty.  It is so encompassing, it can embrace, shelter, and protect anything.

As men are granted a token surcharge of the masculine electric fluid by virtue of their gender, women have a surcharge of the magnetic fluid.  It is seen for example in a woman’s ovaries which embody a powerful attracting energy.

As I mention elsewhere, some martial art masters like to marry young, nubile women because the woman’s powerful estrogen based magnetic field automatically draws the energy in his head and arms downward along the front of his body.  This feminine essence, yin jing, or magnetic fluid allows him to remain flexible, grounding him and cooling his excessive body heat.  It frees him from being a slave to his own mental powers of concentration which would otherwise make him obsessive and dictatorial.

To put it another way, a man might notice that sensing the magnetic field arising from the water element in his own body is like what he may feel after making love to a beautiful and loving woman.  For a limited time, something of her feminine essence and beauty are transferred over to him as a purely physical sensation.  He then feels blessed, anointed, made whole and complete—the inner unity between body, soul, mind, and spirit are restored and brought into balance.

This magnetic fluid is kind, gentle, and tender.  It seeks to heal, complete, and make whole whatever it touches.  It is absolutely natural for it to hold things within itself restoring their balance and harmony.

This magnetic fluid is present in men and women, though as I mention women tend to have a much higher and more natural charge of it.  Becoming aware of it directly strengthens it and allows us to make it an active part of our consciousness.

Obviously, if a person’s mind is influenced by the magnetic fluid it is easy to try to bring out the best other people.  Instead of viewing others from a position of competition and insecurity, a person’s mind is empathic, sensitive, and caring.

Franz Bardon really set up a furor in the magic world by publishing the wrong names for many of the spirits he describes.  People write me this about this.  They ask me, Do you know the real name of such and such a spirit?  This inquiry seems most paradoxical and ironic to me because these people rarely give me their real names and here we are having a nice conversation.  So why such a big deal about the names of spirits?  You want their email address you have it in the sigils Bardon has published.

If you find the magnetic fluid in your body, I mean look, it is right here under your breath, barely hidden behind your heart beat; it is right here riding the physical sensation of blood through your veins and arteries—find the magnetic fluid in your body and you have found a magic mirror and holy well: in it is reflected the nature and presence of any spirit in the universe.  The magnetic fluid is that empathic and full of the mysterious and wonderful magical powers of clairsentience.

Let me say it again, the magnetic fluid is so receptive and utterly open and sensitive it can quite easily produce in itself, (that is you can experience it within your own body and consciousness) the actual presence of any living thing.       I tell you that in my experience when a woman really loves you she holds part of your soul and spirit within herself nurturing and sustaining it.

At the same time, her love extends inside of you and is constantly striving to make you whole and complete, to heal your wounds, and unify every fiber of your being.  That kind of love employs the powers of the magnetic fluid.

If you go exploring out there into the domains of the elemental beings, the undines and mermaids, the spirits of  love on the higher planes and within the sphere of Venus, it is easy to encounter love and attractions which seem beyond human understanding.  The beauty of these beings is again nearly incomprehensible.

But that beauty is always a quality and power of the magnetic fluid.  Find the magnetic fluid within your self.  Then you will be able to see what is in front of you.  And then you will not fall victim to other worldly temptations not to mention human lovers with a dark agenda hidden beneath their beauty.

Air

The air element in the body is easy to sense through the lungs and breath.  There are the subtle changes in air pressure, lung capacity, moisture, and temperature in the lungs set off by the contracting and release of the diaphragm.  This is very similar to sensing the differences in air pressure, temperature, and moisture that move the winds and shape the weather in the sky.

Bardon suggests that the essential quality of the air element is the sensation of weightlessness.  Air has a freedom to move without being so closely bound to shape and magnetic attraction.  This carries with it a feeling of independence and detachment.

The oxygen in breath is free to travel throughout the atmosphere of the entire planet.  Breath also carries a sense of open expanse.  The freedom from limitation and capacity for movement are, like the cosmic letter A, a tool for studying enlightenment and cosmic wisdom.  The mind, like breath, can become open, free, detached, and expansive.

In breathing we are sharing air with every living being.  In breath we gain a taste of enlightenment.  In joining our consciousness to the physical sensation of air our consciousness becomes a part of the entire biosphere of the planet.  Cosmic wisdom is close behind: it is being aware of a person and an individual thing from the point of view of the whole.

We have emotional disturbances but we can among other things calm our breathing and calm ourselves down in the process.  The sky has storms but the sky itself remains undisturbed.  In every breath is this knowledge of clarity of mind and balance.

If I “bracket” the sensations of earth, water, and fire in my body and focus only and exclusively on the vibration of air, my body feels like it is make out of air.  At this point, I have the sensation of having become a sylph, a spirit that dwells within air.

On the other hand, a basic exercise in magic related to pranayama involves breathing in vitalizing energy with the air.  When I focus only on the physical sensation of air, I do not sense this vitalizing or more subtle energy in air.  To get that perception, I imagine myself surrounded by a sea of vitalizing and healing energy.  Now as I focus on my breath and the actions of breathing I can easily sense this vital energy entering my body.  It moves according to where I focus my concentration.

For some individuals, pranayama is quite easy.  Others like myself have to use both imagination and psychic perception in order to get the most basic of exercises to work.

Fire

The body produces heat. We cook food to prepare it for eating using high temperatures.  The body breaks food down at low temperatures using enzymes and catalysts.  Without much effort, I can sense the temperature differences on the surface of my body, in my muscles, and to some extent within my body as well.

If I screen out the earth, water, and air sensations in my body (in phenomenology this is called “bracketing.”), I am left with a sensation of fire: blazing fire within my entire body.  If I continue and place off to the side all outher distractions, all that exists is fire: a conflagration, a fire storm, and burning and consuming without beginning or end.

You may think that eating your carrots and broccoli and following your vegetarian diet you are being gentle and peace loving.  But your stomach is dissolving that physical matter in a pool of acid determined to break it down into its components with the ferocity of the acid in a car battery attempting to strip electrons from metal.

The rapacious, consuming hunger in the body producing heat takes place on a molecular level under the direction of the DNA molecule.  Sense something of this process and you are sensing the raging fire that extends throughout the universe.  In every heartbeat is the pulse of lightning surging between the earth and the sky.

There is a limit on coldness called absolute zero.  There is no limit on the degree of heat or the will that derives from fire.  Nonetheless, too much or too little heat and the body shuts down.

Someone was asking advice about a really powerful spirit he had encountered.  With all due respect, there are no really powerful spirits.  Nothing “out there” even remotely reflects the power you have within your self should you but find it.

Now then, there is a feminine essence.  The masculine essence is derived from the electric fluid.  Men become electrified when they are aroused.   Obviously passion and desire can be overwhelming.  But this electrical energy in passion is but a faint reflection of the real thing.

Like male sexuality, the electric fluid is hot, burning, intense, and explosive.  It is consuming and commanding.  It is more: it carries with it absolute faith and conviction.  The adrenal glands kick in: all of conscious and all strength are focused on one task—to overcome any obstacle in its path and to fulfill its mission.

Combine the electric and magnetic in your self?  You are fully alert yet relaxed; ready for action but at peace.  You have the sensitivity and receptivity to respond to what is in front of you and yet the will to do what needs being done.

Magic is using a little bit of the will of the Creator to create.  You initiate something new.  But magic also requires the art of the lover who holds in her heart everything involved in what you are undertaking until it finally bears fruit.  Magic requires both the electric and magnetic fluids in equal measure.

Akasha

Akasha seeks to balance the four elements and maximize their development.  It is an awareness of the activity of all four elements at once.

In terms of my own nature, akasha has the function of regenerating and balancing my body/health, emotions/astral body, and mind.  This akasha that accompanies my spirit is very alchemical: it hermetically seals itself off from the world in order to focus on and transform the elemental materials active within me.

This is again very Aquarian and very unlike Leo that shines outward with light and enthusiasm.  The alchemy focuses within, recreating itself from within.  It is a very solitary activity and thus is very difficult to share with others because it is a process each individual pursues within himself.

The Elemental Domains within Nature

Earth

I am now extending my awareness outside of my body and into the earth element.  Basically, I sense dirt all around myself.  The primary sensations are density and weight.

Bardon recommends imaginatively filling one’s body with the earth element (not accumulating it but just an even spread throughout one’s body) and then dropping one’s mind down into the ground.

Not much is going on.  But after a while I begin identifying my consciousness with the earth element.  I become the earth spread out for miles in all directions.  At this point, I begin to sense geologic strata and various mineral deposits.

The limestone recalls the skeletons of fish from which it was formed and seas long gone.  The sandstone recalls sandy dunes.  Coal deposits remember Jurassic forests with the bones of ancient creatures mixed around.

There is the top soil and vegetation from which it is formed.  Here is a water table and underground streams.  Caves and caverns, magma chambers, and tectonic plates.  There are fault lines with their strange twisting and straining like a sculpture of wrestlers striving for an advantage.

There is the sand from mountains long gone; the boulders from rivers that have not flowed for millions of years and the rubble left over from ice ages come and gone.  I think the process is fairly clear: if you extend your consciousness into the earth becoming the earth then the memories of the earth begin to download into your brain with images from a book called, “This is the geology of the planet you live on.”

From the point of view of a billion years, all of this is very bubbly and constantly changing like the spray from a wave breaking on a beach.  Everything is in motion.

But from the point of view of a few minutes or an hour meditation, it is very quiet and very, very patient.  It has exactly the feeling that accompanies some of my meditations which I have been practicing for over thirty years.

I have written about the beings who dwell within the earth element elsewhere.  At this point, I suspect one result of acquainting one’s consciousness with the earth element is that you begin to appreciate the physical world.  You enjoy working with material things.  You find it enjoyable to take something physical into your hands and to change it so it is of more value.  Obviously, the earth element is very grounding, very practical, and very down to earth.

Water

I have been writing a book on the water element so let’s see what happens here.  I project my consciousness into the water element in nature.  I find myself immediately surrounded by the sea, blue green and around me is sea weed.  And I am soon within a water fall and a lake—I have become the lake.  I am a river flowing to the sea.  I am the North Atlantic current, a tsunami, a tide rolling in, a flashflood, a storm surge, a river flooding its banks, rain, a cloud, fog, snow, the North Pole—I am within all of these.

I feel a part and one with the vibration of water across the entire earth—I am the surface of the sea and its depths.  I am a billion waves set in motion by ten thousand different winds.  I am the glass of water a woman drinks in a five star restaurant.  Now I am in her stomach and now within her blood stream.

I absorb and release carbon dioxide.  I absorb and release heat.  I am fluid, liquid, and malleable.  I purify and I give birth to and sustain life.

If I focus exclusively on the vibration and sensations of water, I seem to turn into a merman (the male version of an undine or mermaid).  I am committed to preserving, expanding, and clarifying magnetic fields produced by water.  This is my vocation and my soul.  I celebrate magnetism in all my actions.

In a waterfall, I am sparkling, effervescent, and I renew life.  In a river, I let go and go with the flow, following gravity as it walks at my side across the land as we listen for the distant sounds of the sea.

In a mountain lake, the stars’ fiery dance fills my nights with dreams of unending delight.  The clouds drop down and as fog caress my skin.  In winter I am still as ice; and in spring the warm sun penetrates my depths and I turn that radiance into a song that intoxicates, ravishing the heart and causing the senses to see visions of what shall be.

Air

Again, as I focus exclusively on the air element within my body, I feel as if I have become a sylph, a spirit of the air.  Weightless, floating, I stand within the sky just below the jet stream.  And a little higher, in the ionosphere, where the blue of the sky changes in the black of outer space.

This is being very detached surrounded by a vast, open expanse.  Though my eyes are penetrating, my gaze is calm.  I am incredibly relaxed.

If you want to understand the state of mind represented by all those huge stone statutes of the Buddha just put your self into the air element.  Light is a subtle nectar that nourishes and gives life.  The mind is so open, vast, and expansive it becomes mirror like—its ferocious quest for the truth so joined to stillness that it perceives without distortion or presumption.

This state of mind can think but it has no dependency on thoughts.  It is not attached.  All conceptual systems depend upon and are limited by their assumptions.  In this state of mind, when a thought and its assumption no longer clarify and illuminate a subject that thought and assumption vanish instantly.

What is it like to be a sylph?  You know the wind, from where it arises, how it moves, and to where it is going.  A thunderstorm is in your mind like a pleasant daydream—it is entertainment like watching a puppy chasing its tail or watching a cat climbing down cautiously from a tree, its claws clasping and scratching the bark as it descends.   And as with a playful puppy or a frightened cat, with care you can pick them up and take them somewhere else if you want.

Many scientists have a surcharge of sylph in their astral bodies.  The result?  The vibration within their minds of an original observation or the birth of pure and new scientific knowledge are for these men and women exquisite pleasure—the mind expanding its clarity and understanding of the surrounding universe are their passion.

Artists and poets also dabble with sylph magic: when a tornado of whirling desire or a hurricane with its upheaval and wild, raging emotions passes through them, they do not run for cover or hunker down to wait out the storm.  No, they ask, “Now how did this happen?” as they try to sift through and express every nuance and variable within the phenomenon.

Yes, sylphs in human form or at least temperament have walked among us.  We have seen them wearing the disguise of Mozart, Shakespeare, Newton, Einstein, Socrates and Plato.

As for weather control?  I have met the Dalai Lama’s weather controller.  And the ancient Druids were said to exercise some influence over the winds.  But if I asked a sylph about this topic he might say simply, “If you become the sky with your mind and also a hurricane at the same time, then controlling the direction and strength of the hurricane are no more difficult than controlling the depth and rhythm of your own breath.”

In evocation, the idea of a “magical name” for a spirit is that if you possess it and understand it you can control the spirit.  But from the point of view of the air element, this is complete nonsense.

Though it may take ten, twenty, or thirty years, the process is more like your mind is the wind that gets inside of a cloud.  And then when the two are completely joined, you move as one.  It is something very beautiful and profound because one of the most basic secrets of the universe is that there really is no separation.

Fire

Again, focusing just on fire within my body it is easy to freely associate in my mind with fire in nature and to enter that fire.  Fire in nature: forest fire, lava flow and pyrochastic flow, volcanoes, the heat of deserts and the light of the sun.

I notice that fire changes things: it melts metals, pulverizes mountains, and builds islands from out of the depths of the sea. It both tears things down destroying the form and builds things up shaping new forms.

It can work with the other elements adding depth and passion to love, integrity and urgency to the quest for truth, or purifying and refining physical matter as in producing steel from iron and pure gold from ore.

It can destroy as in killing a human being, burning down a house, or vaporizing a city.  Fire in nature just is.  It changes things in accordance with the laws of nature.  Fire controlled by human beings depends on intention and wisdom to determine whether the outcome is creative or destructive.

Fire may seem rather hostile to human nature.  We try not to get burned or have an accident when it is near.  But fire is fabulous as a meditation.  You can find all sorts of “Ah has” within it.  Such as here is the nature of faith and conviction.  Here is the birth of new light.  Here is the highest illumination.  And here the power that rejuvenates and, in combination with the other elements, gives birth to life.

We could talk about the use of fire in your life.  Something is not right.  And so you decide to change things.  A certain amount of will and conviction is required to extricate your self from your limitations.  To do this you may have to acquire more of the element of fire within your soul.  People imbibe fire sometimes through anger, sometimes by acquiring new faith, and sometimes by being forced into action in order to protect others.

And we also can talk about fire in the life of nations.  Occasionally some dictator appears with a strength of will equal to a mountain exploding, to a pyrochastic flow that destroys entire cultures.

But if you know fire well through the depths of your meditations you can become for that dictator the equivalent of an asteroid hitting the earth.  The explosion destroys entire mountain ranges in an instant.  The dictator with all his formidable power, even when he is under the protection of the dark side—he does not know what hit him.  He did not even sense it coming.

Meditating in fire, again, is a strange and seemingly unnatural thing.  But if you make its acquaintance, when you encounter others abusing their power and using their wills for malice, you can look at them the way a gnome can look at a tree and determine the depths of its roots, the strength of its wood, and the health of its fruit and leaves.

When you understand the raw material from which the power of will derives, then you are able to see clearly what is in front of you.  And you know how to cooperate (to blend) with it, to further it, or to destroy it.  Such is the magic of fire and the sacred mission it has been assigned.

Akasha.  My ability to penetrate through space and time with my awareness derives in part from gifts various spirits have offered me.  These gifts reawakened abilities I developed in previous life times.  The task, then, is apply what has been learned before to this world in which I now live so there is some sort of productive, fruitful, and creative action appropriate to these times.

The Planetary Spheres

From the four elements within the body and within nature, we now proceed further into the spheres of light.  The vibrations are more subtle.  These realms are penetrated not with the astral body but only with the mind and spirit.  Of course, all of these following spheric vibrations are present here on earth in some form or another.

It is just that we rarely encounter them as a pure and undiluted vibration.  And if we do the experience is often temporary and fleeting.  The emotions generated by such encounters are somewhat like the shock wave from a nuclear explosion—we can sense the effects of its presence but its light is too intense for our natural eyes to behold without some form of protection.

To some extent religions have been invented to preserve a small taste of the original experience from when the light touched a soul in earlier age.  Rituals and doctrines both protect the mind while attempting to channel a tiny part of that original inspiration to us so it can become a part of our lives.  And, from my point of view from experiencing the following spheres, many new religions (and truths of the universe) have yet to find a place in our hearts.

The Earth Zone

The akasha within my self obviously relates to my own body, emotions, mind, and history of personal experience in this life time.  That is its immediate are of supervision.

The akasha of the earth in a similar manner relates to the physical, emotional, and mental activities taking place on earth during the life time of this planet.  That is its area of activity and supervision.

Obviously, I can go to the earth zone to deepen or explore aspects of my own development on the three lower planes.  But the outlook here also encompasses the entire history of the earth.  The sensation on a sensory level is that of akasha: of penetrating through space and time and also perceiving the inner spiritual realms of the earth.

The earth zone, which for me is always new whenever I enter it, is at this moment very peaceful and there is that sense of “akashic records,” of a virtual reality recollection of any experience that has ever happened on earth.  You can enter anyone or any spirit and see through its eyes and experience what it has experienced.  Genghis Khan: I am within him laughing at a comrade’s joke and I can taste his battle lust and virile, wild cruel and insatiable hunger and thirst for power without limit.

Alexander the Great: Within him I feel utterly radiant.  There is a classic nobility he exudes on an emotional level.  A truly generous person expansive and in many wise while at the same time perhaps the most brilliant military strategist in history.  Inside Alexander I feel like I am ten times more powerful and in control of my faculties than is any other person on earth.

Why all these wars and incredible amount of suffering and pain that are a dominant theme in human history?  Sitting here in akasha it is plain to see: human beings are under a divine mandate—learn to master your body, emotions, mind, and spirit and the very forces of history so that you can take control of your fate and attain to a destiny of your own choosing.

Take Clinton.  How many people get the opportunity to become president of the United States?  So it is a personality flaw, a problem with astral equilibrium that leads him to have sex in the Oval Office.  It is a temptation/male thing.  Totally understandable for a man to screw up in this way.  But he should have been working to fight terrorism around the world instead of spending his energy fighting impeachment.

His fate was in control of his life due to his personality flaw so that he did not attain to his destiny.  Failing to attain to one’s destiny due to a personality flaw is totally understandable.  But what an incredible loss and mistake to expose the nation to so much wasted time and energy due to his out of control passions.  A question for the next presidential nominees: “Sir, if you are elected president, will you be able to keep your dick in your pants while you are running the nation so the opposing party does not try to impeach you after you lie about it?”

Jews sometimes say about God (or divine mandates by implication): “It is not necessarily a good thing to be the friend of God.  And do not count on God to help you out of a difficult situation.”  Or put another way, “We either learn all we can from life and become our own teachers or fate will become our teacher.”  Its your choice.

The spiritual power here in akasha can solve any problem on earth.  The price for entering and activating akasha within your self to solve these problems in an active and timely manner is very expensive.

Genghis Khan, by utilizing cutting edge military technology, horse cavalry and archers, spread terror across the world.  But the horse was a wonderful gift to mankind.

Nuclear energy, esp. fusion which we have not yet learned to apply for electrical power generation, is a wonderful gift to mankind. But I notice small nations spending a hundred billion dollars to develop nuclear weapons solely for the political status and terror they can spread across the world.

Like I say, here in akasha of the earth zone there is no problem that can not be solved on earth.  But the cost in terms of training, commitment, time, and energy is very expensive.

It is my position that the human race has more important things to do with itself than rattle nuclear sabers.  I would hope some other people can learn to use akasha in doing what akasha does: supervising, inspiring, and also setting limits so that human beings learn in the best way possible, with the highest learning curve rather than though so much pain and suffering.

“They shall beat their swords into plowshares.... neither shall they learn war anymore.”  This will happen when more people are comfortable operating from akasha having worked for decades on refining and balancing the elemental energies on the three lower planes within themselves.  Then we shall have the peacemakers whom Christ spoke about.

A few more comments on the earth zone.  Akasha is so into life on earth.  For a sense of wonder, be sure to visit the earth zone.

In my screenplay, The Fall of Atlantis, the Goddess of the Earth says to a woman, “Create a religion without priests, temples, or rituals in which wisdom, power, love, and justice are equally honored and pursued.”  Being here in akasha is such a religion.

There is a wonderful sense of the poetic here: you learn to appreciate every moment of time as something unique and special; and you see each moment as part of the fabric of everything else that has occurred on earth.

The Lunar Zone

After the earth zone is the lunar zone.  It takes me about two seconds and I am fully present here with my mental body.  Think silvery, slightly violet light.  Think moonlight, magnetic and gravitational pull on the earth, tides rising and falling.  The lunar zone’s vibration is often invoked in a Wicca ceremony.  The lunar vibration is thick and rich in the call to prayer at an Islamic mosque.

The lunar zone is an inner peace with the universe.  It is the ability to enter a dream and experience it here and now as if it is completely real.

“Going into the light?”  Think that when someone dies they go into a dream and live within an astral place that is appropriate and comfortable to their astral nature, assuming they make it that far.

Basically, you step outside of space and time without emphasizing a connection to our physical world which is so characteristic of the earth zone.  Here you get to pursue the most subtle vibrations of the astral plane.  Obsessed with internet, with computer games, with sex, with gambling, eating or not eating or some other kind of addiction?  What do these things do?  What do they have in common?

For one, they take you outside of the tensions and anxieties of your life.   They take you into an imaginary situation, a situation offering, in however twisted and warped way, a ray of hope, a sense of completion, a temporary taste of satisfaction and the thrill of being alive.

Enter the lunar zone and at least in terms of your inner life, your life of feeling, you are already anywhere you want to be.  It is that real of a dream.  Do you hear voices?  Something unreal is calling to you as if it is real?

The lunar zone is Yeats:  “Come away Oh human child, to the forest and the wild, for the world is more full of suffering than you can understand.”  The lunar zone has its dark side, its negative vibration and when this low grade vibration touches people it takes them into a dream but a dream that turns into a  nightmare, insanity, obsession, torment, sorrow, regret, lost life, illusion—all of that because they do not draw upon its positive light.

The positive lunar light is the illumination of a dream that allows you to live within what shall be so that you see and experience exactly what you need in order to change the world.  As in, “I have a dream” and “without a vision the people perish.”

To be nurtured from within when the world offers you no nourishment--this is the power of the lunar zone.  “Take my hand.  I will find you.  I will guide.  I will heal you. I will be all that you need.  I will show you your path to completion.  Trust me and you shall attain your deepest happiness and highest satisfaction.”  Who speaks in that way without at the same abusing his or her power?

The lunar zone is appointed by Divine Providence to provide inner life, self-illumination, inner peace with the universe, the vision and experience of completion, and a perspective that from outside of  time and history allows you to taste, touch, and participate in a high ideal, a dream of  what life is in its innermost heart meant to be.

So, get it right.  When someone says, “Christ it going to return, Christ to going to return.  I saw it in a dream. (Or I read it in God’s Word). Come with me and sell all you have (put it in my bank account for safe keeping) and come sit on a hill with me.” Or when they say, “The dream of my God is so real I will simply blow myself up so I can be a martyr and enter paradise that much more quickly since, gee, my life here is so incredibly unfair, unjust, and I don’t want to think about how corrupt my spiritual teachers and political leaders are who can’t figure out how to deal with this world other than trying to destroy it and get back to our golden age.”

These two are both mistaking the power of the dream for the work necessary to make the dream real.  And so they fail in the mandate for the earth of taking responsibility for oneself and for the world.  They do not buy the wisdom that is expensive.  They buy an option that is cheap (that is “out of the money” to use a phrase from investing)—they place their life force and spiritual essence in a bottle that is unable to contain or preserve it.

Note: the above lunar zone descriptions were written over a period of three hours.  It may seem like I zoom in and out of spiritual domains with great ease.  I did say it took me two seconds to get into the lunar zone.  At times I do that. But generally, especially when I am trying to write up and communicate my experience, the process is very slow, like a translator trying to make sense of a written language no one has spoken for four thousand years.

I am here studying not what I already know.  I am looking for what I do not know--the wisdom that is lurking but easy to miss.

Like some yogis who attain bliss, they just want to sit and do yoga and meditate.  What else in life can beat this?  There is a temptation with the lunar zone to want to stay here forever.  Why return to reality?

Perhaps the answer is in the voice of the lunar akasha which seems to say, “I am peace and I am serenity.  Don’t think small.  Think big.  Become peace.  Become serenity. Become the vision that encompasses the beginnings and final ends of history.  Think ‘Peace on earth and good will toward men.’”

A few additional notes: being here is almost exactly like a waking dream—you are asleep but you wake up within the dream and realize that you can design your own dreams and then experience what you have imagined.

Last night I dreamed that Phelps Dodge, a stock I had bought three days ago, went up another two dollars.  Today it did go up and I sold it near its high today with a ten dollar per share gain after holding it for four days.  Phillips Dodge (symbol: PD) does this little up and down movement about four times a year.  This time I rode the rise just right.

Dreams do not have to be so prosaic and materialistic.  Imagine you could write a dream or two for tonight that you would experience after you fall asleep.  I just worked through several dreams—dreams that bring happiness, peace, tranquility, satisfaction, contentment, love, an inner connection to others, friendship, and why even peace on earth.

Imagine the dream with details, with feelings, with new experience, with surprises happening, with a sense of physical and emotion reality.  The lunar sphere embodies a vibration that is rich in emotional images and sensual experience.  It is a dense magnetism that with the breath of spirit gives life to the dream of satisfaction and fulfillment contained within any desire, longing, hope, or purpose.

The lunar sphere is the magic and enchantment within every fairy tale.  Be clear: the lunar sphere does not tell you how to proceed—it is not the work you must do to make a dream real.  But just having the dream in place, fully informed with vitality, graphic image, and grace, exercises a power of persuasion over fate.

To put it simply, what you imagine within the lunar vibration surprises you because it is so full of life, so unexpected, so satisfying, and new.

The Mercury Zone

Well, enough of the lunar zone for now.  Let’s get out of this mode of inner illumination and move on to Mercury.  Mercury is your high school teacher and college professor trying their hardest to get you to think clearly.  Isolate the parts, aspects, and variables.  Separate, study, define, and then integrate into a whole.  Gain a perspective that takes everything into consideration.

The spirits of the Mercury zone speak thus: “You have a problem?  We have a solution in the here and now, for God is a God of action and we are the servants of the Most High.”

One of the mysteries of human history is when Pope Leo went out single handedly, alone, and had a conversation with Attila the Hun who was on his way to sack Rome.  After the “conversation,” Attila the Hun turned his army around and went somewhere else.  This is the sphere of Mercury appearing briefly on earth.  Mercury is about communication, clarity, reason, and persuasion.

But Mercury is not timid.  Like Moses in Egypt, its voice is quite willing to appropriate the elements of nature into its voice of persuasion.  In Mercury, science and magic are the same thing.  You can solve the problem one way or you can solve the problem the other way.  What is the difference?  You use whatever means is easiest for you and the most accessible.

The periodic table?  Scientists arrived at a point where they realized that elements have chemical properties that follow patterns according to atomic mass.  This way they could predict the nature of elements before they had even discovered them. That is clear thinking combined with experimentation and observation.

Dark matter?  Can’t get a handle on it?  Evades all your instruments, observation, research, and theories even though you figure it makes up 95 % of the matter in the universe?  You can put your mind directly into dark matter.

Gee, look at that!  It is like gravity but it is not gravity.  Perhaps the universe has dimensions impinging on our own that we have not yet defined according to our categories of space and time.  That is the magical approach.  Just getting a handle on solving a problem a little bit ahead of the science of our time.

The sphere of Mercury is Joseph in Egypt interpreting the dream of the pharaoh and then putting into play an economic means so that Egypt would survive the coming seven years of famine.  When a Jew has a gift from God, like Joseph or Einstein, the whole world is influence by its application.

Wiccans and Moslems have the vibration of the lunar sphere.  When they get the dream right, they are full of inspiration and inner illumination.  When they get the dream wrong, they are haunted by dark visions and terrible suffering.

Jews have the vibration of the sphere of Mercury.  When they get it right, they speak with the Voice of God prophesizing the fate of the nations and revealing the nature of matter, space, time, and energy in addition to their superb sense of business acumen.  When they get the vibration wrong, they spend thousands of years wondering what they have done wrong.

The voice of akasha in Mercury?  “I am clarity.  I am communication.  I exist to solve problems and to offer options.”

The archangel Gabriel presides over the lunar zone.  Evoking him produces in my experience a vision of the entire sky being filled with choirs of angels singing with astonishing beauty.  I don’t get angels here singing to God in the Mercury sphere.  Instead, there is a prevailing sense of the worship of the Divine Majesty, full of glory, wonder, and awe.

A princess in my screenplay, The Fall of Atlantis, demanded that a magician give her a demonstration of his magic since she accidentally discovered he could speak the cosmic language.  He replied, “The Divine Majesty is known for its creativity.  What dream would you make real?” Mercury takes the dream of the lunar sphere out of the inner psyche, out of the desire of your heart, and materializes it through a brilliant plan of action or else the masterful applications of a magical will.

In the hermetic tradition of magic a la Franz Bardon, the magician takes responsibility in some way for the world.  He seeks real time and real world solutions to problems which often seem to have no solution.  This is the inspiration and power from this sphere.

If you are going to practice magic, real magic, for twenty five years, then you ought to occasionally read in newspaper headlines the results of something you have accomplished that benefits mankind.  Otherwise, you might be happier pursuing some other form of leisure time activity, one that is not so exhausting and which is a lot more rewarding for all the effort and time you put into your practice.

The Venus Sphere

Franz Bardon likes to say that the three previous spheres are analogous to the physical, astral, and mental planes.  If that is the case, then this sphere is the integration and harmonious interaction between them.  This is the realm where the personality is perfected—the physical body, the emotions, and mind find their common ground and highest mode of harmony and expression.

It takes me a few moments to get the emerald green light right and then my impressions start streaming in. What I notice right away is that this sphere enhances the sense of knowing who you are and what you are best at doing.  As a consequence, you know how to maximize your positive influence on others and the world to the greatest extent.

Your personality—it enables you to get the most out of any situation.  You are not stuck in your thoughts or caught in your emotions or slow in your responses actions due to your body’s habitual reactions.  You feel invigorated, alive, and ready to engage what is occurring in the world around you.

In my Pop Quiz for Magicians I mention a humorous anecdote in which a spirit appeared to me at age four and asked me to enter the divine service.  I told the spirit in effect to get lost because its call represented to me that Pisces Age crap of blind devotion, submission, and fanatical dedication.  This is the Age of Aquarius.  We are after conscious knowledge, individual innovation, and the creative exercise of volition.

So the spirit quite cleverly decided to utilize the powers of Venus.  It had a female incarnate nine months later who I would meet in college and who would introduce me to the spiritual world in which she lived—a world full awe, wonder, and elemental beauty as well as horror, darkness, and the powers of domination.

You can sit in front of a guru or some great world teacher who speaks wisdom and knowledge.  But that kind of inspiration and charisma are low grade and meager competition when it comes to meeting your opposite—a member of the opposite gender who reveals to you directly what is missing from your life and exactly what it feels like to be whole, complete, and attuned to your destiny.

When it comes to knowing others, your self, or God, there is nothing that can compete with love.  When it comes to attaining illumination or riding the highest learning curve, imagine what it is like to meet someone who embodies an entire kingdom of sensory experience, emotional life, and mental awareness that is from outside the boundaries of your life.

But this is not an area for the faint of heart, those who are insecure, manipulative, or greedy.  Love has a way of tearing you apart.  And then it puts you back together again making you new and revealing the divine spark within you.  Short circuit the process or fail to follow it to completion in terms of what you have to learn and you end up in pieces.  No healing, no integration, and no empowerment.  Better to stick to that guru who wants only to clone himself within you.

There are a great many stories from mythology that portray the power of love and Eros.  I will skip those since I discuss them in many places elsewhere.  (See my essay on Problems in the Study of Magic, Part III).  Let me instead point to my immediate impression right now: I sense how in this sphere personal love is treated as a divine art.

This is not in the sense of a marriage ritual established by religion and tradition.  Instead, the Divine Presence is perceived in and through the attraction of opposites.  Life, space, time, matter, and spirit exist through the dance, the polarity, and the expression of opposites.   The dynamic polarity of opposites fully engaged results in the highest magic.

So, in the lunar sphere we meet a dream, well, many dreams of attaining an inner peace with the universe.  Here in Venus, we carry that dream(s) inside of us as we express ourselves actively in the world.  The Wicca ceremony joining the God and Goddess within the vibration of the lunar sphere?  The Islamic call to prayer with its hypnotic taste of the arch angel Gabriel’s peace?

The Temple of Solomon wherein once a year God Himself would appear within the Holy of Holies?  The magnificence of the Tai Mahal?  The grandeur of the Grand Canyon, the tranquility of Sedona, the splendor of Yosemite?  The mystery of the pyramids, the glory of the Parthenon, the inspiration of St. Peters Cathedral?

In the sphere of Venus we internalize and carry all of these feelings, dreams, wonders, awe, and inspiration inside of us.  They are a part of our internal life.  It is quite obvious from being here that the journey toward entering the Divine Presence and meeting God face to face begins with the experience of His creation—namely, in and through our personal experience with life and in and through personal love.

When you are in love and you truly love for many years, a lot of the qualities and powers of the other person appear within your self.  Love is not idle.  It captures the essence of the other and internalizes it.  There is in fact an exchange of inner soul, life, and spirit.  Venus captures the splendor and magnificence of everything beautiful and makes it a part of its self.

It would be nice if they taught this respect for beauty, the study of polarities, and the means for internalizing its harmony within one’s physical body, emotional life, and mental awareness in Sunday school, but they do not.  The sphere of Venus is beyond the knowledge of all religions on earth.  Oh, occasionally someone intuits its presence and tries to express it. There have been great artists and geniuses who briefly enter this sphere through force of will.  But the methods of teaching and mastering the grace of Venus have not yet appeared on earth.

I suppose the methods are not all that difficult to conceive.  Lovers think constantly about each other.  They are trying to make the other a part of themselves.  The German poet Rilke used to sit in front of something like a cathedral and clear his mind and just focus on his feelings and body sensations in response to his perception.  Then he would write a poem.

Imagine taking all the examples above from nature and religion and concentrating on them until you could produce their beauty and wonder at will within yourself.  Imagine being inside Socrates as he is engaging his students in dialogue as he is walking about Athens or inside the mind of Beethoven as he is composing the Ninth Symphony.  Imagine being inside the mind of Lao Tzu who with fine brush strokes is composing the Tao Te Ching: “One who has the wings of a man and the wings of a woman also is in himself .... an image of the world ....” I imagine the art of Venus is something like that.

The Solar Sphere

Onward.  Where do all these ecstatic, blissful, and wondrous experiences with love lead?   They lead to the sphere of the sun, to the realm of pure light.

The method is to surround oneself with bright, brilliant light like the sun.  And then project your mind into the sphere or aura of the sun known in Kabbalah as Tipareth.  It is possible in the sphere of Venus to so love another and to be equally loved in return that a miracle happens.  You feel so full of love that you experience in the same moment a love for all living beings—you desire to protect them and to promote their fulfillment.

It is a crazy notion, especially here on earth where just surviving and succeeding in our occupation is a major life accomplishment.  What is this crap about divine empathy that takes into account the needs of others?  Leave that to mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama.  Their traditions somehow have propelled them into that space of the heart.

Nonetheless, experiencing love for everything alive is still a personal experience.  It is the desire to take something you feel within your heart and to express it through action.

The solar sphere is not so personal.  Here it is the divine spark within yourself, your contact with and embodiment of Divine Providence and the divine spirit within you—these become fully activated.   What is that like?

I have projected my mind into the heart of the Dalai Lama and studied his energy, his inspiration, and his motivation.  (I am doing this right now in fact).  I mean he actually has thousands of students pass through his chakras during a Kalachakra empowerment.  This projecting into others to experience their essence is par for the course, normal operating procedure in some traditions.  Make it a life long habit.

The Dalai Lama’s heart is like an endless sea of compassion.  It is breathtaking.  Now, by comparison, (this is what writers and commentators do) the heart of the archangel Gabriel (just a moment.  Okay. Here I am inside of his heart) is a love, a peace, and a vision that encompasses all of human history.  It is very angelic.  But the Dalai Lama is the real thing.  His heart at least is that of a god incarnate which his tradition proclaims he is.

Still, the Dalai Lama is not operating from the sphere of the sun.  It is not the quality that is lacking. It is the level of power behind it.  If the Dalai Lama radiated the sphere of the sun, when he met Mao, Mao would have, like Attila the Hun confronting Pope Leo, turn aside from invading Tibet.  Didn’t happen.

In other words, you can shine with the light of infinite compassion and a mean old dictator can put out your light-- at least in terms of killing a million of your followers, stealing your country, and forcing you into exile.

The light of the sun is not so concerned about personal integration and the extent of its influence.  Its light shines to the ends of the universe.  The higher spirits of this sphere are autonomous, independent, creating their energy and inspiration from within.  And from within they are joined directly to God, the Creator of the universe.  It makes them wild, dazzlingly exuberant, and utterly free to express themselves according to their own inner vision.

The voice of the sun?  “The solar system revolves around me.  My energy and light nurtures life and brings beings into full consciousness.  By passing through me, they attain to their divinity.”

In each second, millions of tons of matter are exchanged for energy within the sun with temperatures of fifty million degrees.  It takes a million years for those photons to reach the sun’s surface.  And then in minutes that light streams past the inner planets and out into the surrounding universe.

The fusion of opposites within the sun is so massive and complete that when you experience this process within your self you become an independent source of life, light, and wisdom.

Having spent five thousand hours in Baptist churches when I was a youth, now that I am older I love to dialogue with Jews.  The Catholic Pope is quite wrong in saying the Logos and reason are an essential part of Christianity.  The Catholic theologians in borrowing and stealing Greek philosophy got it all wrong.  They did a great disservice with the result of placing barriers in the way of individual’s desire for spirituality.

A Jew can understand this.  God is formless.  There is no relation between the concepts developed by the mind in Greek philosophy and the formless, imageless God.  God is like akasha, penetrating through space and time. Western philosophers in the end try to conceptualize the forces unfolding history.  You can get for example dialectical materialism from this approach or a historian like Toynbee. God understands the forces of history and also the issues of each individual’s heart.  Even Kierkegaard with his resistance movement attempting to overthrow the powers of reason only made matters worst.

So I dialogue with Jews.  For me the question Christian theologians should have asked in the first century is how can we present Christ in a way that is not in conflict with Judaism?  After all, it is not possible in Judaism for God to incarnate as a human being.  On this, all the prophets of the Old Testament are in agreement, well, everyone except maybe Isaiah.

So, imagine an individual who has the inner dream of the lunar sphere—an inner peace that reflects and derives from the universe.  And he has that mental power of Mercury (like unto Balaam) and can concentrate with his mind like Mercury spirits for hours on end without the slightest thought or distraction disturbing his concentration.  And like the spirits of the sphere of Venus, he has experienced the bliss of union to such a degree that every cell in his body is overflowing with love, a love that effortlessly encompasses the world.

And to this add an inner stillness like the spirits of the sphere of the sun who within are so empty of form and so utterly open to the divine that at last God can be reflected within and through them—like light from the sun in which the exact photons that strike the mirror are the same ones that the mirror reflects without distortion.  In other words, a human being, like the solar spirits, can be so still and mirror like within his heart that God’s Presence is reflected through him.

Well, that in my understanding would be a doctrine of incarnation in which Christ could say, “I and the Father are one” which is precisely what the higher spirits of the solar sphere can say.  Now, I would never expect a Jew to like my interpretation.  But this is a possible answer to the question about how close Christianity and Judaism might come at least in terms of initiating a dialogue.

But then again Christian would never like my interpretation.  They want a Christ so divine that he can not commit sin, in fact, he is so God that he does not even have a choice to commit sin.  That may be the doctrine you want to buy into.  But that choice by definition means God does it all for you.  (And by definition, at least for me, you no longer have a human being—no  choice, then no humanity). You do not have to lift a finger to enter this brilliant, radiant light I am currently sitting within.  And that I would consider a spiritual act of criminal negligence.

But I am an Aquarian, remember?  I don’t like human beings or spirits telling me what to think or do.  I like to find my own answers though investigation and direct experience.  Evangelists can be content to “see through a glass darkly.” I am not.

I should point out that meditating within the sun does not make anyone a master no more than sitting  in a class at Harvard or attending Harvard summer school (which anyone can attend) grants you a degree from Harvard.  Though I have to admit that the two classes I took in economics at Harvard summer school were the best economics classes I ever had.   It is nice when the professor of economics once helped run the British economy.  The illustrations in his lectures are often drawn from the choices he himself made.

Another thing about sitting here meditating in the sun is that your light is seen from other stars.  You hear their songs.  You are a part of the harmony of the universe.  The harmony is analogues to Venus and reflected in a soft, quiet way in the light of the moon.  The sun is just far more dynamic and expansive.

What else?  In this light there is no selfishness.  There is no fear.  There is a grand nobility.  There is still individuality.  But when you look at the individual you tend to not see the person but rather the beauty of the universe that shines through them.

Does the sun have a dark side? Obviously.  Its light is so bright, even when reflected in a dim and twisted manner though someone’s personality, that it blinds others and turns them into narrow minded fanatics.  Overwhelm others with the power of your words and the brilliant ideal for which you stand and then kill off millions with the stupidity of your economic system or through the cruelty of your dominion.  Happens all the time.  Expressing the negative is so much easier than mastering the positive.

See for example my essay on the solar spirit EMNASUT.

The Sphere of Mars

What?  After the sun there is more to do?  Well, let’s take a look.

The analogy is rather simple.  The sun, like Jupiter also, is like a king who oversees and illuminates a realm with his wise decisions.  Mars, then, is the captain of the guard and commander of the armed forces.  His job is to preserve and protect.  He is to the kingdom what the white blood cells are within the body—they fight off infections.  Without its presence the immune system weakens and the body dies.

So, the king is over there in the solar sphere exercising the wisdom of Solomon and helping his people with his judgments and inspiring them with his light.  Mars on the other hand is practicing like any good martial artist three hours minimum per day in perfecting his martial arts.  Which are?

First, he is mastering himself.  This is not only your basic astral equilibrium of bringing the elements into balance within your self.  This is more than the spirits of Mercury who though the power of magic control the elements of nature.

No, when it comes to hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, lightning, pyroclastic flows, volcanoes, and the like, Mars embodies these powers within himself.  It is a lot more personal.  It is a matter of reflecting though oneself the fundamental powers of creation in both their creative and destructive aspects.

The white blood cells are not the Red Cross or Green Peace.  They are like special force units whose mission is to destroy the enemy.  Until a species fully ascends and attains total and complete enlightenment, becoming like unto spirits, the sphere of Mars will have an essential role to play.  It is about survival and survival is sacred. You as an individual can die and an entire planet and civilization can be destroyed in any moment.  Get used to it.  Survival is always an issue.

Need action in a catastrophe?  Do you have a hurricane Katrina? If one helicopter pilot had defied government authorities and flew over to the coliseum in New Orleans with all those desperate people waiting for help—if he had rescued just one or two people, he would have been on the cover of newspapers around the world, the cover of Time Magazine, and on the Larry King show.  He probably would have testified before Congress and won the election for the next Congressional seat.

All of this because he did what no one in the government was able to do—act in a timely manner.  You want your armed forces trained, mobile, and ready to go.  You want to be able to know how to stop five lanes of traffic to rescue someone injured in an accident or how to  find the one escape route that is open when you building is about to collapse.  You want to be able to have total command of all your faculties and turn your adrenaline to the highest possible level while retaining a clear mind.  Survival is sacred and it sometimes requires that we take command of all the power we can command in a moment of time.

Now then, in a well-known national newspaper today I have a quote in a letter to the editor written by a nation’s Press Secretary to the U.N. “[Our] nuclear program is entirely peaceful, legal and is under the watchful inspection of IAEA.  In his Aug. 31 report, the IAEA’s director-general, Mohammad ElBaradei, stated: ‘[This country] has been providing the agency with access to nuclear material and facilities and has provided the required reports.”

Okay.  Let me just jump directly inside of the mind of this nation’s president.  Here I am now.  I am just going to ask him outright if he is planning to develop nuclear weapons.

His response: “I hope to have nuclear weapons within the next year.  You do not build a hundred billion dollars worth of nuclear facilities—heavy and light water reactors, centrifuges for extracting uranium form uranium fluoride, plutonium, uranium and secret underground facilities—in order to produce electricity and peaceful medical research.  You do not make that kind of investment when we could spend twelve billion dollars instead for an oil refinery and produce gasoline for ourselves instead of importing it as we now do.”

(Note: here I am editing this essay and N. Korea, a different nation, just tested its first nuclear weapon.)

I am getting ahead of myself.  I usually leave matters concerning karma, the suffering of millions, and justice to the Judges of Saturn.  You can thank this president and others like him for motivating me to write this essay.  I am moving through the planetary spheres on my way out to Saturn in order to gain a better perspective on this issue of the proliferation of nuclear weapons.  Aquarians worry about the future and we at times have the telepathic capacity to consider options in solving problems.  Back to Mars.

The maxim within Mars is simple and straightforward: “You train your self to whatever extend is necessary in order to accomplish your mission.”  This training is not just mind, emotions, and body.  The beings in this sphere train their inner spirit as well.  If it is necessary, they will incorporate the fundamental forces of nature into their wills.

When I was young, I was disturbed by the fact that other nations had nuclear weapons pointed at my house.  Yes, that is right.  I took it personally.  These nuclear weapons were a threat to my self and my future children.

What is the level of will within a human being that is analogous to a nuclear weapon?  Does a petty dictator, a strong man, or a religious fanatic understand the power at the nucleus of an atom that he has under his command?

You want the peaceful application of nuclear energy?  Then from the perspective of Mars you will need a power of will that can survive the sphere of Saturn, that has an absolute commitment to preserving life understanding that all of life is sacred.  It is a will that, without abuse, is able to channel though itself the very powers of creation.

And what is funny is that when fusion reactors appear instead of the fission reactors we now use, oil prices will fall within ten years from sixty to less than twenty dollars a barrel.  The Arab kingdoms raking in all this oil profit will soon be bankrupt.

By all means, let’s have peaceful applications of nuclear energy.  Understand, the human race will then find it easy to place colonies on Mars and within a hundred years in other solar systems.   But these peaceful applications will not happen unless there are individuals who train their body, emotions, mind, and inner spirit aligning themselves with the powers of creation so that “nation shall not lift of sword against nation.”  Otherwise, the suffering will be greater than anything occurring in the last century of two world wars.

The Sphere of Jupiter

Today my first response to being in the blue light is a feeling of gratefulness for the simple things I have been given.  Growing up, I have had food to eat.  I had thrilling and challenging physical activities.  I had people around me who were committed to living a good life.  I had intellectual interests and challenges on a high level.

And, though rudimentary and very basic, there were people who were honestly trying to pursue a spiritual life.  I can be grateful because not more than a half mile away there lived large numbers of people who did have these things.  While I had the wealth of Jupiter on at least three levels, they experienced poverty, drug addictions, crime, broken families, cultural deprivation, and horrific living conditions.  We did not have crime in my neighborhood because the mob boss lived across the street and criminal activity was forbidden.  Wealth on earth is never without irony and contradiction.

The vibration of this sphere encourages you, in fact, demands of you that you think in terms of being wealthy within yourself.  And this wealth means having such an expansive spirit that you seek to enhance every situation you are in making it better because your interaction adds something of value.

Do you have a problem holding you back?  Solve your own problem and you solve the same problem for many.  Overcoming your limitation enables you to enrich others’ lives.

I am told by someone who used to sit with Bill Gates during corporate meetings that in spite of hiring the best and most brilliant people in the business community, Bill Gates just “doesn’t get it.  He does not understand even the most basic changes that have occurred in technology.  And if you suggested to Bill Gates or Steve Ballmer that they no longer ‘bundle’ their products in Windows, they would die of a heart attack.”

Sell people individual items so people can pick and choose what they really want?  Forget it.  Forcing crap on people is what has made Bill Gates the richest man in the world.  Still, he was once innovative and masterful in leading his corporation to supreme success.

But the history of corporations in America demonstrates a pattern—those that succeed later stagnate.  They can not keep up their level of growth and creativity.  To do so, they would have to reinvent themselves.

How do you reinvent yourself?  You go back to basics.  You start over.  You see life anew.  For Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer?  Stop thinking in terms of how you can manipulate and exploit others’ weaknesses.  Allow your self to act, think, and feel differently.  Take the perspective of others.  Think in terms of what they want and need.

A family stock broker said to me, “I don’t make money unless you make money.  How can I help you?”  I replied, “Sure.  Give me the list of all the foreign stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange.”  He never got back to me.  Ten minutes on internet and I discovered the New York Stock Exchange, nyse.com, lists all the ADR’s or foreign stocks by country on its website.

A lot of people are not trying to help you or others.  They are wrapped up in their own ways of thinking.  To grasp life, you have to think outside the box.

So, the mark of someone who has a vastly expansive inner spirit?  This individual knows how to listen without preconceptions and then creatively responds.  In the remake of the TV series, Battlestar Galactica, the scientist Baltar has an inner guardian spirit and later he in effect plays the same role for another woman.  The guardian spirits save the lives of their human counterparts over and over.  They do this simply by pointing out things that are completely obvious.

When you are entangled in life situations, the most obvious things miss you.  But when an expansive inner spirit is present, in this case, one who is completely detached and yet utterly intimate, you change your behavior and seize opportunities the moment they arise.  Generosity and nobility, seizing the high road, are the pure power of creativity.  They are freedom in action.

You want the high road?  You want to live a good life?  You want to do something remarkable and noble with your self?  You want be able to say at the end of your life, “Here and here I did things and made decisions that even God has got to appreciate.”

“Tell me why we live so many sad and lonely years?” asks the song writer.  So often we live our lives without growing, transforming, or learning anything new.  Jupiter offers things to do during each stage of our lives that grant us the highest levels of fulfillment.  These things are also the very things that enable us to fulfill and enhance others’ lives as well.  Do this and you do not possess wealth externally.  You embody the wealth of spirit.

I could write a book on the value of honesty and integrity in business transactions and how they lead to success.  I could go on to discuss in detail how power corrupts and the corruption that plagues businesses and governments around the world.  But I will skip the anecdotes.

Sitting here in the blue energy of Jupiter, I gaze out at the lives of many people I know who have succeeded in their careers.  And from the point of view of Jupiter, “You fight to protect every single dollar you make.” (George Forman after losing millions).  But you also realize equally “Our work is humanity.” (Lewis Carole.)

Learn to listen well to others.  And then recreate your self and the world around you, for this is the will of God and the power of akasha in Jupiter.
